Boiling Beast Bloodline-Chapter 2150 - 664: Hornet’s Nest_3
The accumulated foundation of a thousand-year sect is indeed important, but the attitude of the Tang Zang Empire’s government institutions toward the rogues of the martial world is becoming increasingly apparent every year. Even without the matter of the "God of Wealth Jade Basin," the Jade Emperor had already considered moving—continuing to flaunt on the Silk Continent, there’s no telling when the Tang Zang government might draw their butcher’s knife. If the martial world rogues truly faced off against those elite Jin Wu masters, they’d surely end in mutual destruction.
In times of chaos, prosperity reigns; in times of peace, collapse follows. This has clearly become the natural order for the development and expansion of the Divine Beast Association. It’s laughable that, living in an era of a powerful empire, many Divine Beasts still can’t see through this truth and continue to harbor illusions.
The city currently occupied by the Jade Emperor has a relatively nice geographical environment, with a primitive forest and vast mountains behind it, surrounded by both mountains and water. The city is built inside a warm extinct volcano, unlike the previous city he encountered, which was all buried underground like an earthworm’s nest.
The longer the Jade Emperor stays here, the more he feels the world is unbelievably messed up. The cold and warm temperature differences are tolerable, but sudden little earthquakes that cause shaking are not. Building a base in an underground city might just get you buried alive by an earthquake; the Jade Emperor doesn’t want to have lived like a hero all his life only to die so miserably.
The city has a natural resource condition that the Jade Emperor finds irresistible—mountains nearby are rich in various kinds of jade, including rare magnetic jade that can attract each other like magnets!
It’s unbelievable to the Jade Emperor that the dwarves in this city are so arrogant—they can soften jade with a steamer and then forge it like iron into various vessels and weapons without carving.
In a recent looting operation, the Jade Emperor saw an abundance of crystal products in this world—this once made the people of Flower Court think they struck it rich until they traveled more, and the Eastern Divine Beasts realized how ridiculous it was to be carrying an array of crystal vessels on them.
Accepting this lesson is quite helpless. The Jade Emperor had always wanted to communicate with the natives here to obtain the information he wanted; unfortunately, due to different languages, communication was always difficult.
Only recently did the Flower Court army finally capture a prisoner with considerable strength who could communicate through thoughts. Even though this prisoner had a pair of annoyingly glowing silver eyes, the Jade Emperor still restrained himself and spared his life. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
From the prisoner, the Jade Emperor learned that this place is actually the Coast Contribution Continent of the Demon World, not the Continent of Juan; he learned that the silver-eyed people are called Silver Eyes, not remnants of a former dynasty; he learned that the sea here doesn’t contain water but rather toxic fog; he learned that crystal here is cheaper than steel; he learned that the territory here is even larger than the Silk Continent, and earthquakes and volcanoes are commonplace; he learned that there’s always been two suns and moons here, and there are three emperors, all surnamed Wu, known as the Demon Kings.
The Jade Emperor was not very concerned about this information. What he most wanted to find out was the whereabouts of the "God of Wealth Jade Basin."
Without an answer, the Jade Emperor initially thought the prisoner was deliberately not cooperating. The bandit who pillaged Flower Court led a regular army armed to the teeth, clearly no ordinary individual; the Jade Emperor did not believe such a figure would remain obscure in the Demon World.
After torturing the prisoner severely, the Jade Emperor had to admit with helplessness and pain that this prisoner indeed was not lying; he truly had never heard of the "God of Wealth Jade Basin"! However, the Jade Emperor finally understood one thing: in the Demon World, only those strong Winged Knights among the Silver Eyes have command authority, at least narrowing down the range of suspicious individuals within a certain area.
The second piece of good news the Jade Emperor learned from the tortured and disfigured prisoner was: the jade production in the Demon World is very scarce, currently only three cities on the Coast Contribution Continent produce it, and the just-conquered Fiyada City by the Flower Court army happens to be one of them!
Just like having more money in your pocket allows you to buy more goods, the Jade Emperor’s combat effectiveness greatly depends on the quantity of jade stones around him; limited by the loading capacity of his Naya equipment, he did not carry much jade with him this time; to run into a jade capital in the complete darkness of the Demon World purely by chance, the Jade Emperor could find no other explanation than divine will.
If a base is to be established, besides Fiyada City, where else could be more suitable?
Ultimately, should they leave or stay? To make the right decision, the entire Flower Court leadership spent half a day discussing.
If they continued to wander and engage in guerrilla warfare, the advantages are obvious: it would avoid direct conflict with the Demon World’s government talons, better preserving their strength; but the disadvantages are equally apparent: the natural environment here is too harsh, especially with extreme cold at night freezing waterfalls into glaciers, continuing to roam outside is practically suicidal.
Stopping to establish a base allows them to recuperate and wash off the dust of travel, and here, rich in jade, it is a match made in heaven for the Flower Court and the Jade Emperor, both of whom need to find a piece of land to take root sooner or later; of course, there are downsides: once entrenched here, skirmishes are inevitable, and no matter how useless the Demon World government is, they won’t stand by watching a group of fierce outsiders take root.
