The pair went at it through the night and by the time morning came, Shuu was too exhausted to open his eyes. He fell asleep instantly, but Emperor Kaiden felt extremely energetic and kept his eyes open.

He looked down at his companion and future wife with a bright look in his eyes.

"Shuu, when are you going to agree to marry me? You change the topic every time I bring it up. Are you still not ready? Or is there something else...?"

The emperor asked his asleep companion, but he did not get an answer.

Outside, the sun was starting to rise and the emperor decided to sleep for a few hours as well. But his sharp ears picked up the sound of footsteps rushing toward his room and he quickly got up to check what happened.

The emperor opened his door a whole minute before the guard reached his door.

"What is it? Keep your voice down. I do not want you to wake Shuu up."

He reminded the guard and the guard panted and nodded. But the panic in his eyes did not subside.

"E-Emperor Kaiden, t-there was news from the temple. T-They say that it’s incredibly important for you to get there..."

The guard told the emperor while keeping his head bowed down. The pressure the guard was feeling was too intense and he felt like he was suffocating under it.

"Tsk, I am not going. Tell the temple I am not interested in anything they have to tell me."

Emperor Kaiden turned his head and the guard panicked even harder. He did not want to resort to desperate tactics, but he felt like he had no other choice.

"T-The saintess said that there was a new revelation regarding your companion and destiny. P-Please make your way to the temple...right now..."

The guard gasped as his throat tightened even more as his air got cut off suddenly.

He looked up and realized that he had made a mistake. The look in the emperor’s eyes was one that could burn him inside out without even trying.

"I see. So it’s the saintess after all. I guess she has not learned her lesson yet. I guess it’ll be best if I go and deal with her."

The guard finally felt like he could breathe when the emperor looked away from him. He quickly bowed and took his leave.

Emperor Kaiden watched the guard run away as he kept standing. He had no fondness for the temple, but he did feel a little curious to know what they wanted from him.

"I better pay a visit to the temple quickly. I want to come back before Shuu wakes up."

Kaiden nodded to himself and he quickly got ready to head out.

"Saintess, Emperor Kaiden is here. We have also located the companion and we are currently bringing her back. She will be here in a few minutes as well."

The guard told the saintess and she nodded.

Truthfully, she was nervous about what was going to happen next. She was well aware of Emperor Kaiden’s nature and she doubted he would change his mind just because his fate had changed.

Besides, the emperor had already marked Shuu and records showed that he could only mark one person in his life.

"Ugh, what a mess. Just go and bring that lady here as soon as possible. I will handle the rest."

The saintess declared and the guard nodded before he went out.

It did not even take ten minutes for another guard to enter with a nervous look on his face.

"Saintess Rosalyne, Emperor Kaiden is here. Should I lead him in here?"

The guard asked and the saintess nodded.

"Please lead him here and make sure no one is able to enter except my trusted handmaid."

The saintess told the guard and he nodded before he went out.

A whole minute later, Emperor Kaiden entered the room and sat on the sofa in front of her. Every step he took felt like it was dragging Rosalyne closer to her death, and she gasped as she clutched her neck in shock.

"So, what is so important that you had to send a message for me so early? It better be worth my time, or else..."

The Emperor was not entertaining her for even a second. His temper had certainly gotten worse than the last time she had seen him. But his power and authority felt just as attractive as it first had.

Truthfully, a small part of the saintess still told her to take her shot at the emperor, but she talked herself out of it.

She did not want to die at his hands.

"The reason I sent a messenger for you is because the goddess gave me a new revelation. Both your and your current companion’s destiny has changed. You have been given a new companion by fate, and as for your partner...he has been asked by the goddess to come and serve her in the temple..."

The Saintess had seconds to stand up and dodge the attack before the sofa she was sitting on exploded. She looked back at the sofa with a shocked expression on her face.

But that shock soon turned into rage.

"What do you think you are doing? I almost died because of you..."

She asked, but her breath got caught in her throat as she looked up at the blank face.

"I have heard enough of your nonsense. I will be taking my leave now."

Andrew told her as he stood up to leave.

The saintess knew that the right thing to do here was to stop the Emperor and make him listen to her. But she had neither the courage nor the intention of doing so.

She allowed him to leave right away and his mood improved a little bit.

But just as he was about to leave the room, the door opened and a high-pitched squeal reached her ears.

"E-Emperor Kaiden...? It’s really you... Ah, please pardon me. I am...do you realize who I am...?"

The high-pitched voice asked and the saintess felt her head hurt. She looked at the emperor and he had gone deadly quiet as well.
