Broken Oath: I Left, He Regretted-Chapter 42: Let Him Witness Serena Sawyer and My Brother
I couldnβt help but grip my phone tightly.
I thought Timothy would have let it go after the day I had a gastric hemorrhage. ππΏπ²ππ°πππ§πππ²π₯.πππ
But I still donβt understand him enough.
Someone like him, always meticulous in his actions, how could he ignore a loophole and let it develop?
I forced myself to calm down and asked, "Does he know Iβm looking for a lawyer to divorce?"
"He probably doesnβt know yet," Jenna said. "He hasnβt thought in that direction, but he noticed that I went to the master bedroom that day to get Serena Sawyerβs hair."
I nodded, saying, "Alright, got it."
Jenna repeatedly urged, "Youβd better hurry back to your parentsβ home to hide. Iβm really afraid that Timothy, that bastard, might do something bad to you. His eyes were terrifying today, like he wanted to kill someone!"
I resignedly said, "Thereβs no hiding from it. Even if I go to my parentsβ home, heβll still find me. Besides, the Xavier Groupβs equipment launch has been delayed; he could stop my momβs life-support anytime."
At that moment, I saw the car lights flickering in the yard, signaling that Timothy was back.
I hung up the phone, took a deep breath, and prepared for the coming storm.
By the time I hobbled into the living room, Timothy had just walked in.
With a frosty face, he threw a specimen bag in front of me, saying, "Explain."
His piercing gaze bore into me, as if wanting to pierce through me like a knife.
"You already know, what else is there to explain?"
I wanted to probe him to find out how much he truly knew.
Timothy stepped to my side, his cold fingertips tightly pinching my jaw, "You want to ruin Serena and Doris, donβt you?"
I sighed with relief.
It seemed he hadnβt realized my true intentions at all.
I wanted far more than just Serena Sawyerβs downfall.
I wanted to end this marriage filled with betrayal and injustice!
The pain in my jaw forced me to furrow my brow, as I said, word by word, "So how does President Xavier intend to deal with me? Keep such a dangerous person at home, arenβt you afraid?"
I thought Timothy, in his anger, would initiate a divorce or a separation himself.
But unexpectedly, he released me and even chuckled softly, "Afraid? With your petty jealous tricks?"
I laughed as well.
Timothy is always so confident.
But for some reason, when he saw me laugh, his eyes grew darker as he warned, "This is the last time I tolerate you. If I catch you scheming against Serena and Doris again, Iβll make you and The Ellison Family pay the price!"
Another threat!
Tomorrow, Iβll show him how foolish he is for protecting Serena Sawyer today.
"Alright, I understand."
I didnβt argue but gently agreed and then asked him, "You remember the promise with my mom, right? Noon on Saturday, to have lunch at The Ellison Family?"
Timothy was slightly startled, probably surprised I dared to bring up going back to my parentsβ home for dinner.
"I donβt have the time."
Without thinking, he refused me.
And his trip home was only to settle scores with me.
Now, he was rushing to his motherβs to accompany his daughter.
But I grabbed his sleeve, firmly saying, "You must go! I can tell you right now, my brotherβs girlfriend is your childβs mother! Donβt you want to see?"
Timothy stopped, his eyebrows furrowed, saying, "Zoe Ellison, put away your absurd tactics; theyβre not sophisticated at all. If youβre going to make things up, at least make it plausible!"
"Then why not see for yourself tomorrow?" I had a hint of a smile on my lips, saying, "Are you afraid to face reality? Timothy Xavier, are you scared?"
Timothyβs eyes grew darker, and tonight he actually stayed at the villa, not returning to my mother-in-lawβs home.
It seems heβs ready to go with me to The Ellison Family tomorrow noon.
...
The next day, I got up very early.
Thinking about everything that would happen at noon, I felt a hidden excitement.
In the morning, I quickly processed the work emails in my inbox.
Then I prepared to go to The Ellison Family with Timothy.
But the driver was already waiting outside, and Timothy received a call from Sophia Kendall.
"What? Fever?"
Upon hearing his daughter was ill, Timothy said to the person on the other end, "I told you, she shouldnβt eat so much cold stuff in this weather."
"Alright, Iβm coming over now."
Timothy hung up, walking outside in a hurry.
I immediately stopped him, saying, "Timothy, you promised to go to The Ellison Family with me."
Timothyβs handsome face was full of impatience, saying to me, "Doris is sick; I donβt have time for your antics!"
"Sheβs sick, doesnβt she have her mom to care for her?"
I still blocked his path, saying, "Serena Sawyer isnβt home today, is she? Thatβs because Serena Sawyer is with my brother now!"
Timothy took a deep breath, seemingly trying to rein in his temper, saying, "Zoe Ellison, I donβt believe a word youβre saying! Go back by yourself at noon."
He was still leaving.
Sitting in the wheelchair, I clung to his leg, refusing to let him go.
Timothy was stunned by my actions.
"Zoe Ellison, let go!"
His face showed hints of anger, saying, "What exactly do you want?"
I was on the verge of tears, choking up, "Youβve never kept a single promise to me! Timothy Xavier, if you go to The Ellison Family with me today, youβll see how foolish youβve been!"
Timothy was silent for a moment, finally conceding.
However, his gaze was especially piercing as he said, "If itβs not as you said, youβll pay for it."
"Alright! Iβll let you deal with me then!"
I agreed readily, with a resolve akin to signing a life-or-death pact.
So, we went out together.
...
The Ellison Family.
When we arrived, my brother wasnβt back yet.
The table was already set with our favorite dishes.
They knew Timothy preferred vegetarian food, so half of the dishes were vegetarian.
Mrs. Ellison explained with a smile, "Timothy, if you normally came, everything would be vegetarian. But today, Declan is bringing his girlfriend, and Iβm afraid she might not be used to all vegetarian. Could you bear with it, alright?"
Despite being angry with me, Timothy was courteous to Mrs. Ellison, saying, "No problem, Iβm fine with whatever the host serves."
Mrs. Ellison glanced at the time, saying, "Declan just called; heβs on his way and will be here soon. You guys sit and chat with your dad for now!"
