Boiling Beast Bloodline-Chapter 2110 - 657: Unexpected Discovery (Part 3)
In times of turmoil, no warlord wishes for anything less than a strong military force under their command. Faced with over two hundred disarmed surrendering Naga mages, Old Liu thought long and hard and ultimately had to grit his teeth and make a painful decision. The Old Swan’s exemplary action, which shamed him, was one reason, and the risk of planting more than two hundred time bombs for the Summer Palace Protector Group was another.
However, everyone had confidence in controlling a small number of mage prisoners. Old Liu, Rommel, and other factions all had this in mind; but they seemed to underestimate the Nagas. How could the Naga mages dare to separate from most of their companions? Liu Zhenshock was initially planning to single out and capture the five highest-ranked six-armed Nagas, but this action nearly led to a collective revolt among the Naga mages.
Unlike others, Feilengcui had captured a Naga mage last year. This young woman had long been corrupted by the indulgent life of the Red Earth Highland, having forgotten her roots. Upon receiving orders from her boss, she traveled a great distance from Feilengcui, using her persuasive tongue to finally convince the leader of the Hainaga mage group to come to Feilengcui to take on the role of magic instructor — Feilengcui, of course, prepared a stick as well as a carrot. The over two hundred Naga mages were already surrounded by a group of Mammoth warriors holding gleaming war blades. The Naga mage group’s leader had to weigh the cold-blooded intentions lurking behind the eyes of these Orephin giants.
Truth be told, the conditions Liu Zhenshock offered were something a prisoner of war could only dream of enjoying. He only needed the Naga leader, named Boris, to promise never to be enemies with the Aegean race again and to complete his duties as Feilengcui’s magic instructor. Once done, the War God Summer Palace would release him unconditionally.
Others may have thought Old Liu was coveting Boris’s power — this Naga captain already had a protrusion at his rib, soon to advance to a seven-armed Naga; but Rommel knew well what Feilengcui’s Lord was truly after: Sea Clan mages are different from land mages. They haven’t developed the "eleven-man magic basic formation" and "hook blind-point fire control," but they’ve developed magic strategy and tactics theory that rivals humans known as the "double magic combination"! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
The formations and magic fire control developed by Aegean humans are either known for their layered firepower, continuous and dense, or dominate through pinpoint strikes, vowing to achieve the greatest results at the smallest cost. The Sea Clan’s magic combinations instead study shooting angles and power-mixing combat theories, fully utilizing the coverage rate and mixed effects of magical firepower. Especially with dual-system magic cooperation, turning straight-line shooting into curved-barrage attacks, not only increasing mixed power and coverage but also greatly offsetting the high-ground advantage of defending mages during siege battles.
In the Battle of Oil Hill, though Naga mages were consistently suppressed by Lucien mages, they did briefly display imaginative spell combination attacks in the initial stage — "Ground Tornado" + "Phoenix Burst." Both spells are low-level single-unit attack magic, with the wind magic "Ground Tornado" lifting a target unit tens of meters high into the sky and then slamming it down, while the plant-system spell "Phoenix Burst" relies on an elemental phoenix ball striking the enemy, violently bursting bones and causing short-range splash damage within a ten-yard radius, somewhat similar to a Goblin magic shark warrior’s self-detonation.
The spell combination of the Naga mages sounds fairly mundane at first glance: using the "Hurricane Tornado" to carry the "Phoenix Burst" high into the air and then slamming it hard into dense crowds. Compared to using these two spells individually, while "Hurricane Tornado" might kill one less enemy, the straight-line shooting of "Phoenix Burst" transforms into a blooming center, generating an additional 180-degree fan-shaped kill radius and a closer splash damage range — essentially akin to Old Liu’s grenade play; exploding pre-set fragments in front of the enemy formation is nowhere near as effective as throwing it amidst a dense crowd.
The attack route of "Phoenix Burst" was originally linear, but paired with "Hurricane Tornado," it’s akin to adding an arm for grenade throwing, not to mention a precisely guided, long-distance super arm.
Too simple!
No need for detailed analysis or study; the usage principles of such a dual-magic combination attack are immediately apparent.
In fact, the Bimon war songs had long since emerged with combination blessings, such as "Stone Skin" + "Agility", or "Spirit Communication" + "Berserk", with nothing overly complicated about them. Since humanity delivered the live footage of the Lize City battle, Feilengcui’s Magic Protectors eagerly began imitating the Sea Clan mages’ "Torrential Rain Waterfall" + "Triple Lightning" combination attack in daily training, hoping to reach the cocktail spell attack power of that level.
Curiously, no matter how Magic Protectors strained their efforts to imitate, they could never achieve the seamless cooperation of the Sea Clan mages. "Torrential Rain Waterfall" remained "Torrential Rain Waterfall," and "Thunderbolt Column" remained "Thunderbolt Column," unable to merge into powerful cocktail spells.
Saying it a thousand times isn’t as good as practicing once. On paper, it didn’t seem difficult, but once training began, the deeper they delved, the more Magic Protectors realized the "double magic combination" imposes incredibly strict requirements on positioning skills, coordination frequency, firepower elevation angles, timing, and shooting angles. Without expert guidance and training, who knows how long it would take to independently grasp the essence and key points within.
As the Magic Protectors joked to themselves, this "double magic combination" was as seemingly simple as writing, drawing, dancing, or fighting, but in reality, it was as difficult as climbing to the heavens!
Who can glance at the oil painting "Saint" and instantly become the great painter Titian?
Who can see Nedved wielding a bow and immediately become the divine archer Zither?
Liu Zhenshock couldn’t care less; if conditions allowed, he advances. If they didn’t, he creates conditions to advance. He was determined to master the "double magic combination"!
Feilengcui, unlike human mages, doesn’t have an incredibly complicated and varied magic spectrum. With Golden Dwarves and Freshwater Mermaids as the backbone, one electric, the other water, in sufficient numbers and uniform spectrum, not only were they suited to learn human magic formations and fire control attacks, they’re even more suited to learn the "double magic combination"!
What does the overall quality of the army mean? It means decisive advantage!
As long as the most advanced tactical theories are fully disseminated, even if the Summer Palace Protector doesn’t have a single genius, a chaotic rabble composed of all the geniuses won’t be their match!
After divvying up the spoils, Liu Zhenshock took the special envoy of the Dubin Kingdom and Bonaparte Medusa back to Feilengcui.
Initially, he just wanted a conversation with the Bonaparte Medusa envoy, but when all the idle parties suddenly descended on the Naga, the combat prowess exhibited by the Dubinians — descendants of the jungle Voodoo Giants, Rexa’s offspring — was undeniable and demanded thorough inquiry.
While it wasn’t unexpected for Bonaparte Medusa to summon magical companions, it was unexpected that someone in the Dubin Kingdom envoy group would do the same, causing him to ponder.
Although the Dubinians used Falcon Emblems instead of Medusa Badges to summon their magical companions, the elemental fluctuations of the Hibernation Boundary war song couldn’t possibly evade the perception of the Shaman of Divine Songs!
"Second brother, why are there also clergy among the Dubinians?" Liu Zhenshock grabbed Kaka’s ear: "Why didn’t you tell me earlier?"
"You never asked!" Kaka winced in pain: "Rexa is a clergy; why wouldn’t the nation he established have clergy? Besides, in the Dubin Kingdom, they don’t call them clergy!"
"What do they call them?"
"Beast King!"
