Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 84: Mother and Children vs. a Horde of Undead — Part 2.
A sudden roar echoed from the left. Dyralfa was swinging her massive tail, smashing rocks and pillars into dust, but her face was twisted in pure frustration. Surrounding her were half a dozen Ghosts, their forms flickering like smoke. Her talons passed right through their chests as if they were mist.
The spirits cackled, their chilling claws raking across her armor, leaving frost rimmed scratches that bypasssed her physical hardness.
Perched on a stone rib, Frovian watched Dyralfa swinging at nothing, leaning casually against the calcified bone.
"Useless muscle! Are you trying to punch the wind, Sister? Or are you just performing a very loud dance for our entertainment?"
"SHUT UP, FROG! I’ll crush them if they just STAY STILL!"
Dyralfa swung again, her tail hitting nothing but air.
"They are incorporeal, you dim witted rock."
Frovian sighed. He watched a Black Ghost dive toward Dyralfa, its claws solidifying into icy daggers as it reached for her throat.
"Now."
Frovian’s hand shot out.
"Earth Element: Soil Spear!"
The spear of hardened earth whistled through the air, catching the spirit at the exact micro second it manifested to strike. The Shadow Spirit shrieked as the physical projectile shattered its core, dissipating it into nothingness.
"They manifest when they attack."
Frovian explained, flicking a bit of dirt off his body.
"Wait for the strike, then counter. Or, continue hitting the air. I’m sure the air is very intimidated."
Dyralfa growled, but she stilled her movements. She closed her eyes, sensing the drop in temperature. As a Black Ghost solidified behind her, she didn’t turn she simply drove her tail backward like a piston.
THOOM.
The spirit was obliterated before it could even hiss. Dyralfa hesitated... then finally say it.
"Tch... thanks, brother."
"What was that? I couldn’t hear you over the sound of my own genius,"
Frovian teased, a wicked smirk playing on his lips. Dyralfa’s scaly cheeks flushed crimson, and she shot him a sharp glare while waiting for another ghost to materialize.
"IDIOT!"
Maddy watched the siblings in tandem, a sense of ease settling over her despite the screams of the spirits. Her Monsterpedia flickered, logging the encounter automatically.
[New Monsterpedia Entry Added: White Spirit]
[White Spirit (Evolve Form) — Habitat: Ruins / Graveyards / Battlefields]
[A lingering soul unable to pass on. White Spirits drift aimlessly through the places where they died, occasionally reacting to living creatures that disturb their territory.]
[Magic: 300,000 | Might: 200,000]
[New Monsterpedia Entry Added: Shadow Spirit]
[Shadow Spirit (Evolve Form) — Habitat: Caves / Ruins / Dense Forests / Graveyards]
[An incorporeal spirit formed from condensed darkness and lingering mana. Shadow Spirits drift silently through dim environments, often blending perfectly with natural shadows. Though normally intangible, they can briefly solidify their form to strike prey with chilling claws made of dark energy. These spirits are known to stalk living creatures from the darkness, slowly draining warmth and vitality from their victims before disappearing back into the shadows.]
[Magic: 280,000 | Might: 220,000]
Maddy instinctively stepped back, a shiver running down her spine despite her years of experience.
"No... this isn’t what I expected from Area 1. I could handle oversized rats, giant cockroaches... but these... literal ghosts? Not for me! EEK!"
Her eyes swept the area. White Spirits drifted like drifting fog, while Shadow Spirits rose from the floor in a writhing, black tide. The air itself seemed to scream, and even Maddy felt the oppressive, horror-movie tension clawing at her nerves. She had enough.
With a sharp motion, she raised her hand. The ambient mana began to swirl toward her, coalescing into a blinding heat that rivaled the intensity of the sun itself.
"Absolute Light Manipulation: DAYLIGHT!!"
FLASH.
A sphere of blinding, holy radiance erupted from Maddy’s body. The Grave Goblins shrieked as their rot filled bodies began to smoke and combust. The Shadow and White Spirits wailed in agony as the "Daylight" erased their forms, peeling back the darkness they hid in until they slowly ceased to exist.
The entire cavern of Area 1 was illuminated as bright as midday, the petrified dragon bones glowing white under the divine pressure.
When the light faded, the cave fell into an eerie silence. The only sound was the faint crackle of burning bodies.
Sephiran rubbed his eyes, blinking at the lingering sparks.
"WHOA! Mother just lit up the entire area and boom! Every monster’s dead! Haha! That was... amazing!"
Arach’s six eyes scanned the empty floor, his sword limbs resting as the a Grave Goblins turned to ash.
"Incredible. She didn’t just kill them... she purified the entire sector."
Dyralfa smirked, finally feeling her pride return.
"That’s my Mother. No ghost can hide from her!"
Frovian’s eyes gleaming with genuine admiration.
"A massive output of Light Elemet. Efficient, devastating, and aesthetically pleasing. Truly, Mother, you are the Epitome of Greatness!"
Maddy drew a deep breath, her heart finally slowing.
"Okay. No more goblins. No more ghosts... but before they all turned to nothing, I must eat them... all of them... even if I don’t want them inside me!"
With a resolute gulp, she cast her skill:
"INGEST!"
Multiple hellmouths erupted from Maddy, gaping and snapping as they devoured the remaining burning undead, leaving nothing but ash and scorched bone in their wake.
CHOMP!
