Shuu knew he had to cut the hug short. It was already time for them to leave for the wedding ceremony. But his hand would not leave the emperor, which made him feel embarrassed.

"Emperor Kaiden, it’s time-"

The knock made Shuu pull back and his eyes immediately darted toward the door with an embarrassed expression.

Kaiden sighed as he felt how stiff Shuu currently was. But instead of following Shuu, he turned toward the door and extended his hand toward Shuu.

"It seems like time ruined our fun. But oh well...what can we do about it? Now then, shall we go to the wedding, my dear?"

Emperor Kaiden extended his hand toward Shuu and Shuu grabbed it to follow the Emperor out. The servant that came to get them looked down as soon as he noticed Emperor Kaiden’s intimidating aura.

He let out a sigh of relief as soon as the Emperor was out of sight, but the look in those heavy eyes kept him from even moving.

’E-Emperor Kaiden is so scary...I hope I do not have to meet him again...’

The servant wanted to cry and complain. But unfortunately, he had no one to do such things to. He turned around to leave, but something grabbed the servant’s legs and slowly started to creep up his leg.

"W-What is going on-"

The servant questioned, only for the shadow to grab his mouth and force itself inside him.

Suddenly, the fear and hesitation the guard felt evaporated into thin air and he blinked his eyes while looking around.

"W-What am I doing here? I think I had some work to do?"

The guard questioned, but he could not recall anything about what happened today. But rage was beginning to take root inside his heart. Rage against the unjust emperor who was causing all of their doom by ignoring the goddess.

And soon, the time to strike the tyrant would come.

"Emperor Kaiden, it’s such an honor to meet you-"

"Can I have some of your time, Emperor-?"

"I have a proposal you cannot ignore-"

People crowded Kaiden as soon as he and Shuu stepped into the wedding hall. Their eager eyes and quick-working hands reached toward the pair and Shuu felt uncomfortable.

But he still held his place by Kaiden’s side and gave the people in front of him a small smile to show that he was not bothered by them.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), no one was interested in him and Shuu felt like he was slowly being inched out of the conversation.

No one was talking to him and when they did look at him, it was mostly because people wanted to give him empty compliments along with well-hidden jabs.

It was exhausting for Shuu to keep up and Kaiden immediately noticed his weary appearance and decided to do something about it.

The emperor wrapped his arm around Shuu and decided to push him forward while giving everyone a look of annoyance.

"Give me some space here. My honey seems to be having a hard time breathing with you all behaving like kids. So get going now before I am forced to make you run away."

Kaiden’s order made everyone hesitate, but they decided not to test his temper in the end and ran away. Kaiden looked at their retreating backs with a sigh on his face. But his face relaxed as soon as everyone else was gone.

Concern-filled eyes turned toward Shuu and Kaiden immediately asked him if he was fine.

"Are you feeling too overwhelmed or something? Should we leave now? You don’t have to force yourself to be here."

Kaiden assured Shuu that it would be fine, even if they left now. But Shuu was not ready to take that chance. Especially since today was such an important day for people close to him.

"We just got here. We cannot leave now. Even if I am feeling uncomfortable, I still want to see Caelis and Rin before we head out."

The kids had been with Princess Danielle for pre-rehearsal and Shuu was worried about them. The emperor sighed at his decision but he did not say anything else.

Soon, the ceremony started and soft music began to play. Prince Yunn arrived first and his clothes, along with his dashing looks, made him stand out as the star of today.

It did not take long for Princess Danielle to come inside accompanied by her father. She walked slowly as her father led her inside. But there was a sour look on both their faces, almost as if they had just had a fight.

The princess slowly reached the end and Prince Yunn extended his hand toward her.

Shuu kept his eyes on Caelis and Rin, who looked tired and on the verge of falling asleep.

Just seeing the kids brought a smile to Shuu’s face and he signaled for them to do well when they looked at him.

The kids brightened up immediately when they noticed him and they started to walk faster. The priest recited the vows and they sealed the wedding with a kiss.

Finally, it was all over...or so everyone thought.

But Duke Inferno stood up before the married couple could have their first dance and everyone looked at him with curious eyes.

Shuu’s eyes went to the Duke as well, but they quickly looked at Princess Danielle behind him (who was currently suppressing her rage) and then back to the Duke.

"I am happy that you all decided to join us here for a momentous occasion today. However, I would also like to present you all with some news. I hope you will listen to me with an open heart and mind."

The Duke declared and Shuu had a sudden feeling that something was wrong. The air around him felt a little stiff and he could not put his finger on what felt ’wrong’ at the moment.

Looking behind him told him that Emperor Kaiden seemed to be feeling a similar sensation, but he did not interrupt the Duke in order to find out what he wanted.
