Blade of the Goddess-Chapter 24 - Big weapon go BOOM
Chapter 24 - 24 - Big weapon go BOOM
Once the dust settled, it showed the mother-son pair still in their barrier, not affected by the devastating blast. However, it was so powerful that they both strained themself causing them to bleed from their mouths and noses.
Still alive, huh?" Olzak sneered, his eyes burning with malice. "No matter. I'm done playing."
Zaleena, dazed but not defeated, struggled to her feet, her sword still gripped tightly in her hands. She was angry.
She had always protected her son from danger, never wanting him to fight battles he couldn't win, so seeing him in that state made her blood boil.
"Mom, I'm going to use it."
"Are you sure?" She asked, concerned about his safety
"We have no choice." Just then, his body was wrapped in flames once more, however, his flames turned slightly golden, completely changing the color of his hair.

"W-What?! How is this possible!" Olzak stuttered, shocked at what was happening right in front of him. "How are you an apostle of a god?!"
Zion didn't answer and cladded his mother in his flames enhanced by holy power.
Zaleena, now back on her feet, engaged Olzak once more, her body screaming in pain but her mind pushing it aside. Olzak easily swatted her sword out of her hands, forcing Zaleena to engage in hand-to-hand combat.
"I'll kill you! I'll make sure you die today! You filthy pawn of the gods!" The demon swung its massive claw in a devastating arc, and Zaleena's body took the force of the devastating attack. However, thanks to the flames, the damage was halved and Olzak ended up harming himself in the process.
Zion, looking on from behind noticed something. His mother's sword, which was knocked out of her hand, passed through the barrier Olzak created without sustaining any damage.
Testing his theory, used the rune of flames on the dome where it preceded to get eaten by the demonic energy.
"Ha, haha, hahahaha! Mom! Hold him off a bit longer, I have a plan!" Then, Zion pulled out a device from his storage ring, Project Sunlight.
Zion loved to work on projects that were powered by science, not mana, and over the years, he had been incorporating technology into this magical world, and some of his projects involved creating mega weapons.
He perfected the art of making a fully functioning railgun that used electricity to excite photons, condensing them into a highly concentrated mass of energy, and expelling it into a highly concentrated beam of light, all without using mana as an energy replacement.
Why would he do something like that? Well, it's because this world is heavily reliant on mana. Explosions use mana, martial arts use mana, sensing things use mana, and people use mana, and mana can be traced.
In the midst of their chaotic battle, Zaleena stood firm, bloodied and bruised, but unwavering. Her body was drenched in sweat, and her breathing was heavy, yet there was a fierce fire in her eyes.
She knew that they only had one chance at beating Olzak and she was going to make sure her son got the opening he needed.
He laughed, calling her a weak woman who can't even protect her son, mocking her as she dodged, parried, and struck with all her might—but she was slowing down.
In this moment of desperation, something inside her snapped. With a deep, concentrated breath, she gathered every ounce of her remaining strength.
'I have no choice, I have to use 'that' power!'
Her hands move with swift precision, her fingers tracing ancient, intricate symbols in the air as she tapped into her family's forgotten martial technique—one that binds not just the body, but the very essence of her opponent.
She leaped to her feet, her movements fluid, and with one final powerful motion, she formed a circle with her arms. Her body radiated with a brilliant, glowing aura, and from her hands, ethereal chains of energy shot toward the demon, wrapping around his limbs and torso.
The chains glowed with a force that pushed against the demon's dark energy, tightening around it like an unbreakable prison.
"What is this?! How do you have such power?!" Olzak roared in fury, thrashing and struggling against the magical binds. His claws tore through the air, but it could no longer move, Olzak's immense power now trapped within the glowing chains. Feeling the energy, his eyes widened, realizing Zaleena belonged to a certain type of people who fought against the demons long ago.
"You think this can stop me! You're nothing but a lowly human! Your inferior species should beg to even lick our feet!"
He jerked his body violently, but the more he struggled, the tighter the chains became, restricting his every motion.
"Now Zion!" She shouted.
Before he arrived in the forest, he had positioned a railgun in the air that sat on a magic circle that had a cloaking spell, hiding it from prying eyes.
But when Olzak put the dome over the corrupted forest, he assumed he couldn't use his trump card. Now, since he knew non-magical things could pass through the dome, he was confident his weapon would work.
Setting the energy output at 100% Zion clicked the fire button. Energy hummed in the air prompting Zaleena and Olzak to look up.
"You think that will stop me! Your mortal tools won't even scratch my skin." But his confidence waned as he could feel the energy coming from the rail gun.
'How can such a mortal weapon have such power to where I can't even sense the mana coming from it?!'
With one last act of desperation, he yelled at them once more.
"You better let me go right now or you'll regret it! I'm only a mid-ranking demon! If you could barely beat me, imagine how helpless you'd be against a high-ranking one, or someone stronger! Let me go now!"
"We'll deal with that when the time comes, but until then, say hello to my little friend, bitch!"
*BOOM*
A sudden, blinding flash of light erupted from the sky, followed by a deep, deafening roar that shook the very earth itself. A colossal ball of fire and electric energy surged up and outward, scorching the destroyed trees in its path and sending them crashing everywhere in splintered ruins.
Birds, startled by the blast, flew wildly in all directions, their wings flapping in frantic desperation. The air was thick with the acrid scent of burning wood, ozone, and the charred remains of anything in the blast zone.
Sparks danced like fleeting embers, smoldering in the shattered remnants of the forest. The silence that followed was eerie, broken only by the crackling of burning wood, a mournful reminder of the sheer power unleashed.
Zaleena, who moved Zion out of the way just in time, watched with her son as the dust settled and the demon, who could overpower even her, lay dead on the spot, his skin completely vaporized and his bones turning into dust.
Their ears still rang from the sound of the explosion, but the anxiety and slight fear completely wore off seeing Olzak dead in front of them. But instead of cheering, or congratulating her son, Zaleena put him right in front of her face and asked...
"What the fuck was that?!"
