Chapter 25: Isolated

Qin An's practice is progressing for the remaining time today, albeit slowly; but because he was enlightened, he was able to make progress on his expression for the performance. He didn't leave the practice room for a second until his stomach suddenly grumbled in hunger. He stopped his movements and remembered Li Bai's nagging inside his head about his health so he sighs.

He was really not still used. As a grim reaper, they don't need to eat or sleep. They are tireless for normal times except when encountering stronger opponents so they'll take a rest. As for the wounds, it will automatically self heal and as a senior, his wounds heal faster even more. That's why it was really new to him to feel hungry and sleepy so he doesn't bother to care when he feels those. For him, those were as light as a tickle and as fleeting as air that he really won't notice unless someone reminds him.

But now that Li Bai is no longer here, as expected Qin An didn't notice the time and ended up getting hungry. He also felt the sweat on his body and the slight panting making his body feel warmer.

Qin An didn't want to bother himself about what he thought was a trivial matter but he knew he mustn't so he stopped and finally left the practice room.

He walked towards the kitchen and saw several trainees eating and chatting happily. Their smiles halted for a second after seeing him but they went back to what they're doing immediately, treating him completely as invisible.

Yet, the words they started conversing about switched to him. Qin An can hear the malicious whispering from everyone, treating as if he's not in front of them.

"Tch! It's really unlucky. Why did he come out at this time? I don't want to see him."

"Why do you seem so angry at him? I heard he was chosen because he won the votes outside. Everyone voted and it ended fairly."

"I'm really annoyed. I have a friend who unfortunately didn't pass the audition. He was training for too long and is obviously more skilled. He has his own fan base too so I'm pretty sure his votes were high. If it weren't for his face, my friend would have won the vote."

"What? Then that was such a pity!"

"Is everyone blinded by this vase that they think it's more important than skill, right? I bet this will just ruin the stage."

Qin An raised his brow. Isolating and taunting him? Heh, he's more than used to it. He walked past them and went to the pantry. Qin An didn't know how to cook and because he was casual, he didn't bother the chef robot to cook and just grab instant cup noodles.

Qin An was quick to notice that there's an unusual gaze that keeps on looking at him. He noticed it because it was different from the usual contempt that he always feels towards others.

Instead of resentment or other negative gaze, that one made him somewhat familiar.

Was that gaze he occasionally felt when someone was looking at him with eagerness and slight admiration? Qin An was dumbfounded by his thoughts and couldn't help but look towards the owner.

There, his eyes met a pair of large brown eyes looking at him like someone seeing his favorite toy on the mall. That young man looks younger because of his baby face and slight chubby cheeks. He also has a pair of wide brown eyes and a mouth grinning widely for no reason, revealing his dimples and canine teeth. And because he has blonde hair, he looks glowing under the light even on this night.

The latter's eyes became wider when he met him and he immediately looked away as if afraid of being caught. But even so, he eyes still rolled and was constantly stealing glances at him again from time to time. The young man was like a timid young beast in front of a real beast. Although afraid, because he was amazed by the mightiness, he couldn't help but look with admiration.

Qin An wanted to raise his brow in interest. What a rare thing. It seems that the latter held no grudge against him? But again, Qin An didn't bother to dwell on it and focus on the food in front of him.

He was only enlightened in the past, just how many times he missed tasting those dishes! Especially ancient cuisine that Earth constantly tries to recreate. If he was not a fool, he had the chance to taste those cuisine authentically instead!

Qin An felt his eyes go black at that thought. What a waste!

Now, he can only eat interstellar meals. Although the food here is the same as Earth, the loss on his heart still didn't patch that up. Or maybe if he can eat more in the future? Qin An was looking forward to it, but for now, he'll settle for casual meals. The thing that he had to do is to improve himself and debut.

Even from ancient times, money was the only key for fast acceleration of reaching one's goal. And how could he eat when he doesn't even have money? So work hard!

Qin An felt he was enlightened by the sudden eagerness inside him, so he stood up and held his food. He walked fast away from the kitchen. He'll eat in the practice room so he can work immediately. Let's not waste time this time.
