Prince Kaiden left the dining hall with a smile on his face, but it faded away as soon as he was out of the hallway.

"Tsk, that old man is so suspicious. If only he was not Sera’s father."

Prince Kaiden complained as he calmed himself down. This was not the first time he had doubted Sera’s father, Count Cameron Diltz, but he had always ignored the man for Sera’s sake.

But him stopping Sera from taking the medicine-

"Does he think I will abandon Sera just because she got better? Does he think that about me?"

Prince Kaiden questioned before he turned to look at the wall. The shadow on the wall grew before it formed Nero’s small form.

Nero gave a small bow, and Kaiden forcefully relaxed himself.

"How is Shuu doing? And what about those maids who disrespected him? Have you taken care of them yet?"

Prince Kaiden asked, but Nero just shook his head.

"I want to take care of them as well, but you specifically ordered not to touch Sera’s maids. I don’t want Shuu to be in danger, so I am holding back my anger."

Prince Kaiden felt angry at his past self for such an order. But then he recalled that Sera had been crying when he ordered this, and his anger calmed down a little.

"I see. I will look the other way this time, so do what you need to. Also, stop Shuu from leaving the imperial palace. If this is about a place to stay, I will provide one."

Nero sharply looked at Prince Kaiden before he sighed.

"You need to stop this. Your wavering is not helping our situation even a little bit. You have Sera, right? Then focus on her so that she does not get jealous of Shuu and come after him. You are not naive enough to not know what I mean."

Nero reminded Prince Kaiden, and the crown prince flinched.

"I...just want to be with Shuu a little longer. We are bound by the companion seal, so it is not easy for me to suddenly not care about him. Especially since we even slept together so many times..."

Prince Kaiden himself knew that he was making this situation worse for himself and Shuu. But he felt distracted every time Shuu was in front of him.

It was so bad that he often forgot that Sera was even there until she reminded him of her presence.

But despite this, he could not bring himself to regret marking Shuu even a single bit. He was sure that he would do the same if the opportunity arrived again.

"We will be leaving for my estate today. It will be better for Shuu and you to be away for a while. The distance should make this dependence better."

Even Nero doubted his words when he spoke, but Prince Kaiden just sighed and nodded.

"Let’s hope so."

The longing in Prince Kaiden’s mind still raged, but he forced it down and went back to work. Paperwork distracted him for some time.

But his mind went back to Shuu every time he looked outside.

Even he had to admit that he felt something for Shuu at this point, but he could not act on it. If not for his sake, then for Lady Sera’s honor.

It was clear that she no longer had the same effect on him as she did before, but he still cared for her. And when she touched him, he forgot about everything else and focused on her.

He loved her; that much he did not doubt. But he did not feel the same desire for her as he felt for Shuu. With Sera, it was calm and peaceful.

But with Shuu, it was a hunger that felt like it would never come to an end...

’It will be better if we spend our time away. I have a feeling I will end up burying Shuu’s words as well if I am allowed access to it.’

Prince Kaiden knew himself well. If things went his way, then Shuu would never be allowed to see the outside world again. He would keep him captive in a place where only Prince Kaiden was allowed to see him and touch him, and also...

"Here is another document. W-Would you like to see more paperwork?"

The secretary asked with a flinch. He could feel the dark aura around Crown Prince Kaiden.

Prince Kaiden turned to look at him with a dark look on his face.

"Bring me as much paperwork as you can. I will take care of it all in one go."

The secretary nodded and rushed to get anything he could. He was sure that the prince wanted to get all of the paperwork out of the way so that he could spend time with Lady Sera.

’This is such a powerful and beautiful love. But why are we being made to suffer because of this...?’

"Welcome to my manor. This place will become your home for the unforeseen future, so make sure you choose a good room. If you want my room, don’t hesitate to tell me. I will gladly change my room for you."

Nero offered as Shuu entered his house.

The manor was not as grand as some of the others, and the modest decorations made him feel better.

At least he could not break something that would be worth more than his life here.

"I don’t mind any room. I have slept in stables before, so I..."

Shuu suddenly felt sick, and he placed his hand over his mouth and ran outside. He heaved as his food came back up, and his mouth felt tingly and sour.

"It seems my sickness is getting worse. The dizziness is too much, and the vomiting. Should I take some medicine?"

Shuu questioned, but he was not so sure. He had always braced himself when he was sick because people did not like a cursed one like him.

"Hmm, you should rest for now. I will call for a doctor to come and check up on you soon."

Nero promised before he helped Shuu settle in for the night.
