Bizarre Realm-Chapter 436 - 48: Soul of the Otherworld! Resurrection of the Dead_3
Paver took a big gulp, suspecting there was nothing in his stomach, and the feeling of fullness made him much more alert.
"Thank you."
When Paver looked up, he shuddered instantly, seeing many people here. Although they had human faces, in his vision, many were wrapped in indistinct, translucent tentacles. Some had even merged with these tentacles; the purple-red grotesque appendages extended from the spinal position and climbed up the back to the shoulders, finally winding around the neck, slightly squirming.
Damn!
What kind of hellish place is this?!
Paver is a native of Mark City, having seen all sorts of mythical creatures like Witch Demons, Vampires, Demons, Angels, Devils, Titans, etc. Yet today, upon seeing the eerie tentacles cast behind these people, he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of soul trembling.
There must be something terrifying here!
These humans have been possessed by some unknowable existence, but they don’t seem to notice, unaware of the invisible tentacles entwining their bodies.
He wanted to leave this hellish place immediately, but before escaping, he had to know where he was.
Half-plane?
Material Plane?
Or some unknown Crystal Wall System?
As Paver was lost in thought, a burly man beside him directly lifted him, excitedly heading out of the slum. He had discovered an Otherworldly Soul, which could earn him a reward from the Bishop, possibly allowing him to directly upgrade from Apprentice Priest to Official Priest.
"Put me down?! Where are you taking me?!" Paver asked in terror.
Under the vast night sky.
This Priest, burlier than a Warrior and strong enough to arm-wrestle with Orcs, carried him, sprinting all the way. As light appeared ahead, Paver also saw a dilapidated Black Tower, somewhat resembling a Wizard Tower; there were many such towers in Mark City.
Is this the territory of a powerful Mage?
Paver hadn’t grasped it yet when a slightly stooped yet tall figure appeared. The exposed arm was a mechanical limb, a rare body type, only seen in the underground black market where the robots from Demon Tomb rarely appeared; most of the gadgets in the black market were scavenged from the Mechanical Realm of Clockwork Nirvana. He once had a subordinate who even equipped a mechanical eye for himself.
Murky pupils, ferocious visage, like an Evil Demon. Even with a Transformation Treasure Pearl disguise, Paver saw the terrifying silhouette behind the man.
A shadow cloaked in darkness, like the legendary Evil Demon Lord, countless black tentacles extended from around its cloak, slightly swaying with its breath, the soul’s shadow overlooking him, cold and lightless pitch-black pupils, hungry for devouring souls.
Paver even saw it pick up a worm. No, it should be a Soul Worm, and chew it in its mouth.
This guy is more sinister!
Facing this guy, Paver thought of those cultists who served Ancient Evil in legends.
The figure opposite smiled and extended a hand, saying: "Yvonne Tanner."
"Mechanical Priest of the Divine Terra Church."
"Hello, Otherworldly Soul."
"I know you have many doubts now, but don’t worry, we’ll soon clarify your questions."
"Follow me."
"I’ll take you to meet the Archbishop!"
The faint light of a Teleportation Array flickered, and regardless of whether Paver was willing or not, the Mechanical Priest directly dragged him into it.
The world spun around.
When Paver regained consciousness, he was already in front of a tower, which seemed to be a newly built Wizard Tower.
The heavy door opened.
He saw two Steel Golems guarding the entrance, and upon seeing familiar sights, Paver couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. Steel Golems, Wizard Tower, this was the half-plane of a powerful Mage.
But as he took a step forward, he was frozen stiff right where he stood.
He saw a giant black machine box, numerous cables like tentacles wildly dancing, arcs of electricity jumping between the cables, with a complex Hexagram Array engraved on the ground, adorned with symbols resembling rune characters, sparks of electricity jumping among them, partly absorbed by the black box, and another part transmitted to the Crystal Energy Pipes around the tower.
"An... Ancient... Evil?!..." Paver shivered instantly.
He didn’t know what that was.
But that hellish thing felt like the legendary Ancient Evil and even might be more powerful than his master, Titan Giant - Zedala.
"Otherworldly Soul?"
"Interesting! Can you see my true form?"
The 1st Sealed Object - Mechanical Brain danced with black cables, softly whispering: "Another high-sensitive Otherworldly Soul, should prove quite useful!"
Yvonne Tanner carried Paver up the spiral staircase of the tower.
Several minutes later.
He quietly stood outside the laboratory, respectfully saying: "Your Excellency Bishop. The person has been brought."
Paver trembled as he looked up; he saw a laboratory, with a crystal jar cultivation tank in the front, containing a naked handsome man about twenty years old, eyes closed, only breathing, his entire body soaked in nutrient fluid.
Before Paver, another slim and tall figure slowly turned, and he saw a handsome face almost identical to the one in the crystal cultivation tank.
——Cloning Technique!
One of the powerful Mage’s methods of resurrection, the cultivated new body for revival.
At this moment, Paver felt it was hard to breathe because he saw behind the powerful Mage a swirling dark purple nebula in a half-transparent bubble, within which countless symbols of knowledge flashed as stars rotated.
Never before had any creature made him feel such fear, making him tremble just by glancing at, this powerful Mage was scarier than the Ancient Evil below!
Even his former master, Titan Giant - Zedala, when unleashing Titan’s thunderous wrath, never made Paver feel soul trembling.
Shawn gazed calmly at the Otherworldly Soul before him.
He gently raised his palm, telekinesis sending a peculiar pair of glasses to the other party’s presence, Shawn blandly said, "Put it on. It will make you feel much better."
Paver shakily extended his hand, hesitantly asking, "What is this?"
Shawn replied calmly, "It’s called Confusion. A little gadget."
"It can cloak your sensitivity."
