Bound To The Ice Dragon King-Chapter 130: Who hurt you?!
Rhea saw the anger in Gail’s eyes and sensed that the situation was not going to end well. Gail screamed, "I will kill you!" In that moment, she forcefully pulled at the chains, causing her body to tremble and the flames surrounding the chains to diminish. To everyone’s surprise, Gail’s body transformed back into her human form, allowing her to effortlessly slip out of the chains.
Now standing completely naked, Gail’s body was only concealed by a frigid mist that blurred her nudity. She raised her hand and began to counter the flame spell with her own icy powers. Gradually, the spell started to weaken. However, blood continued to flow from her wounds and mouth as she used every ounce of her remaining strength to break free.
With a fierce scream, Gail shattered the spell, but immediately coughed up blood. Before anyone could react, she stepped out of the spell circle and attacked anyone who stood in her way of reaching Elliot to exact her revenge.
The onlookers were astonished by Gail’s unexpected ease of escape. Oriana swiftly reacted, summoning her flame sword and hurling it towards Gail. Unfazed, Gail did not attempt to avoid the blade, instead she forcefully raised her arm and blocked it.
However, Oriana was not so easily deterred. With a quick motion, she redirected the sword back towards Gail. Consumed by rage, Gail turned her attention towards Oriana, intending to confront her first.
Rhea’s heart sank as she observed the unfolding events. She knew Gail was furious, but no matter how strong she was, she was no match for Oriana. Rhea’s mind raced, realizing that she couldn’t simply stand idly by while her newfound friend was in danger of being harmed by that cruel woman.
Rhea was on the verge of stepping forward when she saw Oriana was about to attack Gail, but Elliot quickly swung his sword and blocked Oriana’s attack, preventing it from reaching Gail. However, as Elliot moved to shield Gail, she’d already retaliated by hurling her ice blade at Oriana, which ultimately ended up piercing through Elliot’s side from behind. Surprisingly, Elliot showed no reaction whatsoever, not even a flicker in his eyebrows.
Before anyone could react, Elliot turned his attention back to Gail and forcefully struck her shoulders with all his might. If Gail had let her guard down, his blow would have been strong enough to send her flying to the other side of the mountain. However, she only managed to move back a mere inch.
Rhea’s eyes widened as she realized Elliot’s true intention. He was trying to create an opportunity for her to escape by appearing as though he was protecting Oriana.
However, before Elliot could make another attempt, Oriana, who had been blocked by him, suddenly twisted her sword. In the darkness, her flame sword moved with lightning speed, launching a powerful strike towards Gail. In an instant, it pierced through Gail’s stomach, causing blood to spurt out.
Unsatisfied, Oriana commanded the sword with a twist of her hand, driving it even deeper into Gail’s stomach. Everything happened in the blink of an eye.
Rhea hadn’t expected that at all. Gail’s body fell like a soulless puppet.
Elliot’s eyes widened in horror.
Rhea threw all caution to the wind and rushed towards Gail without considering the potential consequences. She dropped to her knees and cradled Gail’s head in her lap as her eyes started to roll back. Rhea quickly used her ice to cover the wound to prevent further bleeding.
"Gail, please don’t close your eyes. I’ll find a way to get us out of here," she reassured, her hands and voice trembling. She had recently formed a bond with Gail and was determined not to let her die. No, Gail would not die in this manner.
Oriana’s cold laughter broke the silent night, "Oh, turns out we have another outcast that ought be killed right here!"
Rhea gritted her teeth as she heard Oriana’s words. She didn’t have a lot of time here, nor did she have the strength to fight all these fire controllers alone. Right now, the slightest delay could cost them their lives.
As Rhea’s head was ducked down, Oriana hadn’t seen her face clearly. But when Rhea raised her head to look at Oriana, and the torches illuminated her flawless face, Oriana’s cold laughter immediately died. Though Rhea couldn’t see beyond the veil covering her face, but she could sense the growing anger coming from her.
"How did you...!" Oriana bitterly spat out.
That was right. How did she heal her ruined face? Their faces were both marred at the same time, but Rhea’s appearance had healed while hers still had to be covered with a veil, to the extent no magic could heal her ruined face. And for that she couldn’t show her face anymore.
As arrogant as Oriana was, how could she let herself to be seen with such disgraceful face. They already had bad blood between them. Now, they were sworn enemies!
"What a coincidence you are also here!" Oriana’s voice was ice cold, "But don’t think you will be able to leave this place alive with that evil creature, both of you will die by my hands tonight!"
Rhea looked down at Gail, she could feel her body grow weaker. And at that moment, Rhea noticed the black vapor of death started to emit from Gail’s body. The vapor was very faint, but Rhea knew that death was at the door if she didn’t hurry.
Rhea looked towards Elliot, completely ignoring Oriana, "Elliot, she’s going to die if you don’t do something. She’s done nothing but talk about you all day, she...she loves you more than her own life." Rhea tried to let him know, if he truly cared about Gail, he would help them."She risked her life to come here to share a good news with you, aren’t you curious to know what she wanted to tell you?"
Rhea had no idea what that news was, but for some reason she felt it was something important which was why Gail couldn’t wait to share it with her lover.
"Please, do something," Rhea added softly, tears welling in her eyes.
Rhea could see the emotion in Elliot’s gray eyes as they glistened with tears while he looked at Gail. He was about to step forward, but Oriana interrupted, "Elliot, don’t even think about betraying humanity for a heartless creature!" She threatened, "If you dare move, I will ensure your entire family suffers the consequences of your disgraceful actions. That beast is nothing but an animal! She’s just manipulating your emotions. What you feel is not love. End her life and prove your loyalty to humanity."
"Loyalty to humanity?" Rhea laughed bitterly, as if she had heard the most bitter joke in the world. "What humanity? You are the most evil creature on earth. How do you find it in your heart to sleep at night after killing innocent beings?" Rhea scoffed, "I never thought a day would come when I’d say this, but I’m ashamed to call myself human because of the disgrace you’ve brought upon us. You want to kill me, right? Go ahead, but I want you to know, even after my death, I will hunt you down."
Rhea wanted to say more before accepting her fate, but suddenly she felt her heart rate increase. A familiar chill ran through her body. She immediately recognized that feeling and instinctively looked up at the sky. And there it was, she saw a massive, familiar dragon soaring through the sky.
The dragon was none other than Nino, and right atop it was a familiar figure that Rhea had longed for but tried to ignore for the past few days.
Draven.
As everyone was still in shock at the sight of the unexpected dragon, Draven swiftly jumped down before it. He landed beside Rhea, but the people around could only see his strong back and silhouette, his black cloak billowing in the wind.
Before they could react, Draven raised his hand, causing the ground to freeze. Those who couldn’t avoid the icy ground became frozen along with it. In an instant, people began running to escape the approaching ice, with only Oriana and Elliot managing to avoid the frozen ground with their flames.
Draven looked down at Rhea and noticed her bloodied body, causing him to frown deeply. Without wasting any time, he grabbed her arms and lifted her from the ground, not even noticing the motionless Gail. His attention was solely on Rhea.
"Are you injured? Where are you hurt and who hurt you?" he asked multiple questions at once while inspecting her body for any bleeding wounds.
Rhea repeatedly shook her head and, with a voice choked with emotions, pointed to Gail on the ground. "She... she’s dying. I’m not hurt," she said, pulling away from Draven’s grasp and returning to Gail. She bent down and began to lift Gail’s arms. It was only then that Draven noticed the naked, blood-covered woman on the ground.
"Draven, please give me a hand," Rhea said with a trembling voice.
Draven quickly snapped out of his shock, he took off his cloak and put around Gail’s body. And with a swift movement, he carried her into his arms. "Let’s go." He said to Rhea, before he started to walk back towards the dragon.
Ethan was also on the dragon, he paled when he saw the blood dripping from Gail’s body, and the blood covering Rhea’s clothes. "What happened..."
"We have to take her back immediately, she’s losing a lot of blood." Draven stated as he gently placed Gail in front of Ethan on the dragon.
Rhea glanced back and noticed that Elliot was also rushing towards them, but halted abruptly when Oriana glared at him and shouted towards them, "How dare you outcast creatures trespass on our land and harm our people! And what gives you the audacity to think I will allow you to leave this place alive?!"
Draven’s movements paused upon hearing those words. He turned towards Oriana, his gaze cold and piercing, and raised an eyebrow challengingly. "Is that so?" he questioned.
Oriana froze in her tracks as she saw the intensity in his eyes. She instinctively began to retreat backwards, vividly recalling the moment when he used his icy blade to mar her once flawless face.
Not uttering another word, Draven noticed her terrified state. He simply mounted the dragon’s back and swiftly lifted Rhea, settling her in front of him.
Without wasting any time, the dragon soared into the horizon.
