Bro, I'm not an Undead!-Chapter 1474: The War Body (1)
Behind the furiously pulsing and stalwart protection of Maximum Catalyst and [Just Light], the spectators… hardly felt like spectators at all.
The little hawk Skullius had conjured was in charge of making sure that the racing bubbles of light within the Fated Reef wouldn't touch them - just in case they were actually capable of pressuring the protection Skullius had granted the four.
Thus, Kenno, Red Rage, Elita and Aurolio were being whipped around rapidly, avoiding the bubbles without end.
Even if they were capable of following Nunax and Skullius' movements, they wouldn't have been able to focus with all the movement. Everything appeared bright and chaotic to their senses.
In an attempt to combat this and actually get a glimpse of what was happening, Elita and Aurolio had summoned their Bare Guises and activated their Mastered Void Gate abilities. They both shed away their human appearances as well in order to further empower their physical qualities – their vision in particular.

The result was rather poor.
Where they couldn't see Skullius' figure racing about to avoid the arrow within the brightly lit space, now they could see a long grey line winding and bending infinitely, with a lilac one that zagged in egregious patterns almost meeting it at several thousand points.
Kenno had it even worse. He had used one of the Starmations grafted onto his Granted Star Armament, Granted Vision, in an attempt to fulfil his role as a spectator, but he still couldn't see much. That didn't bother him as much though. He was still all too glad to see that the future boss was even more ridiculously overpowered than he had imagined.
The current boss (without accessing his hidden power) required the aid of many individuals – from Kenno, to the Void Users, to Araeyn and then the Penetrators he had summoned through a Charged Mantle – to beat a single Doom Knight.
But the stoic, cooler boss was... astounding.
Red Rage shared Kenno's sentiment.
He wasn't able to even attempt to 'see' the battle, but he could sense Future Skullius' movements by virtue of being his Apostle – even if there was some technicality involved. He could sense the severe speed, the finesse and cunning in every one of his movements and the swift allocation of Amras, Null Life Essence, [Evil Darkness], [Just Light], mana and Ju`wtte.
And indeed, future Skullius was applying Null Life Essence around his body constantly, shielding himself against the harmful reflections of the light in the Fated Reef.
Red Rage was impressed.
If this was a height that his current master could reach…
BOOOM!
A thunderous crash exploded from somewhere within the Fated Reef.
Red Rage shuddered when a little of the force coursed through him. The mix of Maximum Catalyst and [Just Light] had repelled a majority of the sound from him and the others. Only the Apostle was able to tell the source of the noise though. His master had landed only a single blow on Nunax but dealt grievous damage.
But that wasn't all.
The horrendous boom came belatedly. The battle between the two monsters had already reached a new stage.
*
Skullius immediately switched from trying to avoid the arrows to challenging them. He swiftly changed from his Ju`wtte form to his humanoid form and pointed all his hands towards the incoming arrows.
"The darkness hides."
At once, darkness covered each of the arrows, ridding them of their beautiful lilac glow – ridding them of any colour in general, really. After being wrapped in black, they disappeared entirely from view.
As soon as it was so, Skullius warped away, barely avoiding being impaled.
But the arrows were made a non-factor from then on.
Nunax, in the midst of being bathed by dozens of liquid lights, shuddered.
…She couldn't sense her arrows anymore.
They were hidden from her senses, even when she searched using the connection she had to the Fated Reef.
They were lost to her.
But how?
What power was this?
She couldn't have known, but the arrows were spiralling without aim all about the Fated Reef without a clear destination or goal. Only Skullius could see them.
Nunax hissed.
She sensed Skullius landing a great distance away, opposite her, at the edge of the Fated Reef.
He constructed a great cage of Ju`wtte that warded away the light bubbles.
Here in the Fated Reef, the property of his nimbus which stopped anything that got too close to him using the Melding Stitches and Maximum Frost wouldn't work. It couldn't handle too many targets at once, so he had shut it off in order to save his Amras.
After confirming that his cage could hold for a second at least, Future Skullius gave an exasperated sigh.
'There really shouldn't be an 'Instant' in the name of this Andori,' he thought before crossing the middle and ring fingers of his upper right hand.
…And then [Instant Embodiment of Perfection] was activated.
There was a horrifying explosion of Amras right then.
It was so staggering that the bubbles of light in the Fated Reef fled upon coming into contact with it. They weren't compelled to do so by any specific property of the Amras itself, however. It was simply because of its sheer volume that they were sent spinning backwards.
Nunax gnashed her teeth.
Even while cloaked and swept by great powers of her own, she couldn't help but feel as though she was being stabbed lightly by a thousand Realm rank swords. The Amras pouring from beyond was just that potent and voluminous even though it was supposed to be a league below her own in quality!
How could this be?
Just who was this individual?
Was he a Deity in disguise?
Her eyes twitching, she hurried to absorb the energy pouring from her moons. They dwindled in size and vanished rapidly as their essence was taken in by their master.
Soon, Nunax, wary still, was drenched in all manner of lights as she hung in the bright, bubbled sky.
Her form began to change. She forced the transformation to hasten, but it wasn't quick enough. She wanted it done before the torrent of Amras flaring in the distance vanished or was used to strike her down with some horrendous power she didn't understand.
Unfortunately, she didn't make it in time.
The power pouring from Skullius... vanished unceremoniously.
…!!!
Nunax shuddered, her eyes growing wide.
...No blow reached for her immediately, as she had assumed.
...?
In fact…
She frowned.
Had her opponent gotten… weaker?
Nunax of the Seventy-Seven Moons gazed at the figure of the War Body slowly being revealed from the distance, but could sense no profundity from it whatsoever.
She was compelled to… grin.
Had the enemy fumbled?
A silent laugh left her lips.
…But the same also spilled from Skullius Festos Dawn.
"A bit underwhelming at first, isn't it?" he said to the Deity. "That's what I love about it, actually. We'll be entertaining each other for six minutes, nothing more."
As he spoke, the guidance field chimed in his eyes and those of the spectators.
