Chapter 79: Heading To The Blue House

The first thing Noah did in the morning was call Matthew to meet him. He wanted to ask him about the invitation to the business banquet at the presidential palace.

Noah was sitting at the dining table enjoying his breakfast, and not long after, Matthew joined him in the living room.

"Good morning, sir..."

"Good morning, Matthew," Noah greeted him warmly. "Please, have a seat and join me for breakfast," he gestured for Matthew to sit opposite, then signaled a staff member to prepare some breakfast for him.

"Thank you, sir..." Matthew sat opposite.

"Did I get an invitation from the Blue House?"

Matthew looked surprised before responding with a question: "How do you know that? I was just about to tell you this morning."

"Ah, so they invited me?" Noah feels impressed that Alexis knows he received the invitation as well.

"Yes, sir, they do invite you. You should know this is the first time the genuine owner of the Golden Phoenix Group has been invited. Usually, only the CEO of the Golden Phoenix receives such invitations."

Noah was surprised to know that. "Why do they never invite my father?"

"Because no one knew that your father was the true owner of the Golden Phoenix, it was recently exposed when he deliberately revealed it."

Noah chuckled softly upon hearing Matthew’s response. He felt as though his father had deliberately kept him busy after he inherited his wealth.

And now, he wasn’t sure whether to feel happy or sad about it.

"Sir, are you planning to attend? If so, I need to send the confirmation back to the Blue House."

Matthew’s question was enough to remind Noah of Alexis’ text message.

Last night, he hadn’t responded yet because he needed to confirm first. It would be embarrassing if he said yes, but they didn’t invite him.

’You really should consider coming, sir. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet more influential people at the banquet. Who knows, you might even meet your target there.’

Zoe’s voice makes Noah feel amused. This is the ninth or tenth time he has heard that from Zoe. And he’s never met those people.

However, he never once turned it down. Just like before, he chose to attend again.

...

As Noah approached the Blue House, the official residence of the country’s top figure, he finally sent a message to Alexis.

"See you at the Blue House!" From: Noah

Security at the place was extremely tight, and their vehicle had to stop several times before finally arriving at the drop-off area.

Since it was Matthew’s first visit to this place, Noah insisted on inviting Jason as his driver, recalling that Jason had been to the blue house twice during his military service.

Before the car came to a stop, Matthew glanced at Jason, his sorry gaze flashing in his eyes.

"Jason, I’m sorry you can’t join us inside. We only have two invitations, and we can’t even bring the security team along."

"Yes, Jason, sorry..." Noah added. He wanted Jason to come along, but he also needed Matthew.

Instead of replying to them, Jason chuckled. He parked the car in a designated drop-off zone and then turned to look at Noah and Matthew.

Jason asked playfully, "You both know I’ve visited this place twice, right?" Seeing their nods, he continued, "There’s no need to feel bad about it. Honestly, I get bored going inside, and Matty needs to step inside to learn more about Blue House. Right, Matty?"

Matthew smirked and shook his head fondly before opening the door and leaving the car, playfully chiding, "Tsk, tsk, here you go again, boasting about yourself..."

"Enjoy your dinner, my friend..." Jason waved with a chuckle as he saw him step out of the car.

Noah was speechless as he watched Matthew and Jason playfully tease each other.

’Since when have these two become so close? They even tease each other now.’ Noah started to get out of the car, but paused when Jason looked at him with a serious gaze.

"Noah, be careful inside. There’s no need to talk a lot to them. And trust Matthew; he knows all those people inside and..."

Jason’s voice faltered as a thought interrupted him. He intended to remind Noah, but the words he had prepared seemed to betray him. Instead, he clenched his teeth and stepped out of the car to open the door for Noah.

Seeing Jason’s tense expression, but with worry clearly shining from his eyes, Noah couldn’t help but ask, "What is it, Jason?"

"Nothing. I’m just a bit worried about you hanging out with those wealthy folks..." Jason forced a gentle smile as he softly patted Noah’s shoulder.

"Thank you so much, Jason. No need to worry about me; I know I’ll be just fine."

Noah responded before pulling something out of his suit pocket.

"Jason, you can hear anything inside and talk to me through this..." He handed him an advanced communication device.

Jason was stunned when he received the communication device in his hand, then looked at Noah.

"Did you know that you can’t bring anything inside? The security team will even take your cell phone?"

"I know..."

Noah smiled at Jason before walking away without waiting for him to say anything. He has a storage space where he puts everything. No one, not even scanning, could detect that.

"Oh, he has a way? That’s interesting! How does he do it?"

Jason mumbled anxiously as he saw Noah approaching the metal detector door, then hurriedly stepped into the car and left the drop-off area.

However, when Jason notices someone in his rearview mirror, his heart tightens as he grips the steering wheel more firmly.

"Damn it! I knew it! That old man probably came to this dinner too. I hope he didn’t run into Noah, or they’ll all be in trouble."

After parking his car, Jason waited a few more minutes before putting on the small earpiece that Noah had given him earlier.

He was shocked to hear a faint voice in his ear, which he recognized as Noah’s.

"What the... He can bring the communication device inside?"

"Hmm, I can.."

"You can hear me, too?" Jason was surprised.

He didn’t hear Noah say anything to him, but he heard Matthew’s voice.

Once again, Jason’s heart tightened as he heard Noah being introduced to Lucas Graham.

Instantly, he feels like his blood is rippling inside as anger begins to boil in his heart.

"Noah..." Jason whispered. "Avoid Lucas Graham. Whatever business he offers, steer clear of him. Otherwise, that man will ruin your life, just as he did to mine!"
