Bizarre Realm-Chapter 161 - 12: The Cunning Enchanting Demon! Blasted to the Heavens (Part 3)
He estimated his own resources and said in a deep voice, "Three Purgatory Gunpowder Barrels."
"One Explosive Trap."
"What is Hellfire?"
The Fire Burning Demon looked up at him, as if assessing something, and said in a gruff voice, "This item is not sold to strangers, but you were introduced by Veronica."
"I can sell you one."
"Hellfire is a weakened version of the Body-Burning Burst, kills everyone within a thirty-five meter diameter, and its power is roughly equivalent to a 7th-circle Shaping Energy spell."
What the hell?
Is it that fierce?
Shawn looked at the price. If he bought a Hellfire, he would spend all his resources.
Combined, the previous items only cost over a hundred Soul Stones, whereas one Hellfire cost three hundred fifty Soul Stones, enough to buy many Explosive Traps.
Shawn was a bit tempted and asked, "How do you use this?"
The Fire Burning Demon glanced at him, raised an eyebrow, and said, "It’s usually used for self-destruction. It’s not a Magic Scroll; otherwise, it wouldn’t be so cheap. I can make a triggering device for you, but you need to be careful of its blast range."
For such a powerful Magic Scroll, the price would likely be very expensive.
It wouldn’t be possible to buy it for just over three hundred Soul Stones because a Magic Scroll requires Extraordinary Relics as materials.
"Thirty-five meter explosion diameter."
"The length of a basketball court is only 28 meters, about one and a half basketball courts’ explosive range."
Shawn roughly calculated the explosion range. It was not small; be careful not to accidentally blow himself up.
Buy it!
Shawn needed explosive firepower.
With this thing, he could even potentially blow up High Tier Transcendents.
Explosions are art!
The Fire Burning Demon gave him a glance and continued, "After the Hellfire explodes, it will continue to burn."
"Be careful when using it."
He reached out and took Shawn’s Soul Stones, quickly moving out three gunpowder barrels, one fairly complex Explosive Trap, and finally one Hellfire that emitted a hint of Extraordinary Essence, resembling a sealed bomb canister.
The Fire Burning Demon glanced at Shawn and asked, "Is three seconds enough?"
Shawn shook his head and said, "Too slow."
"One second is enough."
The Fire Burning Demon heard his words and surprisingly had a trace of admiration in his eyes. He swiftly changed the triggering fuse and said, "Don’t blow yourself up; it might affect my reputation."
Rest assured.
I’m not using it for myself.
Shawn discovered that although guns were not available in Abyss City, explosives seemed easy to procure. Transcendents of the Alchemy Path would all produce this stuff.
The Fire Burning Demon casually opened a cabinet.
He took out three iron lumps resembling grenades, handed them to Shawn, and said, "Since a mutual acquaintance introduced you."
"I’m giving you a few small items."
"Do you know what a grenade is?"
Grenade?
Shawn’s eyes showed a bit of surprise. Hearing the term "grenade" amidst the retro setting here made him a bit bewildered, but he still nodded and said, "I know a little."
The Fire Burning Demon explained, "It’s said that Dorne’s Alchemists researched it, and I copied a few."
"It’s more powerful than traditional Blazing Fire Glue."
"I added iron fragments inside, making it a hybrid of Blazing Fire Glue and Explosive Iron Thorns, with a three-second delay. Throw it far when using it."
"If it works well, come back next time."
This guy is a talent!
Shawn surprisingly reached out to take it. Its appearance was very similar to the grenades from his previous life, with a very shallow rune engraving on the surface, likely the ignition trigger. The technology in this world heavily used rune demon patterns, and with a bit of Extraordinary Materials, they could be activated to explode.
However, the craftsmanship here was relatively rough, far inferior to the alchemists in Dorne City.
Simple, practical, and powerful.
Demons are pragmatists, not bothering with intricately engraving precise runes. Although occasionally inferior products and accidents occurred, it didn’t affect the overall value.
The biggest drawback was the expense, all handcrafted through the Alchemy Path.
Shawn returned fully loaded.
About ten minutes later, a seductive and enchanting figure appeared outside "Hellfire". Like Shawn, Succubus - Veronica didn’t fully enter the shop but stood at the doorway, looking very wary, as if ready to make a quick escape at any moment.
No one wanted to approach a Fire Burning Demon who enjoyed playing with explosives!
Few passed through this alley regularly.
The Fire Burning Demon continued his work behind the counter, not bothering to lift his head or look at the seductive Succubus outside. Anyway, he didn’t have that function, and he said, "Did you just introduce a customer over?"
Succubus - Veronica nodded, "Yes. A potential big client."
"I figured he’d probably like your alchemical explosives."
The Fire Burning Demon nodded, "Hmm. Looks like he’s not simple."
"Last month’s dividends are on the counter, take them yourself."
The Succubus didn’t even enter, casting a small spell, and directly took away a heavy bag of Soul Stones from the counter.
She had promised to give Shawn a fair price, considering it an introduction to make a friend.
But she hadn’t mentioned she had a share in this ’Hellfire’ as an investor in the Fire Burning Demon opposite, so the Soul Stones ended up back in her pocket.
In this back-and-forth, she ultimately still made a bit off Shawn, while also having Shawn owe her a favor.
Sly Succubus!
Outside the market district’s commercial street, Shawn was having dinner, charcoal-grilled fire lizard meat, hind leg meat, very chewy, decent taste. The owner was a real Half-Elf. The prices in Abyss City were relatively high, possibly due to resource scarcity, and daily meals were not cheap. The residents here were all Transcendents, but the ones who really went out on adventures were mostly mercenaries. Most local residents utilized a gentler method of advancement, which was saving money to purchase Extraordinary Relics for advancement from adventurers.
