Bought For A Baby, Kept For A Lifetime-Chapter 216: Stress??
It felt like a hammer was currently assaulting her head, so much so she could feel the veins in her head pounding so harshly.
Anne groaned in pain as she slowly opened her eyes.
"She’s awake!" She heard a deeply familiar male voice utter above her. "Anne." The voice uttered her name and her eyes slowly began to focus on her surroundings.
The clear luxurious white ceilings, and the sinfully handsome face which was somewhat of a blur at first before his features began to register as her eyes focused on his face.
He let out a long sigh, his hands cupping her face.
"Are you all right? How are you feeling?" He suddenly shot these questions at her even before her mind could remember to function properly again.
"Don’t loom over her like that, she needs air to breathe." Another voice sounded from behind Andrew and he seemed to listen, moving away from the edge of the bed next to her where he was sitting, only then did Anne see Shawn in the room as well.
Her eyes widened as she remembered what happened.
She was about to go to her room when she had suddenly felt dizzy the moment she stood up, at first it was just a short bout of dizziness and she thought it was normal since she usually got dizzy most times due to her pregnancy but the moment she started walking it had intensified and her head had suddenly felt heavy as if a large boulder had been kept on the top of her skull. Her vision began to turn blurry, thousands of black dots clogged her vision and she had felt herself going weak in her whole body, after that she couldn’t remember what happened next.
She had lost consciousness.
She realized due to the presence of the doctor.
Wait, the doctor!
Anne’s face quickly heated up as she tried to sit up instantly looking down at her own body.
She remembered that she had been wearing a simple towel when she lost consciousness, but that sudden movement had brought on a wave of headache that she had to grab her head again because she was suddenly feeling as if her head would fall off.
"What’s wrong, your head hurts?" There was suddenly someone sitting next to her again, "I thought you said she would feel better once she wakes up, why is she in pain?" She heard him raise his voice in another direction.
"Anne, can you describe how you feel?" Shawn questioned her gently ignoring his friend who didn’t know what to do when the feeling of worry suddenly came over him.
She lifted her hand away from her head, feeling the headache slowly subside, as she looked down at her body she was relieved to find herself wearing a large white shirt that reached down over her thighs.
"My head aches badly and I feel a bit nauseous."
"Will you excuse me for a minute?" Shawn asked Andrew who was fixatedly seated next to her. Andrew merely stood to the side because he knew Shawn had to perform a quick check on her.
A few minutes passed and Shawn asked that she make an appointment at the hospital for some tests just to be safe.
"However, something like this can occur when the pregnant woman has been exposed to stress, but more often than not, it’s mostly caused by an active sexual life in the early stages of pregnancy." As Shawn explained this, Anne’s face immediately turned red and she suddenly felt like being drowned rather than facing this embarrassing situation.
An active sexual life?
Does that mean Shawn could already tell that she and Andrew have been...?
Anne immediately averted her gaze wishing she could just disappear.
Shawn sent Andrew a knowing look to which he replied with a glare.
"What’s wrong with having sex? In fact I read some evidenced based research that suggests sexual intimacy is good and healthy for a pregnant woman." Andrew countered with a steady voice like someone speaking in a business meeting.
Anne wanted to bury her face in the pillows. Could she not be here while they were having this conversation?
It was embarrassing for her alright?
"That might be true but, rigorous sexual activity can wear the woman out. Sexual release indeed let’s out some hormones in the female body that can be calming and good for the woman, but in cases where she has these symptoms of fatigue, it is advisable to keep sexual activity minimal and not too frequent."
"You said it yourself, sex brings good hormones, isn’t that something she needs right now? Why are you suggesting to keep sexual activity minimal, that is countering your own expert assumptions." Andrew still didn’t back down arguing on the subject and Anne truly wanted to disappear.
Could they both just stop talking?
If this headache didn’t kill her she might just die from embarrassment.
And this giant tornado, did he have to do openly tell the doctor that he was having sex with her?
So shameless!
"Yes, it does seem like countering my opinions but remember I’m the expert here, and if you want your wife healthy and not experiencing these occasionally pains you’ll keep your hands off her."
In order for the argument to come to an end already Anne quickly chimed in.
"I understand, doctor Reynolds, I’ll keep that in mind."
Shawn nodded understandingly.
"At least your wife is a lot more reasonable." Shawn muttered giving Andrew a triumphant glance before going on to explain some things to Anne. Do’s and dont’s in early pregnancy and signs of complications in pregnancy if there would be any.
After which the doctor left and Andrew escorted the Shawn out.
Anne slipped out of Andrew’s room at the moment, going back into her own bedroom. She was already feeling some relief from her headache so she could move without feeling dizzy.
A short while later, Andrew returned to his bedroom feeling frustrated.
What the hell did Shawn think he was doing telling him not to touch his own wife.
Did pregnancy really have this many rules?
He still had a lot planned for the next time he would have her again, his head was filled with dirty images he couldn’t wait to play out, he was only just getting started he hadn’t even taught her how to...
He stopped himself, suppressing the images lest they conjure up his desire and he wouldn’t be able to keep them down.
And to make matters worse, he returned to his room but she wasn’t there. All he met were the rumpled sheets on his bed and the woman was nowhere to be seen.
"Why does this girl keep running from me?"
Damnit, he could literally lose his mind right now!
