[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 55: Ch : The end of the Journey
"The shadows, they are closing in. You should leave me here and head toward the last chamber yourself."
Shuu told the crown prince, who was definitely running slower for his sake. Shuu was not able to keep up with his top speed, and that caused a huge problem.
He would rather not be a problem for the crown prince... or the world, so he told Prince Kaiden to leave him be.
"Shut up. I am not going to leave you here alone. Ugh, I guess I have no choice here..."
Shuu got a second to brace himself before he was pulled into Prince Kaiden’s arms, and the crown prince took off at full speed.
Shadows tried to block his way, but he easily ran past them.
It did not even feel like a fight at this point as Prince Kaiden rushed through the hallways.
’Are the shadows... guiding us...?’
Shuu could not help but feel like that was the case. The shadows seemed to want them to reach the last chamber, and Prince Kaiden finally put him down once they reached the chamber.
The sword that was used to seal the evil was embedded right in the center of the altar, and Prince Kaiden took out his own sword.
"Finally, it’s time. All I need to do is replace the sword, and that should be it... why is it rebelling now of all times?"
The sword was vibrating, and Shuu could feel its hunger for his blood. The sword was calling out to him to feed it.
’Does the sword know that this is the last time...?’
Shuu was not sure, but it sure felt like it. So he reached for the sword, only for his wrist to be grabbed by Prince Kaiden.
"What are you doing...?"
Prince Kaiden asked, his eyes turning to slits as he looked at the sword with an annoyed expression.
"The sword is calling for my blood, so I am going to give it some. That is the only way to make sure this ends well."
Shuu told the crown prince, and Prince Kaiden’s expression turned sour.
"No way. There must be another way..."
Shadows started to pour all over the room, and Prince Kaiden looked annoyed. Shuu tried to tug his wrist out of Prince Kaiden’s arm, but it was not possible for him. So he immediately reached out and grabbed the sword with his other hand.
The sharp edge of the sword sank into his soft palm and immediately broke the skin. His blood oozed out of the wound, causing the sword to vibrate in excitement.
"Tsk, be easy..."
Shuu muttered as he felt his wound becoming bigger, but the sword refused to calm down, and Shuu finally pulled his hand back once he felt like the sword was satisfied.
Prince Kaiden had a sour look on his face as he looked at the sword.
"I really want to break this sword. But unfortunately, it still has a purpose..."
Prince Kaiden muttered before he took the sword toward the altar. The shadows continued to close in around him, and just as they reached the altar, Prince Kaiden grabbed the previous sealing sword.
It disintegrated into dust under his touch, and he quickly stabbed the new one in the ground, causing a red light to shine around the chamber and head out.
It overtook the sky and slowly spread out.
"Finally, this stupid journey is done. We can all head back home now."
Prince Kaiden let out a sigh as he looked down at the sword. Shuu also looked around the new, shadow-free room, and the marks of fire reflected in his eyes.
He felt like he had to touch the walls and see more—
"Shuu, we are finally done. Let’s go home now."
Prince Kaiden promised, and Shuu felt all the strength leaving his body. Finally, it was time for them to go home...
’Home? Where is home? Now that this journey is over, what will happen to me? Will I need to leave Prince Kaiden?’
Shuu questioned himself, but unfortunately, he knew the answer in his heart.
Prince Kaiden belonged to someone else, so Shuu needed to take a step back and let him go...
But that was easier said than done. Especially when Prince Kaiden decided that it was alright for him to wrap his arms around Shuu’s middle and pull him back into his arms.
"Alright, it’s time for us to head back."
Shuu wanted to protest that this was unfair and that he could walk on his own. But one look at Prince Kaiden told him that all his protests would end in vain. It was better for him not to speak.
’Well, if this is the last time, then I want to enjoy it a little. I will never get to be in his arms ever again anyway.’
Shuu reminded himself as he buried his face against Prince Kaiden’s chest. It felt comfortable, and he felt like he could sleep.
Truthfully, he had no energy and often felt dizzy for the past few days. But doctors had assured him that he was fine, and his condition did not last long either...
"Prince Kaiden, you are back? Is it done?"
Liam asked, and Shuu started to fall asleep. He had no idea what other conversations took place, but by the time he started to wake up, they were in the carriage and heading back toward the capital city.
"Man, I cannot wait for the festival and being welcomed back. I miss my family and everyone and the banquet. I wonder what they will reward us with."
Liam questioned, but he seemed to be the only one who was excited at the moment.
Shuu remained quiet, but he could feel both Nero’s and Prince Kaiden’s eyes on him. Prince Kaiden tried to wrap his arms around Shuu once more, but Liam spoke up.
"Ah, speaking of celebrations, I sent a letter to Lady Sera about our return. She said that she will meet us as soon as we return. You must be excited to see her as well, Prince."
Liam asked, and Prince Kaiden only let out a small smile.
Shuu suddenly felt like cold water had been poured over his head, and he pulled away from Prince Kaiden as well.
Luckily, they did not have to endure this journey for much longer. Reina used her magic to cut the journey to one day. Since she no longer needed to save magic, she used it all and collapsed as soon as they reached the capital city.
