Boiling Beast Bloodline-Chapter 1256 - 347: Saint Level Spells
Chapter 1256: Chapter 347: Saint Level Spells
In the Mulan Empire, or even throughout the entire Taklamago Desert, Phantom Beast Knights are the undisputed super warriors. Aside from the extremely rare Pterosaur Knights, Phantom Beast Knights virtually have no natural predators, which also endows the Air Corps with a unique advantage—if they could not overpower the enemy, retreat was always an option.
The "Ryujin Pangolin," a type of Phantom Beast, could endlessly refresh its metal protective layers. Though it lacked offensive power, its impact resistance was exceptionally remarkable! The Metal Fly Armors shaped from these Phantom Beasts also possessed the same superior impact resistance. Coupled with the standard-issue weapon each flying knight carried—a five-shot crossbow that could pierce metal within a range of one hundred and fifty yards and composite crossbow bolts imbued with the power of flame and lightning—, an air formation of two hundred Sudan Phantom Beast Knights absolutely had the strength to contend with the Pterosaur Knights.
The Mulan Empire had only two Pterosaur Knights, but neither served in the Royal Imperial Guard. So from the very day they were established, the eight hundred Phantom Beast Knights of the four major Imperial Guard corps existed for the strategic purpose of countering Pterosaur Knights. Of course, the four hundred Desert Vulture Knights from the western province’s Flying Camel Army also represented a potential adversary worth confronting.
From the moment strange occurrences began in Kalimantan City, the Phantom Beast Knight Commander, Serazibagh, who was summoned by the great Sudan Emperor from the front lines to be specifically in charge of protecting His Highness Caliph, was on alert at once.
At that time, this Mulan Mojie was entertaining himself with a bewitchingly lovely maidservant, when suddenly, a booming explosion jolted him into action, a valiant Mulan warrior displaying his rapid response capabilities. He lunged for his matching sword and crossbow.
As a top-level Mulan Mojie who had spent years in the heat of battle, Serazibagh had seen more bloodshed than the average person had drunk camel milk; he possessed a hyena-like intuition for sensing and anticipating danger. From the sound of the explosions, he smelled an unusual and forcefully murderous aura attacking the senses!
When this renowned Mulan warrior burst from his room, disheveled, Kalimantan had already changed. Though the sun remained the same, as did the air, there was an addition—a familiar scent...
It was not the delicate fragrance of apples, nor the profound aroma of grapes...
Nor the luxurious scent of the gold-like expensive sandalwood spice...
It was the stench of blood and slaughter!
Birds circling above Kalimantan flew panic-stricken into the distance, while hunting dogs within the city howled ferociously and then whimpered with their tails between their legs, in bleak despair.
When two hundred Phantom Beast Knights took to the skies under the command of Knight Commander Serazibagh, he quickly understood why his heart was pounding so fiercely. freёnovelkiss-com
Kalimantan City was already awash in a tempest of blood and guts; this province, known for its prosperity and strength, had turned into a hell.
Starting from the western part of the city, like a swarm of sewer rats scavenging for food or an Ant Army migrating en masse before a torrential downpour, four sizable military forces had carved a path of carnage and blood along the main roads. Cavalry led the way with infantry following, taking lives and slaughtering beasts as they advanced rapidly to the accompaniment of gruffly sung battle hymns; the soldiers became unbridled beasts. Buildings collapsed, passersby screamed, and blood flowed into rivulets. The sharp blades and spears rained down like a bloody storm upon the parched land, no longer sprinkled by dust, as blood now moistened the dry earth.
From above, the Phantom Beast Knights beheld a vivid trail of red stretching behind these armies on the ground, winding and conspicuous; giant fireballs rising incessantly from the city walls and the splatter of blood and flesh. The sky filled with a throng of flying Giant Beasts; for a moment, all the Phantom Beast Knights felt as though they had plummeted into an icy abyss.
Those enormous, double-headed creatures bore a savage and vast appearance, like the Flying Lizards. Their translucent armor, of unknown material, oozed with multi-colored bright spots that under the scorching desert sun reflected dizzying, neon-like shimmers of beauty. Astride these flying behemoths were mighty knights with robust figures and horns upon their heads. They either hurled screaming baskets that burst into giant fireballs, black clouds, and shattered limbs, or swept through with searingly hot beams, opening wails of agony and the stench of char across the City Walls. The thunderous din and ghastly sights made even the bravest of the Mulan Mojies tremble with fear.
The Phantom Beast Knights had not even mustered the courage to face these adversaries, whose numbers were nearly double their own, when they spotted five daunting Magical Beast Knights charging from afar.
Two immense Firebirds, a skeletal Giant Snake, and a Pegasus running wild in the sky, along with a two-headed golden Flying Lizard—Heaven knows how these formidable foes had arrived at Kalimantan City!
The Phantom Beast Knights were bewildered until the loud rallying cry of Knight Commander Serazibagh brought them to their senses, and they hastily and nervously took up formation for battle.
Then two more armies appeared: one advanced along the city’s base, with three tremendous metal creatures demolishing everything in their path, showering the City Walls with meteoric fireballs trailing flames. The infantry behind them swept away obstacles in an even more direct manner. The other army took a beeline towards the highly visible royal palace, a force equipped with full body armor—a war machine.
