Chapter 133: Pregnant Warriors vs. Dragonborn.

The blonde woman’s jaw tightened. A low, predatory growl vibrated in her throat as her hand clenched into a fist.

"Ogre who... shapeshifted... into a fine lady... wearing rags? These are the skins of the beasts I have slain! You call us monsters... savages? Do you want to see your precious halberd thrust where it belongs—"

"Pri— I mean—Gin! Please!"

The bright pink-haired woman behind her grabbed Gin’s arm, eyes wide with nerves.

"We just got here! Please... let us even step inside before starting our own deaths!"

The other women behind them shouted in frustration, shoving and gesturing wildly.

"Oh, come on! Throw them back to wherever they came from! I’m in a hurry! We’re all in a hurry! The King needs our... stomachs!"

Gin’s eyes glinted, smoke curling from her nostrils, making the pink-haired woman flinch once more. Then, with a calculating glance, she smoothed herself, stepping in front of Gin. Her hips swayed as she leaned into the guard’s space, batting long lashes, her voice dripping like honey.

"Oh, brave sir... my friend is just tired from the road. We have traveled so far to see the King. Surely a strong, handsome man like you understands the heart of a woman in search of... a halberd?"

Her gaze flicked deliberately to the guard’s other halberd. The man blinked. And blinked again. The pink-haired girl’s cleavage was practically in his face. His grip on the weapon loosened, his face turning bright red.

"I... well... I suppose... move along. But keep your... ’beast skins’ to yourselves. And I believe the King wanted some new things... on his plates. Who am I to deny him... right? Hehe... but y-you could meet... me—"

"OH THANKS!"

The two women slipped past. Gin was dragged quickly by the pink-haired girl. She clutched her head and said,

"You really are... a naughty one, Shuna."

Shuna grinned mischievously over her shoulder, tugging Gin along by the arm.

"Hehe... naughty? Me? Oh, come on, Gin, don’t act like you weren’t enjoying every second of that flustered guard. Admit it, you liked seeing him sweat a little!"

Gin huffed, her golden eyes narrowing as she tried to hide the smirk tugging at her lips.

"He was not exactly my type, but I could turn his skeleton into one of my—"

Shuna tightened her grip on Gin and changed the topic.

"Woah, look at this place!"

As they entered the capital, their eyes widened. The architecture was like a dream—stone streets so clean that not a single patch of mud could be found.

Shuna squealed,

"It’s amazing!"

Gin could not contain her awe either, marveling at the grandeur of Drakaria’s capital.

"Yeah... it’s really... beautiful."

Their admiration was cut short by a loud merchant roaring from the street, holding up a shimmering, strange amulet.

"HALF PRICE! HALF PRICE ON THE PREGNANCY CHARMS! The mother of Draculeus wore this very charm! It protected her womb and gave us the Firstborn! Buy it now and be the next bearer of the Dragonborn!"

"Move! OUT OF MY WAY!"

Shuna screamed, sprinting into the crowd. In just seconds, she was gone from Gin’s side, weaving through the throng. She began fighting other women, using her elbows and shoulders like a skilled brawler.

"That charm is MINE! I’m going to have ten Dragon babies!"

Gin watched her friend vanish into the brawl and sighed. She leaned against a marble pillar, crossing her arms. As she looked around, her eyes caught something familiar.

Across the square, five other women moved through the crowd. They had the same dark skin and tall, powerful builds as Gin and Shuna, but they wore the fashionable, high collared dresses of Drakaria. They moved with grace, blending perfectly into the sea of people.

One of them looked back, her gaze meeting Kara’s for a split second. Gin’s golden eyes narrowed. She wasn’t the only hunter who had come to the city to find the King. The "Harvest" was more than just a search for mothers; it was becoming a gathering of the world’s strongest bloodlines.

Deep within the palace, Draculeus walked with his head lowered, his heavy dragon talons clicking rhythmically against the polished marble. His brow was furrowed, and his clawed finger tapped against his chin as he thought deeply.

"What do I even say? Do I thank her? What if she panicked at my new form? Should I be proud... or should I be sorry? Oh... this is making my head spin!"

He stopped in front of a pair of massive, ivory carved doors. He took a deep breath, smoke curling from his nostrils.

"Father was kind enough to let me come here... but I don’t even know what her face looks like."

Draculeus stood at the entrance of the Grand Nursery, where the mothers of the thousand white blooded children were resting. The guards at the door bowed so low that their foreheads nearly touched the floor as they slowly opened the heavy doors. Immediately, a servant sweeping the floor looked up. She caught sight of his midnight-blue scales and horns and let out a piercing shriek, her eyes widening as if they might pop from her skull.

"D-D-DRACULEUS! THE DRAGONBORN IS HERE!"

Inside, a thousand women were resting, eating, or walking. But the moment the name "Draculeus" echoed through the room, the world stopped.

"HE’S HERE!"

A thousand heads turned. Women with bellies so large they could barely walk suddenly found the strength of Olympic sprinters. They scrambled from their divans, their silk robes fluttering as they stampeded toward the doorway.

"My son! He’s come to see his mother!"

One woman yelled, shoving another aside.

"Get back, you hag! Look at his midnight scales! Those are the colors of my ancestors! He is mine!"

Draculeus took a step back, his massive wings twitching in an instinctive defensive posture. He was a Dragonborn, a predator of the sky, but he felt utterly defeated by the wall of pregnant women closing in on him. They surrounded him, their hands reaching out to touch his obsidian skin, their voices a deafening roar of greed.
