Boiling Beast Bloodline-Chapter 2177 - 670: Two Against One (Part 1)
Today, the boss chose a location for digging the tunnel that’s farther from Sabak. Although this means everyone will have to sweat a little more, from a safety perspective, it is undoubtedly a wise and cautious approach. The Bimon archers shoot as fast as lightning. Turan personally witnessed five overlords freshly transferred from the homeland bravely gliding towards Sabak, only to be shot down mid-air.
The underground tunnel quickly took shape. The Dungeon Race, accustomed to the sturdy permafrost of the Demon World, found it easy to demonstrate their digging skills in the soft Aegean soil.
The newcomer Daniel was the first to go down into the tunnel, ready to take over from the boss and continue digging forward.
"Remember, don’t dig too far ahead, just enough for the five of us to stay inside," unexpectedly, Team Leader Strong Johnson opened his mouth. He used his scythe-like main claw to stop Daniel and whispered this instruction.
The boss’s two old subordinates remained silent, maintaining a vigilant posture, seemingly well aware that he would say this.
Turan’s compound eyes suddenly lit up. She immediately understood why Strong Johnson was the earliest member of the Dungeon Volunteer Army, and why none of the Dungeon Archers who entered the Donau Wasteland earlier were seen.
"Boss, do you mean for us to hide underground like cowards?" Daniel, fresh from the homeland, was stunned for a good half day, then suddenly roared and glared at his team leader: "I’m going to report your cowardly behavior to the higher-ups. You don’t deserve to have ’Strong’ as an embellishment before your name!"
"You mouthy brat!" The team leader sneered, grabbing Daniel’s jaw with his scythe-like claw. He brought his recently blinded hollow left eye close to the foolish young man’s perfectly intact compound eye: "If you want to return alive, you’d better follow my instructions immediately!"
"Listen to the boss, Daniel!" Turan feared the young man, in a fit of hot-headedness, might do something foolish: "After all, the death hunt games only happen during the day. As long as we last till nightfall, we can safely finish up. Don’t cause trouble for everyone. We’re not here to sacrifice for the Sea Clan; there will be battlefields for you to prove your worth in the future!"
The female Dungeon referred to the current battlefield unwritten rules both the Beamon Archers and the Dungeon Archers adhere to. When the South Cross Star rises, the death hunt games between the Beamon and Dungeon automatically cease, and even in close encounters, no one violates this rule.
In fact, it’s not just about the death hunt games. As soon as night falls, Sabak City and its surroundings automatically shift to a peaceful state, which has been tacitly accepted by both Beamon and Sea Clans.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the Sea Clan hosts large-scale concerts beneath the city, using deep octave dolphin sounds to let the Beamon experience what it’s like to have "magic music melting into the brain" up close. Meanwhile, the Beamon open the four city gates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, publicly screening real-time Imperial Vision in the open outskirts, free for Sea Clan soldiers to enjoy.
The gentlemanly demeanor displayed by the two opposing camps is something Demon Clan archers greatly admire. Every time a Siren’s concert starts, a few Bimon warriors would run over to enjoy the live performance, but never would Sea Clan warriors rely on their numbers to deliberately harm them. Furthermore, the Beamon’s Imperial Vision never uses footage like the "Witherspoon Campaign," "Sabak Air Battle," or "Forgotten Valley Battle" where the Sea Clan suffered great losses to shame them in psychological warfare. They only show performances like the "Subterranean Saline Marsh Battle" or "South Cross Star Divine Realm War," which are unrelated to the Sea Clan, occasionally adding a story play or two self-directed and acted by the Shaman of Divine Songs from the Bimon Kingdom.
Just like Sea Clan warriors, Demon Clan archers are very fond of the Imperial Vision broadcast by the Beamon, especially the story play "Lady". On the elemental screen, the performer Ning Yu truly managed to move countless passionate young men to tears, while the Great Villain played by the Bimon Shaman of Divine Songs mesmerized many.
Even though Turan knew that this Bimon Shaman was the butcher who slaughtered countless compatriots, for some reason, after watching, she had hopelessly fallen for the silver-eyed traitor, even repeatedly fantasizing sinfully about whether, during the massacre of four cities’ Demon Clan compatriots, he wore an upscale, sharp leather trench coat, politely knocked on doors in the dead of night, finger by finger removing his white gloves, admiring the paintings on the walls and sculptures in the rooms, complimenting the host’s artistic taste and the hostess’s elegance and grace, or playing a famous tune on a Bone Flute taken from the wall himself, or sipping on a Mugwort beer with the host while discussing philosophy — even killing exuded a sense of aristocratic elegance and calm composure.
"Are you still Demon Clan?"
A roar shattered Turan’s wandering fantasies into nothing.
Upon regaining his freedom, Daniel, who appeared to have submitted, exhibited an impulsiveness that caught team leader Strong Johnson off guard.
"Retreat immediately!" The boss swiftly drew four long spears and expertly plunged them into his hip joints, rapidly darting backward.
Turan and the two other companions frantically followed suit. Were there a Beamon archer lurking in the thigh-high grass nearby, Daniel’s earlier roar would undoubtedly have sent the Boulder Squad into a death trap.
The very thing feared happened!
An arrow, skimming the ground with a piercing whistling sound, brandishing blistering flames, instantly penetrated the stunned Daniel. The arrowhead slipped under his forepaw into his abdomen, exploding into a blaze of fiery fragments, hurling his massive body heavily into the air.
