Chapter 2009: Chapter 640: Needle Point vs. Wheat Awn

On the summer’s Primitive Ancient Origin, wild grass is lush and abundant, and taking a pleasing nap in the soft grass nest every day is a life even the gods would envy.

Napoleon, the little giant Iverson, was lying in the grass, having a sweet dream. He dreamt he married four beautiful wives; a Frost Giant beauty, a Sky Giant beauty, a Mist Giant beauty, and a Hill Giant beauty, but no Flame Giant beauty. On the wedding night, "the Answer" realized that all four wives were too tall! These four wives were so enormous, how was life going to go on?

So Iverson went to his boss, asking how to resolve this.

"Tomorrow, I’ll head to the Dwarf Empire to propose on your behalf, marrying their princess!" the boss said fiercely. "Isn’t that simple enough?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Isn’t that inappropriate... what if... what if they disagree? What if they don’t fancy me?" Iverson hesitated, feeling quite embarrassed, "The Dwarves are very hot-tempered."

"Even the most hot-tempered person stands before me as gentle as jade," the boss said with absolute confidence. "Whether they fancy you or not, if it doesn’t work out, we just snatch them!"

"Sweat... won’t that make us bandit tyrants?" Iverson, who’s been reading recently, knew cultural studies were a foundational compulsory subject for the Summer Palace Guard, and such behavior seemed far from "the Answer’s" life views and values.

"If you pay them, isn’t it just a transaction then?"

"But what about my four giant wives?"

"Give them all to me! Haha! Your boss loves large mares!"

"Huh???" Iverson was so shocked that he woke up from his sweet dream.

The bone-connecting treasure box in his arms let out sounds of low growls from Arcane Beasts, tickling "the Answer’s" chest numbly. After wiping the cold sweat from his face, Iverson stretched lazily with half-closed eyes and took out the treasure box to answer the call.

"What are you doing over there?" Staff Chief Rovi cursed angrily on the other end of the bone-connecting box, "I’ve been pinging your coordinates half the day; get on with the planned mission immediately!"

Iverson flipped up from the grass nest and realized he slept so sweetly that he forgot what he came to do.

He summoned the Blade Spider from the Hibernation Badge, and "the Answer" mounted the saddle, gazing intently northward, his line of sight completely blocked by the tightly sealed shell of the Sea Clan’s camp in the distance.

"Darn it! This is bad, this is bad... my first mission and I’ve messed up..." Iverson took out the "artist’s mask" from his arms and put it on, a gift from Mourinho to the boss. He rubbed it vigorously, and when he looked up again, his facial features had completely transformed into a miniature version of the Banilou Warrior Figo’s face, and two long whale whiskers confidently swayed in the breeze.

Iverson admired his new face in the blade gun’s reflective surface, pleased with it. After pinching off the pimples on his lips with a flick of the whiskers, he shook the reins, and the Blade Spider carried the brave giant knight, stealthily heading toward the rear of the Hai Mu Legion’s base camp, twenty miles away, through the tall grass.

Behind-the-lines assaults were a signature tactic of the Summer Palace Guard, used during the Desert Oasis campaign, though that was too direct, with airborne cavalry carrying the Vajra magic teleportation array to flank the enemy. This time, the boss and the staff chief wanted to play it more covertly, like learning from the regular army.

The grass and shrubs on the plain were at their lushest of the year. Through a magic teleportation array left a hundred miles away, Iverson had been stealthily lurking behind the Hai Mu combined army’s base camp for half a day, waiting for the opportune moment to strike a decisive blow.

One must admit, the diminutive stature, once a source of shame, happened to earn him this glorious task.

Facing Witherspoon’s south gate city wall, the Hai Mu combined army was indeed a well-trained elite force. They did not relax their vigilance due to their large numbers and many generals. Even at the back of their base camp, there were constantly patrols of camel cavalry and ray cavalry coming and going.

Due to being in such a rush, the Hai Mu combined army, having just set up camp and immediately commenced the siege, hadn’t dug trenches or erected watchtowers and abatises. Using his short stature, Iverson quietly infiltrated on the Blade Spider through the tall grass and shrubs, taking advantage of the gap during the patrol rotation of two Hai Mu cavalry teams, slipping into the Hai Mu combined army’s base camp.

Even with the high proficiency of the Mulanese and Sea Clan armies, mixing them together still allowed for exploitable gaps.

Iverson wasn’t worried about exposing his trail— infiltration or assault were both part of the combat plans.

Using the cover of camp barracks made of spiral shells, Iverson entered the Hai Mu combined army’s base camp without incident. The further he ventured inside, the denser the population became; Napoleon, the little giant knight on his Blade Spider, no longer dodged but swaggered about, confidently charging through.

Along the way, countless craftsmen were sweating profusely, sawing and axing wood. Heaps of Ancient Forest Trees were piled high in the camp, and not a single person noticed the little giant knight.

The composition of the Hai Mu combined army was indeed too mixed and numerous. With such a variety of races intermingled, even ordinary soldiers and craftsmen couldn’t discern the rank and file, and even senior officers were equally perplexed.
