Chapter 185: Chapter 20: Practitioner—Shawn! Reshaping the Self_2

The descendants of the Ancient Race are even more extraordinary, born as Legendary beings, inherently possessing traces of Law and Divinity, existing at least at the Legendary Level.

If they are upper-position descendants of the Ancient Race, their potential is incredibly high because some descendants are born as Demigods, with talent abilities far surpassing mortal races. They serve as the template for the Divine Son race.

"The Extraordinary Essence has indeed shifted!"

Shawn noticed traces of pollution, flipped over the enemy’s corpse, pulled out a dagger, and began cutting into the creature’s body. Its skin and part of its limbs had merged with the power of Extraordinary Relics, transforming into an ’innate’ Curios.

This is a Sealed Object, requiring no later fabrication, ready for use, but often severely polluted.

In the real world, Sealed Objects that can be recast into Curios have been recreated; those that cannot are sealed away. The transformation of Sealed Objects into Curios demands remarkable Mystical Knowledge, craftsmanship, Alchemy Skills, and so on.

—— Crawler’s Shedding [Sealed Object]?!

Shawn found it impossible to passively identify, solely resorting to actively using the Identification Skill, relying on Activated Knowledge to discern its abilities.

—— "Crawler’s Shedding [Sealed Object]: The Crawlers, active in the Underworld, belong to an Ancient Race Clan. Its shed retains most abilities of the Monster Path Shadow Sequence."

"Function 1: Core material for advancing to High Tier Wanderer."

"Function 2: Activate the Sealed Object at the cost of flesh contamination, converting all of one’s Extraordinary Level to Wanderer abilities. This transformation is regarded as a branch of the Monster Path, Shadow Sequence, with a cap not exceeding the Sealed Object’s level limit." (Limit is Extraordinary Level 15.)

"Function 3: Core material for ritual offerings, able to summon a trace of Ancient will."

"Sealed Object Pollution: When possessing this Sealed Object, the flesh will be gradually contaminated, exhibiting features of an insect race. Mild contamination can be removed by methods like Restoration Technique, limited Prayer Technique, Miracle Skill, etc. If deep contamination occurs, the race template will transform into an insect race, and the life form will distort into an Ancient Race Clan."

[Once the race template has fully transformed, regardless of the Transcendent’s original Extraordinary Path, they will become part of the Monster Path as a Wanderer. The Crawler’s Shedding will become permanent new skin.]

It is indeed a powerful Sealed Object!

Shawn tiredly lifted his head, gazing at the large patch of strange skin in his hand, murmuring, "Replace career abilities? Even at the cost of complete contamination, altering one’s ascension path."

He found it impossible to appraise the value of this Sealed Object!

Yet, in the hands of some, it might serve as an ascension path-changing artifact, effectively replacing one’s original career abilities with those of a Wanderer.

This Sealed Object is certainly extremely rare, after all, it was shed from the Ancient Race Clan.

"Would equipping it make me a Wanderer of Extraordinary Level 10?"

Shawn glanced at the strange skin in his hand, thought for a moment, and decided to store it away; his Casting Path mainly counteracted mental pollution, and using this Sealed Object would bring both flesh and mental pollution, the mere thought of which gives him a headache.

Flesh contamination often causes physical deformities, handling these is quite troublesome.

Potent Sealed Objects correspond to Legendary Wondrous Objects; his piece, while slightly lacking, shouldn’t fall too far short.

Shawn stored it separately.

"This item can only be traded in Abyss City, at least for a powerful High Tier Curios."

He tidied the battlefield briefly and rearranged the Magic Alert.

Casters must constantly remain vigilant, only engaging in well-prepared battles, for their physical attributes significantly lag behind other Extraordinary Paths.

Fragile skin, thin blood, easily killed in a second.

Inside the Eye Demon Nest.

Shawn opened his notebook on the table and began recording today’s insights, believing that knowledge and action must align, requiring him to summarize his own shortcomings.

"Caster battles are essentially mathematical problems."

"How to address the complex and ever-changing circumstances of the outside world with limited resources."

"My resources include the Mana Pool, mastered Spells, owned Curios, etc. Casters must be able to mobilize every resource they possess at any moment to respond to unexpected situations."

"The first factor in achieving this is a very clear understanding of one’s own abilities."

"Complete self-awareness."

"Only with a very clear recognition of my own abilities can I fully mobilize all available resources in unexpected situations."

"Arcanist, is it?"

"It appears to be a more scientifically sound ascension path suitable for me."

"This ascension path seems to require a very high level of rational thinking. As an Earthling, my education is very compatible with rational thinking."

"By contrast, the wizard’s ascension path seems somewhat ignorant, akin to the character of wizard, representing humanity’s limited understanding of nature during the Ancient Era, requiring the wizardly approach to grasp all phenomena and deities."

"What I seek is—— to understand why things are the way they are."

Who claims the unspeakable Ancient cannot be rationally comprehended?

The Wizards of Bizarre Realm, the Mages of Forgotten Realm, and Shawn, now on the Path of Destiny, initiating as an Arcanist—all three Casting Paths utilize the same power source, albeit manipulating Law Power in entirely different manners.
