The inheritance Shawn received wasn’t just from nameless benefactors but also Earth’s civilizational legacy. If Spiritual Power manifests idealism, then on spiritless Earth, those mental thoughts are all the more pure.
It is precisely due to the lack of Spiritual Power interfering with reality that the deepest mind and self can be analyzed.
The Way always exists!
Within his own thoughts, within the heritage left by humanity’s wise ancestors, it was simply his own Confusion that initially obscured his understanding.
Using materialism to drive Primitive Magic Power, idealism to drive Mind Energy.
