Bizarre Realm-Chapter 146 - 7: Divination Skill! Aemon’s Mad Plan—Bottomless Abyss! (Part 3)
——Divination Skill (3-ring Spell).
Shawn learned his first real Prophetic Spell from the Crowmen, but the low-tier Prophetic Spells aren’t that useful. He can only use divination to predict fortune and misfortune, and cannot glimpse images of the future. Truly powerful Prophetic Spells can see events that have occurred in the past and events that may happen in the future.
Out of curiosity.
Shawn took out the staff left to him by Lady Hecate, the strange relic called ’Crossroads’, which he hadn’t used much because he simply couldn’t perform any Prophetic Spells before.
A slight tremor of mana.
As Shawn tossed out this bizarre staff, the primitive magic power began to stir, as if invisible opportunities were being disrupted and the direction of prophecy began to change.
"Teacher! Guide me to a direction that brings good fortune!"
Shawn uttered his most powerful spell!
He would never fully trust everything Aemon said, moreover, Lady Hecate had always treated him quite well. Shawn felt, perhaps mistakenly, that Lady Hecate was trapped inside the Maze Library, as he rarely saw her outside of it.
This was somewhat like a Divine Spirit trapped inside its own Divine Kingdom.
Snap.
The staff Shawn had thrown began to tremble. Divination Skills generally predict fortune and misfortune, but this Crossroads relic seemed to amplify the effects of Divination Skills.
It can guide in three directions: one for fortune, one for misfortune, and one for an indifferent outcome.
"When using Prophetic Spells, you must remember one thing: you can occasionally pray for good luck, but you cannot always demand it to accompany you."
"Sometimes, you even need to actively seek a stroke of bad luck."
"Because only then can you ensure your next Prophetic Spell will be more accurate." The teachings of Lady Hecate surfaced in his mind.
Opportunity is uncertain.
Fortune and misfortune are equivalent; having a bit of bad luck occasionally is fine, as long as good fortune is present at crucial moments.
Novices often cling to fortune, but veterans prefer regular misfortune.
"This is the balance of opportunity."
Shawn needed the favor of fortune now. Once he returned to a safe spot, bad luck could strike at any moment—even if it meant tripping on the road or losing his wallet to theft—it was fine. In this damned place, he truly couldn’t survive without good luck; his luck couldn’t afford to be even slightly bad.
The Crossroads fell.
It pointed Shawn to a direction on the edge of the Black Forest, near the plains on a small hill, specifically in the northeast direction.
"Will that direction bring me good fortune?"
"Teacher."
"I leave it to you this time!"
Shawn was deeply sincere at this moment.
He packed his things and took those Stone-blind Barbarians, preparing to exploration towards the direction indicated by the Crossroads.
These Stone-blind Barbarians were his minions, but they couldn’t be relied on at critical moments due to their low intelligence. The Stone-blind Barbarians were easy to control and could understand some simple commands. They were roughly equivalent to Level 1 Barbarians but lacked the full Extraordinary Essence. They were born with humanoid monster levels but couldn’t invoke frenzy. To promote them, Shawn would have to feed them Extraordinary Relics, but he wasn’t financially capable or inclined to cultivate them.
If they lose control, he’d have to clean up the mess himself.
This was a somewhat risky attempt because it was Shawn’s first time using a Divination Skill. He decided to take his chances, mainly because he trusted Lady Hecate’s powers.
The relic she gave him surely had its uses, as the Butcher had already given Shawn such crucial high-tier relics. It wouldn’t make sense for the teacher, as a Death Demigod, to give Shawn a useless garbage relic.
"Goddess of Fortune, love me one more time."
Shawn commanded those Stone-blind Barbarians to clear the path ahead, while he himself was always ready to enter the Invisible State.
A caster should always prioritize survival first.
.........
Purgatory City.
This is one of the seven Witch King Cities in the Bizarre Realm, a chaotic and evil place like Abyss City.
Aemon’s figure slowly walked into a grand and magnificent palace.
At the top of the palace was a extremely bewitching and beautiful female figure, lying languidly on her luxurious throne, with a blood-red tattoo on her exposed, fair arms. On both sides of the palace stood many immensely powerful evil demon guards, some even hailing from the Otherworld souls in Asura Purgatory.
"Aemon! What a rare guest!" The bewitching woman on the throne rose to welcome.
Aemon showed a slight smile, ignoring the woman’s seductive beauty, calmly saying, "I’ve come to borrow something from you."
The bewitching woman raised her eyebrows at his words and asked, "Borrow what? I heard you recently went to Thousand Faces Valley."
Aemon responded politely, "I want to borrow your Crown of Mind."
The bewitching woman furrowed her brows, gazing at Aemon in front of her saying, "Crown of Mind? What do you want it for? Is someone under your command destined to ascend the Mind Path? Or is someone about to cross-path ascend?"
Aemon’s smile vanished, calmly saying, "Don’t bother asking more about that. Will you lend it to me or not?"
The entire palace fell into silence.
Suddenly, the bewitching woman chuckled lightly and said, "Lend? Of course, I’ll lend it. How could I refuse when the Abyssal Lord opens his mouth?"
"However."
"You have to answer one question for me, to ease some doubts I’ve had recently."
Aemon frowned slightly, asking, "What question?"
The bewitching woman curiously stood up, overlooking Aemon, her condescending attitude seemingly proving her dominance, but Aemon was unmoved. She softly queried, "What are you planning by disrupting the reality world?"
"Is it just to cause trouble for them?"
Aemon calmly replied, "Of course not, I’m doing it to open a door."
Open a door?
The bewitching woman asked in confusion, "Open a door? They won’t agree, too many people would die. Those old bones might not have the courage to take such a risk."
Aemon smiled, "There’s a saying in the East: ’Price increase where you stand, bargain where you live.’"
"Moreover, who said I’m opening a door to the reality world?"
The bewitching woman was stunned at those words, incredulously asking, "Then where are you opening a door to?"
Aemon calmly uttered four words: "Bottomless Abyss!!!"
It was like a bolt of thunder.
The bewitching woman was momentarily stunned, incredulously saying, "Bottomless Abyss? Impossible! The door path has long been sealed."
Aemon responded calmly, "How would you know it won’t work without trying?"
"Ancient Elves can open a teleportation gate to the Distant Universe, why can’t we open a teleportation gate to the Bottomless Abyss?"
"Those Demons are probably tired of fighting the Abyssal Blood War all the time."
"Even creating a rift in the gray mist would let them swarm in, just to give something for the nameless entities in the Bizarre Realm to enjoy." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
The bewitching woman fixed her gaze on Aemon, seemingly judging the truth of his words.
After a long introspection, she slowly said, "If you truly plan to do this, count me in."
Aemon nodded, "The plan has just begun."
"I’m still missing the most important key, and it’s on a very important person."
"Without him, no one can obtain the third Door Key."
The bewitching woman asked gravely, "Do you really have the confidence to open the Gate of the Otherworld for the second time?"
Aemon replied calmly, "Maybe other places are difficult, but there’s a great chance in the Bottomless Abyss. It’s the land of extreme chaos, the door to all possibilities!"
"I’ve ascended to become the Abyssal Lord."
"As long as the condition for the ritual is fulfilled, I can summon the ’Will of the Abyss’ to descend!"
"It will be interested in the Bizarre Realm."
The bewitching woman seemed surprised by Aemon’s insane plan, murmuring, "Aren’t you afraid that the Will of the Abyss will also be twisted into something akin to an Otherworld God from the past?"
Aemon calmly replied, "That’s the Will of the Abyss, not some random Otherworld God."
"If it were so easily twisted, the Bottomless Abyss wouldn’t exist."
"Besides."
"You wouldn’t think those entities from the past are crazier than the Will of the Abyss, would you? You greatly underestimate the power of the Bottomless Abyss!"
"Otherworld souls have their own ways to solve problems."
"Those natives are too weak."
The bewitching woman seemed convinced by Aemon in front of her. She gently raised a slender, fair finger, and soon a Banshee Maiden brought over a completely sealed Blood Box.
Aemon reached out to accept it and said politely, "Thank you."
