Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 235: Angry Bird
Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Angry Bird
Aurora wasn’t satisfied. Who would? Her sister was humiliated for months. How can she be satisfied seeing them getting off so easily?
She will punish them a little each day, till they break and confess their crime to the cops, and even then, she wouldn’t let them go!
So what if they had used money to get away before?
She now had money too. All those who had f*cked her family before... it was now their time to pay.
By the evening, Adriana regained her consciousness. Seeing Olivia and Aurora’s worried faces, she asked in a confused voice,
"Huh? Where am I? And why are you looking at me like that?"
Aurora bit her lips and asked with a heavy heart,
"Sister, you..."
"Nothing, you fainted in your classroom and Lucas brought you back." Olivia immediately interrupted.
Adriana blinked before scrunching her brows in confusion,
"Was that the case? How come I can’t remember anything?"
Olivia chuckled and nudged Adriana lightly on the arm. "You fell asleep in class like a baby," she teased. "Lucas saw you snoozing and said you looked too peaceful to wake up. So he just brought you home."
Adriana blinked, then frowned a little, trying to think back. "Really? Huh... I don’t remember any of that." She rubbed the back of her head, still puzzled.
Then, her stomach gave a small growl. She looked down, then placed a hand on it and laughed softly. "I’m hungry. What time is it?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Aurora quickly glanced at the clock and said, "It’s seven."
Adriana nodded and pushed the blanket off. "Alright. I’m going to make some noodles. You guys want some?"
Aurora and Olivia immediately perked up. "Yes!" they both said in unison.
Adriana grinned. "Spicy for you, right Aurora? And less spicy for Olivia?"
They nodded together like little kids. Adriana giggled and headed to the kitchen, tying her hair up in a loose ponytail.
As soon as she disappeared behind the corner, Aurora’s smile faded. She turned to Olivia, her brows pinched in confusion.
"Why did you stop me?" she whispered, eyes dark. "I was going to ask her what really happened. Why did you cut me off?"
Olivia’s expression was calm, but serious. She looked toward the kitchen to make sure Adriana wasn’t listening, then turned back to Aurora.
"She’s pretending," Olivia said softly.
Aurora blinked. "Pretending? You mean... she remembers?"
Olivia nodded.
"Yeah. You can’t lose your memory from a panic attack, Aurora. Not like that. Panic attacks... they’re painful, scary, and people always remember parts of it. Because it hurts. A lot."
Aurora’s throat tightened. "Then... why is she lying?"
Olivia looked down for a second before answering, her voice low.
"Because she doesn’t want us to know how bad it was. She’s protecting us, Aurora. She doesn’t want us to worry. So she’s acting like she forgot."
Aurora stood there, stunned. Her lips parted slightly.
"She’s protecting us?" she whispered, more to herself than Olivia. "Even after what happened to her?"
Her eyes filled with tears, but she bit her lip hard, trying to keep them from falling.
"That idiot..." she choked out, wiping her eyes quickly. "Why is she always thinking about others first?"
Olivia gently squeezed Aurora’s hand. "Because she thinks she is the eldest, she needs to take responsibility for everything."
That was how every eldest child is trained.
Be responsible and be a good example to your younger siblings.
Always be ready to give in to your younger siblings.
Be there for younger siblings when parents are away.
In this way, the younger siblings grow up safe and sound, while the eldest? Sadly, there is no one for them.
Sure, they had received most love from their parents as the first child, but to say that they are completely spoiled, without being given a responsibility, would be a lie.
Aurora stared at Olivia. She didn’t say anything, but in her heart, she understood what Olivia had left unsaid.
The pressure of being the eldest... the invisible weight Adriana had carried all this time.
Always smiling.
Always holding it together.
Even now, after what happened, she still acted like she was okay. Just so Aurora and Olivia wouldn’t be scared.
Aurora’s chest ached. She wanted to cry, but she didn’t. Instead, she looked at Olivia.
Olivia had gone quiet, her fists clenched at her sides.
In her heart, Olivia was thinking:
’Henry... those jerks... all of them will pay for what they did to Adriana today. Not just a small payback. I’ll give them a prize they’ll never forget.’
Then, Olivia smiled and turned to Aurora.
"Don’t think so much, okay?" she said, her voice soft again. "I’ll handle it. Leave everything to me."
Aurora narrowed her eyes a little. "What do you mean ’you’ll handle it’?"
But Olivia just chuckled, stepping away.
"Nothing. Don’t think too hard about it. Go join Adriana in the kitchen. She’s probably overcooking the noodles again."
Aurora watched her carefully for a second. Something didn’t feel right. Olivia’s smile looked too perfect. Too calm.
She’s hiding something, Aurora thought. But what?
Before she could say anything, the front door opened.
Lucas and Theodore walked in.
Aurora’s head turned instantly. The moment she saw their faces, she knew something was wrong.
Both boys looked tired and defeated. Their shoulders drooped, and they weren’t smiling at all.
"What happened?" Aurora asked right away, stepping toward them.
But Lucas’s eyes quickly darted to the couch where Adriana was now sitting, holding a bowl of noodles in her lap and looking sleepy.
Lucas forced a smile and waved his hand. "Nothing serious. We went shopping... but we couldn’t find the socks we wanted."
"Yeah," Theodore added, scratching the back of his head. "Total waste of time."
At their words, Olivia let out a laugh. "You guys are so dramatic. It’s just socks!"
Lucas gave her a fake glare. "These weren’t just any socks. They were special edition superhero socks."
"Limited time only," Theodore nodded, playing along.
"Oh no," Olivia teased, clutching her chest like it was the end of the world. "Whatever will we do without them?"
Theodore rolled his eyes, then he looked at Adriana and suddenly walked up to her, hugged her.
The atmosphere turned tense.
Before anyone could react, Adriana asked stiffly,
"Why are you hugging me?"
"I..." Theodore paused before sitting beside her and continuing to hug her.
"Sis. I am very upset."
Adriana’s breathing fastened and she gulped lightly, before asking in a soft voice,
"Who made you upset?"
She feared the answer was... ’you’
Theodore sensed her tension; meanwhile, Olivia tried to intervene when Lucas stopped her and shook his head.
"Sis, no girl wants to date me." Theodore said with a serious expression as he pulled away and then pointed at his hair, complaining like a child, "They say that my red hair makes me look like an angry bird!"
A furious expression appeared on his face as he gritted his teeth and said,
"Who will tell them that this is my unique beauty and I was born with it! Are they jealous of me because I look much better than they?"
Olivia blinked once.
Then twice.
And then...
"PFFT!" she burst out laughing, nearly dropping her bowl. "Angry bird?! Oh my god, Theo, they’re not wrong!"
Lucas doubled over, clutching his stomach.
"Dude, with that red hair sticking out in all directions, you do look like one of those birds that just got launched from a slingshot!"
Aurora snorted.
"You know what? I’ve been wondering why you always look like you’ve been struck by lightning. Now I know... it’s not lightning. It’s just heartbreak and hair dye."
"It’s NOT hair dye!" Theodore wailed dramatically, throwing his arms in the air.
"I was born this way! I’m a rare natural burgundy! I dyed my hair just a bit red!"
"Right," Olivia said, grinning. "Just like how unicorns are real."
"I AM real!" Theodore shouted, then turned to Adriana, who was biting her lip, trying not to laugh.
"Sis!" he clung to her arm like a little kid. "Look at them bullying me! Tell them I’m handsome! Tell them my hair is amazing!"
Adriana tried to keep a straight face, but she was already shaking from trying not to laugh.
"Uhm..." she coughed into her hand. "Well, you are... unique?"
"Unique?!" Theodore’s face dropped. "That’s what people say before calling someone weird!"
Lucas leaned in with a grin. "Exactly."
"Oh, come on!" Theodore stood up like a theater actor giving a speech.
"This is injustice! I am a fashion icon. My hair is the color of royalty, of power, of burning passion..."
"...of ketchup," Olivia cut in.
"...of chili sauce," Aurora added.
"...of the ’X’ when you get an answer wrong in a quiz show," Lucas said, poking Theodore’s head.
"YAAAH!" Theodore flopped back onto the couch, dramatically covering his face. "You guys are evil! EVIL!"
Olivia leaned over and whispered loudly to Adriana, "He’s just mad no girl wants to date a tomato."
