Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game-Chapter 199 - 132 Do you want to hear the truth?
Charlotte stared blankly at the woman in front of her, clearly familiar yet strangely unrecognizable.
Luna’s skin had always been good, though it often became a bit dull due to frequent makeup use, still, she was undeniably a beauty. Charlotte was said to take after her grandmother, a legendary beauty of her time, though she had never seen her, many claimed it so. Meanwhile, Luna resembled Charles more, with her striking brows and large eyes adding a wild beauty to her face. She was already beautiful enough, so why undergo plastic surgery?
Now, Luna’s skin appeared translucently white, as if excessively polished, almost glowing, but noticeably thinner. The ancient saying of delicate skin wasn’t applicable here, her face emitted a distinct silicone aura, resembling a perfectly styled Barbie, yet somehow it didn’t feel right.
"You still know how to call me sister? Everything of mine has been taken, now I’m forced to stay in hotels. Didn’t Mom transfer all the money to you? At least give me my half," Luna demanded righteously. It was rightfully hers; why should Charlotte take everything?
So greedy; she was already married to Atlas Hallow, yet she still wanted a share of the Miller Family’s inheritance? Most despicably, somehow, she manipulated things so that not a single cent was given to Luna, even freezing her accounts. Thankfully Jack Smith gave her one of his cards, allowing her to fix the injuries on her face along with some unsatisfactory features.
"Why don’t you go to the United States? I’ve already arranged the school for you." Charlotte had grown weary of Luna’s antics, nearly causing a mortal accident, yet still so obstinate. The worst part was Luna had no idea what she wanted or needed, wanting to earn money but lacking any skills to do so. Returning to school was the best plan for her.
"What are you afraid of, always trying to send me away?" Luna smiled charmingly, walking over to stand between Charlotte and Atlas Hallow, "Are you afraid he might fall for me, or that I might fall for him?"
Having always been incredibly confident due to her beauty, Luna’s confidence only soared further after her cosmetic procedures. With such beauty, what man could resist her?
She couldn’t believe Atlas Hallow would truly remain unmoved; perhaps the other day when he pushed her away, he might have been in a bad mood or something. If Atlas Hallow had any interest in women, he wouldn’t be indifferent toward her.
And Charlotte repeatedly trying to send her off to the United States only confirmed her suspicions.
"I’m afraid of you, alright? Hurry and go to the United States." Charlotte sighed, unsure what else she could discuss with Luna. Since childhood, Luna had been pursued by boys, perhaps developing early, surrounded by a throng of admirers and filled with sweet words, spoiling her temperament. So naturally, she assumed all the men around her were infatuated with her.
"I’m not leaving, Charlotte. Our family was doing well, but you insisted on doing this, selling everything of the Miller Family and leaving me without a place to stay. Your cruelty is extreme, yet I don’t understand why any man would love you. I’m staying to fight for what I want; everything you have, I will have too eventually. Now hand over the money our parents gave you." Luna stood before Charlotte. Charlotte’s frame was slightly slighter, and with Luna wearing high heels of over 10 centimeters, she looked taller, glaring down intimidatingly.
"You want her to give you half, but shouldn’t you first return the fifty million to me?" Charlotte only felt the man’s deep voice from behind her rise in the air, filled with authoritative majesty.
Atlas Hallow stood behind Charlotte, wrapping his arm around her waist, leaning down to speak softly in her ear: "Go into the office first, let me handle things here."
He truly felt a twinge of pity for Charlotte, her petite and delicate body burdened with too much responsibility. The entire Miller Family was essentially already dismantled, only a shell left; it was her tireless efforts that prevented the family from falling into complete disgrace. Had Charlotte not decisively shut down all the businesses, following Charles’s management approach, the Miller Family would have ended up plunged into debt sooner or later.
