Bizarre Realm-Chapter 120 - 38: The Last Fire Thief! Legacy of the Abyss! [End of Volume 2]
Above the clock tower.
A ring of fire spread in all directions as Shawn’s figure soared into the sky. At the moment he landed, the Flame Burst Skill swept across the area, burning the swarm of insects flying everywhere to nothingness, leaving only the dense remains of poisonous insects.
"Are you alright?"
Shawn supported the staggering Benjamin and handed over the Endless Wine, saying, "Drink it quickly."
This Curios has strong healing powers, but it carries additional contamination.
Benjamin was gravely injured at this moment; the poisonous insect swarm summoned by the Cultist Priest was only the size of a grain of rice, and apart from the large-scale Ground Cleaning Spell, the Close Combat Series Transcendents found it hard to eliminate them completely. They were almost everywhere, and Benjamin’s body was covered with horrifying insect bite marks. The poison had seeped into his body. If he weren’t strengthened from the flesh, he probably would have died on the spot.
Benjamin reached for the Silver Wine Flask and drank it in one gulp, his voice hoarse: "I can still fight."
The battle situation in the villa area had been completely reversed.
With the demise of the Moth Mother’s offspring, the Dancer and Poet from the Doomsday Circus were successively eliminated, shifting the battle scales toward the Night Watcher. However, Shawn’s squad also suffered severe casualties, Gemma died from the Clown’s sneak attack, and two High Tier Transcendents from the Black Moon Sect were killed. The Deceitful Assassin and Daisy’s whereabouts were unknown. Daisy had escaped into the darkness, and the Wilderness Druid already possessed stealth capabilities, making it hard for others to discover her if she wished to hide.
Bang!
Amidst shattered window fragments, the figure of a Dwarf Illusionist flashed into view, followed closely by a petite silhouette, like a hunter coming from the darkness. Daisy’s eyes were filled with primal wild madness, as a cold beam sliced through the air, triggering something with the Dwarf Illusionist, who was immediately teleported tens of meters away by an Order Spell.
However, Daisy was faster; her silhouette ran on the vertical wall like a leopard, at this moment disappearing into the Shadow. With a fleeting afterimage, Daisy appeared behind the Dwarf Illusionist.
Blood spurted!
Daisy’s gleaming claws directly decapitated the Dwarf Illusionist.
With the death of the Dwarf Illusionist, the darkness and shadows cloaking the battlefield dissipated significantly. When the moonlight poured down, the lone figure of the Clown emerged before everyone. Previously shrouded by Illusionist’s summoned shadow darkness, the Clown was practically invisible, able to stealth anywhere freely, but now it was not so easy for him to hide.
Sounds of combat came from the rooftop opposite; the Deceitful Assassin, Zellers, flew out from the darkness. With a deadly cold beam, he directly decapitated a gray-robed Cultist Priest, spilling green blood across the wall, revealing a hideous half-human half-insect head in the moonlight.
"Has it come to an end so soon?"
The heavily injured, nearly dying figure of the Clown emerged from the darkness. He glanced at the Dancer’s shattered corpse and turned towards the recently decapitated dwarf, with a hint of madness and regret in his expression, saying slowly, "Night Watcher. You have won."
"But this is only the beginning! Reality will shatter someday."
The Clown lunged forward.
He targeted Shawn, twisting with shadows, completely ignoring others, his whole being dissolving, turning into a grim shadow without a solid form, like the Lady of the House initially.
A chilling beam of shadow pierced directly at Shawn; the Clown’s final, desperate assault seemed intent to take the Investigator before him.
Benjamin’s figure instantly swapped places with Shawn; he pulled Shawn over as they crossed paths, their shadows overlapping, and the Clown’s grotesque grin appeared within the shadow. A streak of Flowing Light passed, blood spilled; Benjamin’s right arm was severed, used to shield Shawn from the lethal blow. The next second, his left hand pointed sword-like at the Clown’s neck, and a similar wound appeared, but this time, Benjamin’s injuries didn’t transfer; instead, the Clown bore the same wound.
Ink-like blood splattered as the Clown’s neck was severed. A grotesque head with a twisted smile fell.
The Clown seemed not yet dead, mumbling as he looked past Shawn, whispering, "I’m sorry, Chairman. We failed."
Chairman?
At this moment, all eyes widened in shock, gazing behind Shawn.
Without anyone knowing when.
A well-dressed, elegant-looking middle-aged man appeared abruptly above the clock tower, unnoticed by anyone.
The Dark Ceremony of the Doomsday Circus had successfully attracted the Moth Mother, forcing the Bizarre Realm’s demigods to join forces against the Old Whispers, preventing further descent into the real world.
Their plan had succeeded.
Though reality wasn’t completely torn apart, ordinary people had become aware of the harsh truths of the world.
With the Old Whispers’ descent and the Bizarre Realm’s demigods being forced to respond, previously pursued by the demigods, that person gained freedom again.
The Chairman of the Gray Whisper Hermitage, Aemon, walked into the battlefield strewn with corpses, calmly approaching Shawn.
Under everyone’s gaze.
