Hope Island…

"Boom"

The battlefield stood in stunned silence after the sharp crack of the sniper's rifle.

The bullet, moving faster than thought, was aimed directly at Das. There wasn't time for anyone to react, but the Fire Python and Snow Python Spirits materialized instantly, forming a glowing yin-yang circle in front of him.

The bullet disappeared into their swirling forms, swallowed whole before it could reach its target.

Das glanced toward the northern ridge where the shot had come from, his expression calm but his eyes sharp. Before another bullet could be fired, he acted.

Channeling the Phoenix Spirit's power, he stretched out his hand, and an invisible force gripped the sniper. The figure was pulled from their hidden perch as if by an unseen magnet. When the sniper's masked face was close enough, Das's eyes widened slightly in recognition.

"Mona," he murmured, his voice laced with surprise.

While everyone was distracted on the battlefield, Mona killed a soldier and grabbed his sniper. But her attempt to kill Das failed.

The woman struggled against the invisible grip, her face twisted in anger and desperation. She was none other than Mona, the daughter of Maya and Patriarch Ryon of the Taurus family. Her fiery eyes met Das's, and she spat venomously, "Let me go!"

Das held her firmly, pulling her closer until she stood directly before him, her feet barely touching the ground.

"I thought of sparing your life among all your family," he said coldly, his voice devoid of emotion. "But now, you've made me change my mind. Thank you for giving me no regrets about what I must do."

"Stop your nonsense!" Mona shouted, her voice cracking. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she struggled against the force holding her.

"I trusted you once, Das! I gave myself to you! And what did you do? You sided with my family's enemies! You're even preparing to kill them! I hate you, Das. I hate you!"

Das laughed, a chilling sound that echoed across the battlefield. "If you knew what your family has done, you might hate them more than you hate me," he said, his tone dark and cutting. He gestured to his side, where a pale, blind girl stood clutching a staff adorned with the skull of a winter fox.

"Do you recognize her?" Das asked in a sharp tone. "This is Thea, your sister. You share the same blood. Your family's crimes left her like this—orphaned and blinded for life."

Mona's eyes darted to Thea, confusion and disbelief flashing across her face. "What are you talking about? What lies are you spinning now?"

"Ask your mother," Das replied bluntly. "Or your father. They'll tell you the truth if they have any shred of decency left. And Thea isn't your only sibling. You have another sister, Eden.

Your parents—the ones you're so desperate to protect—destroyed their lives." He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. "For that, I will take revenge on your family. Starting with you, if necessary."

Thea stepped forward, her grip tightening on her staff. Her voice was shaky but filled with fury. "Enough talk. Taurus family, listen to me. For the anger in my heart, I could have killed every single one of you at this moment without thinking. But for the sake of my fiance, I am giving you a chance.

Submit the Taurus family weapon spirit to Das willingly. If you do that, I will spare all your lives. Or I will kill every single one of you without hesitation. This is your only chance." Thea announced loudly.

The silence that followed her declaration was deafening. No one moved. The soldiers and the Taurus family's patriarchal lineage stared at her in shock, unwilling to believe her words.

Suddenly, Patriarch Ryon's booming laughter broke the stillness. "Submit the Weapon Spirit?" he sneered. "Dream on! Do you think I would hand over our family's greatest treasure to an outsider?

The Taurus Weapon Spirit cannot be passed without the sacrifice of patriarch lineage. My life… or the life of my lineage. Do you think any of us would willingly die to satisfy your petty revenge?" He stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with defiance. "Kill us if you want. You'll never have the Weapon Spirit."

Ryon's words sent chills through the assembled Taurus family members. The soldiers trembled, and even the strongest among them seemed to shrink under the weight of his proclamation. Yet none dared speak up, their faces pale with fear.

Princess Amara, standing among the Farus family, crossed her arms and smirked. "You know, Das," she said loudly, "you could just kill them all. It's not like anyone here has the courage to do what's necessary. Taurus pride will be their downfall."

Das chuckled darkly. "Funny. Weren't you the one who handed over your own family's Weapon Spirit to me willingly? Look at where we are now." He turned his gaze back to Ryon. "The same will happen here. It's only a matter of time. Watch as it crumbles around you."

But before he could respond, Thea held the hand of Das and used his power. A bolt of sorcery energy shot forth, striking a Taurus member who had been whispering nervously to his relatives. The man screamed as pain spread across his body, encasing him in a prison of pain.

"This is just the beginning," Thea said, her voice trembling with emotion. "I will kill every last one of you if I have to. Your pride means nothing to me. Your lives mean nothing to me. Submit the Weapon Spirit, or face the consequences."

The Tarus army soldiers backed away in horror, their weapons shaking in their hands. Still, no one stepped forward.

Das sighed, shaking his head. "This is getting tiresome," he said. "Let's make this simple." He raised a hand, and the Phoenix Spirit emerged behind him, its radiant flames casting an oppressive heat over the battlefield. "If no one steps forward, I'll burn this entire place to ash. Your family will be nothing more than a memory."

The tension in the air was palpable. The Taurus family members exchanged panicked glances, but still, no one moved. Ryon stood firm, his face set in grim determination.

"You'll never break us," he said quietly. "Do what you will, Das. We won't submit."

Das's smile faded, replaced by a cold, calculating expression. "Very well. If death is what you choose, so be it."
