Blessed by Night-Chapter 369 Secret Scheme
*Tv Announcer* : It has been four weeks since the start of the incarceration of the notorious leader of the free world, Nathaniel Grant, and the end of the country's long standing civil tensions.
Some have hardly taken well to the changes posed by the new administration, while others referred to the plans posed by the joint teams of Morgan Creed and Awena Brenham as a breath of fresh air.
Opponents of the changes in legislation argue that the fractured government's attempted to put a band aid on the situation and as a result has proposed incredibly shortsighted moves.
Others add that keeping and enforcing policies enacted under the reign of an unofficial dictator is violently un-American.
These criticisms are being met by those who say that even though Arias' methods were bloody, his later administration's approval ratings were some of the highest ever recorded.
With the populations once again being counted as one under the American banner, the proceedings for an accurate consensus are already underway.
After the invasion of the alien race, the population seems to have been cut to a third, with early estimates predicting the number to be as a low as one hundred and thirteen million.
Among the public, the nation's newly crowned evolved make up less than 1% of the population, with their numbers situated at approximately 1,487.
Ongoing efforts to foster integration between the two sides are slow to progress.
A frequent worry remains that those who were supposedly our 'betters' just a short time ago will not take well to being our equals.
And with Arias' last warning still on the minds of many, it remains to be seen whether or not the next civil war will be right around the corne- *Click!*
Camille looked up in horror at her mother who was holding the remote.
"I could've sworn that most kids get up on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons and eat sugar cereal." Luna yawned. "Not watch the news at near full volume and wake up their parents."
It was currently seven in the morning, and there was a light gray sheen covering the sky outside.
All the ingredients that Luna needed to stay in bed all day long.
She wasn't the only one who felt like this either. Joanne hadn't even gotten up for her usual 5 a.m run.
The only reason Luna was even up this early was because her advanced vampire hearing could no longer contend with the sound of the morning news coming from within their living room.
"Ga."
"What do you mean this is why you need a television in your room?" Luna raised a brow as she clasped her robe closed. "I think not. You're not going to learn to start hoveling up in your room like B did when she was a teenager."
Camille flopped onto her back and groaned.
Luna could only roll her eyes at her overly dramatic daughter.
"That reminds me… it might be time for us to start finding you a pre-school, isn't it?"
Cami gasped.
"It'll be fun. And it'll do wonders for your social skills." Luna smiled.
"Ada! Bu!"
"No they are not 'good enough already'. You somehow inherited Anna and Joanne's people skills, which basically means you might as well not have any at all."
Camille couldn't believe that her mother was calling her out like this. In front of her stuffed animal no less!
Luna lifted Camille up by her legs and held her firmly underneath one arm.
"We can worry about all of that later. For now, just come get in the bed with mommies and daddy before they have to leave us." Luna paused and stared at her daughter suspiciously. "You remember what today is too, right?"
Camille's eyes sparkled as she nodded at her excitedly.
"Alright, remember that we can't say anything until the time is right."

Camille nodded seriously as if this would be a mission of vital importance to the national security of America.
"Alright, let's…"
The girls paused when they heard the sound of the elevator coming up.

While many people were known to pop by, only one person would come this early in the morning.
The elevator door dinged and the golden doors slid open to reveal a familiar woman in rather fashionable clothing.
Celeste appeared rather flustered, wearing a neat white blouse and black slacks with red-bottomed heels.
"Good morning." She smiled and blushed.
She looked ravishingly beautiful. Luna wasn't exactly shy in letting her know it.
"It certainly is now..."
"Gaba." Cami poked her mother in the nose.
"I'm not being gross, it's called flirtatiously complimenting someone and you'll learn about it when you go to college."
"Mafa."
"Oh you're going to college. That's a non-negotiable, little miss." Luna said firmly.
"Bwuwu?"
"Yes, a two year counts."
Camille nodded as if she could live with that.
Celeste gave Luna a short peck on the lips before giving young Camille the affectionate nuzzles she had rightfully earned by birth.
"You're here early. Are you just going to spend the night this time, or have you finally accepted our little invitation?"
Celeste snorted as she placed three gift bags on the counter.
"I know that non-traditional relationships tend to move a lot faster than monogamous ones, but moving in together is still a big step for me. I think I'd like to hold onto my apartment for now."
Luna would have liked to put up more of a complaint, but her attention was naturally stolen by the gift bags sitting on the counter.
"Those are…?"
Celeste seemed even more embarrassed. "J-Just some things I picked up… I wanted to leave them for him before I went to work."
Luna checked the price tags on some of the items in the three bags and stared at Celeste knowingly.
"Just some things, huh?"
Celeste's ears turned dark red. "I.. haven't dated anyone in over 20 years, okay? I got a little overzealous."
"How cute." Luna smiled as she squeezed her hand. "I'm sure he'll love it."
At that moment, a clicking sound came from down the hall and footsteps slowly began approaching the kitchen.
Malachi stepped into view, a grey furred, red-striped, drowsy adult monster who was still pushing a head full of black snakes out of his sight line.
He smiled affectionately at Celeste and she felt her heart skip three beats in a row.
"I thought I smelled you. What are you doing here so-"
"Gabba bu, Ada!!" Cami threw up her hands in excitement.
Malachi and all of the snakes making up his hair looked too shocked for words.
"Wait… who's birthday is it again?"
Luna just looked down at her daughter and shook her head.
"You just can't hold water, can you…?"
