Chapter 95 Surprise Gifts
"Michael...focus on the road, you've been glancing at your phone for the past thirty minutes," Myra chided lightly.
Startled, Michael tore his gaze away from the screen, his eyes meeting his mother's concerned gaze in the rearview mirror.
"Sorry, Mom," he replied sheepishly, "It's just that I need to check these notifications. They seem important."
Myra sighed softly, her worry etched in the lines of her face as she watched her son juggle his attention between driving and his phone. "Michael, I understand that it might be important, but your safety comes first. Whatever it is, it can wait until we reach our destination safely."
Michael reluctantly set his phone aside, realizing the gravity of his distraction. He had already caught a glimpse of the notifications, noticing they were mostly invitations related to trading stocks, talk shows, collaboration offers from international universities, and various business inquiries. Despite their potential importance, he knew that nothing was worth risking their safety on the busy highway of the province.
Speaking of the province, they were in Tagaytay. Michael couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation and nervousness as they approached the destination. This was the place where he had bought the house, a surprise he had been planning for his mother for quite some time. However, Myra remained unaware of his intentions, and Michael couldn't shake off the anxiety of revealing the surprise to her.
And then, thirty minutes later, they arrived in a luxurious subdivision in Tagaytay. The houses stood proudly with their two-story structures and sleek architectural designs, blending seamlessly with the picturesque surroundings of the countryside.
As Michael guided the car through the winding streets of the subdivision, he couldn't help but feel a surge of nervous excitement. This was the moment he had been waiting for, the culmination of months of planning and anticipation.
"Uhm…what are we doing here, Michael? Are you visiting someone? You want me to meet someone?" Myra asked, her voice tinged with curiosity as they pulled into the driveway of one of the houses.
Michael smiled nervously, his heart pounding with anticipation. "Not exactly, Mom," he replied, his voice filled with excitement. "I want to show you something special."
With a puzzled expression, Myra followed Michael out of the car and towards the front door of the house. As they stood on the threshold, Michael turned to his mother, his hands trembling with nervousness.
"Mom…remember when I asked you about your dream house? Does this fit the description?" Michael asked, his voice filled with anticipation as he gestured towards the house.
Myra's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at the elegant structure before her. She realized that Michael had something significant planned, but she couldn't quite fathom what it might be.
"Don't tell me…"
Michael's heart swelled with pride at his mother's reaction. "I wanted to give you the home you've always dreamed of, Mom," he said softly and continued. "A place where you can feel safe, comfortable, and truly happy."
"How?"
"Well... Mom, as you know, I'm the CEO of the SolaraTech Corporation and I have a lot of money in the bank, so I can afford to buy this house for us," Michael explained.
Myra's eyes filled with tears as she looked at her son, overwhelmed by his generosity and love. "Michael, I don't know what to say," she whispered.
"You don't have to say anything, Mom," Michael said gently, reaching out to embrace her. "Just know that I love you, and I want to give you the world."
With a trembling hand, Michael reached into his pocket and pulled out a real key, glinting in the sunlight. It was the key to her new home.
"Here, Mom," Michael said softly, placing the key into Myra's hand. "This is for you. Our new beginning."
ears streamed down Myra's cheeks as she looked at the key in her hand, overwhelmed by the magnitude of the moment. She hugged Michael tightly, her heart overflowing with love and gratitude.
"Want to go inside and see?" Michael suggested. Overwhelmed with emotion, Myra nodded, unable to find the words to express her gratitude. She followed Michael through the front door, her heart pounding with anticipation as she stepped into the foyer of their new home. fr𝐞𝐞𝚠e𝗯𝗻ovel.c𝐨m
The interior was even more beautiful than Myra had imagined. Sunlight streamed in through large windows, casting warm rays across the polished wooden floors. The living room was spacious and inviting, with plush sofas arranged around a cozy fireplace.
"Oh, Michael, it's beautiful," Myra exclaimed, her eyes shining with tears of joy as she took in the sight.
Michael smiled proudly, his heart swelling with happiness at his mother's reaction. He led her through the rest of the house, showing her the elegant dining room, the modern kitchen with its gleaming appliances, and the comfortable bedrooms where she would rest her head at night.
"This is all for you, Mom," Michael said, his voice filled with sincerity. "I want you to be happy here."
Myra couldn't believe the generosity and love that her son had shown her. She knew that she would never be able to repay him for everything he had done, but she promised herself that she would cherish this gift for the rest of her life.
"Of course, this is not the only gift I have for you, Mother," Michael said. "Come back with me to the truck, I'll show you something."
As they walked back to the truck, Myra's heart was still fluttering with excitement from their tour of the new house. She couldn't imagine what else Michael had in store for her, but she knew it would be something special.
Once they reached the truck, Michael opened the door for Myra, gesturing for her to hop in. As she settled into the passenger seat, Michael climbed into the driver's seat and started the engine.
After a short drive, Michael pulled into a small parking lot in front of a convenience store. Myra furrowed her brow in confusion, wondering why they had stopped there.
"What is this, Michael?" she asked, turning to look at him with a puzzled expression.
Michael smiled mischievously, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "This, Mom, is yours," he said, gesturing towards the store. "It's your business."
Myra's eyes widened in disbelief as she realized what Michael was saying. "But…how?" she stammered, unable to comprehend the enormity of what he was offering her.
"That's because you don't have to work as a cashier anymore. This business will generate you the money you'd need to be financially independent," Michael explained. "I've taken care of all the paperwork and finances. All you have to do is run it the way you want."
Myra was speechless, her mind reeling from the generosity of her son. She had never imagined such a gift, let alone two in one day.
"Thank you, Michael…for all of this."
