Wearing an off-shoulder dress was a black-haired young lady, who could better be described as an angel. Her curves were perfectly accentuated by the maroon-coloured dress she had on as she strut her way forward.

Unlike most hyumans, she not only had silky black hair that dropped all the way to her shoulders, but she also had a pair of alluring black eyes to go with it. Her red lips added to her looks, giving her a more bewitching charm that was almost irresistible.

The lady gave off a regal aura while remaining calm and collected in the vibrant scene. With an air of refined gracefulness on a seductive body, it wasn't an understatement to call the black-haired lady a Miss Universe candidate.

Whether it was in terms of beauty or aura, even Laura Mertens was at least a level behind her. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ novel※fire.net

"Vienna?"

Lucas was visibly astounded by her presence, and rightfully so.

Not only had she departed for Belfargos territory more than ten days ago, but Vienna never informed him that she would be returning back for the event. It was only natural for Lucas to not have expected her presence here today.

On the other hand, Melissa visibly cheered up at the sight of Vienna and dashed over to her.

"Big sis!"

Vienna smiled as she hugged the little girl before stroking her cheeks.

"You look amazing today." Vienna complimented her.

"Hehe. Not better than you, big sis." Melissa grinned.

"Oh, stop it~"

Vienna smiled at the compliment as she patted the little girl on her head before glancing forward.

Even though Vienna was a stunning belle that could make both men and women look back twice, Laura was similarly an extraordinary beauty. In fact, she was ranked the prettiest of Baylands City's young generation following an online poll on the popular social media platform, Kikao.

Despite knowing that she looked better, Vienna felt slightly threatened by the presence of another dazzling figure.

"Who might you be?" Vienna calmly asked as she stared at Laura.

The azure princess slightly frowned at the question, especially since the one speaking was unfamiliar to her. However, Vienna's aura that was quite similar to hers made Laura consider her seriously.

"Laura Mertens, daughter of the Mertens family." Laura introduced herself.

Usually, she wouldn't do such but she had an intention for behaving this way. First, it was to gauge Vienna's reaction. By doing so, it would enable Laura to be able to estimate the latter's background.

It was clear to Laura that Vienna wasn't a simple individual, but she wasn't familiar with someone like her in the upper circles of Baylands City. An ordinary individual would presume that Laura was naturally of a higher background, but she didn't necessarily think so.

With the existence of Light rail trains, it wasn't difficult for someone halfway across the world to arrive in time for this event or to be knowledgeable about it. Even though there was really no reason for them to do so, Laura didn't eliminate that option.

There was also the fact that some powerful forces existed within the city-state, slightly outside of the city's reach. These forces, although not on par with the top four families, were just below them just like the Oder family. As such, they could afford to disregard the top four forces to some extent.

By introducing herself first, Laura hoped to get a reaction from Vienna. Depending on her reaction, Laura would be able to surmise which of the various possibilities applied to Vienna.

"Mertens family? Mr. Russell's daughter?" Vienna raised an eyebrow.

Laura frowned slightly at the question. Vienna's tone when she called out her father lacked any proper sort of respect and was more like a formal tone. There was an underlying nuance in Vienna's voice that seemed to show disregard for her father.

That could only mean one thing; Vienna was of a higher rank.

However, there was also the possibility that she was faking it. Whichever it was, Laura wanted to find out.

Unwilling to back down, she fired.

"And who might you be?"

Vienna stared coldly at Laura as she responded,

"If it were your father, I'd consider giving a response."

The atmosphere immediately changed. The two guards that were assigned to Laura and Vergil respectively, immediately assumed an offensive position.

The middle-aged woman sho was with Laura abruptly walked in front of her and glared at Vienna.

"Please watch your tone, miss."

Vienna, with eyes that seemed not to care, looked at the middle-aged woman.

"Why is a dog barking before its master? It looks like it was badly trained."

The middle-aged woman's eyes widened as she prepared to make a move right then. However, she suddenly could not move.

"What's the matter?" Vienna stared at her with cold eyes.

Even then, the middle-aged woman still couldn't move. Sweat streaked down her face as she felt an insurmountable weight on her body, preventing her from even taking a single step.

'What is going on?' The middle-aged woman couldn't help but freak out. She couldn't even speak as her lips felt like they were shut tightly.

"That's enough." Lucas spoke up at this point.

He didn't know what was going on, but the vibe between Vienna and Laura was definitely not friendly. Vienna was also acting strangely and the Mertens guards were about to go overboard.

As the one caught up in the middle of this, Lucas felt the need to intervene.

Vienna snorted lightly and turned around while dragging Melissa with her.

Laura scowled before closing the box and leaving right away as well. Vergil chuckled awkwardly and ordered his guard to leave with him as well.

As for Laura's guard, she had recovered from her strange state and with her mistress leaving, she followed right behind her.

All this happened within a second, so nobody really noticed her strange state then. Even the middle-aged lady began to doubt what had taken place, and decided to brush it off her mind.

Lucas, who was now left standing alone, felt his face twitch.

"I didn't know you're famous with the ladies."

It was then that Lucas realized he actually wasn't alone. There was still Lieutenant Lily, who watched everything unfold.

"I'm not a fan of that either." Lucas calmly replied before walking away in the same direction as Vienna and Melissa.

The small event that took place between Vienna and Laura didn't get much attention as the outdoor area of the exhibition hall was large.

After separating from Laura, Lucas ended up getting approached by various individuals and personages. There was a mix of old and young who wanted to get to know him or build a connection to him. Some of them even had contrary plans with their attention aimed towards Vienna instead. This couldn't be helped especially since the latter easily stood out like a swan.

Unsurprisingly, Vienna ignored them all and they were forced to either retreat or focus on Lucas. However, Lucas didn't intend on communicating with such individuals; he wasn't even interested in talking to anyone during this event.

Just as Lucas was considering pulling Vienna and Melissa away to a quiet place, Maessen Ross as well as Altimo Mertens, appeared on the podium set in front of the exhibition hall's entrance.

Maessen represented the Silverine Factory and was its CEO while Altimo represented the Seven Stars Springs Dealership and was its Managing Director —an arrangement Lucas acquiesced to.

Maessen first gave a short speech about the Silverine Factory's achievements and the need for a local representative of Baylands city-state in the stellar processor industry.

Such a speech felt somewhat politically motivated and egocentric, but he made some good points that many in the crowd couldn't refute.

For instance, Maessen pointed out how Baylands city-state didn't have a spaceport or hub, neither did they have the capability to develop a spacecraft because of this. He also emphasized their reliance of foreign technology for sensitive products.

Although the Silverine Factory's inability to compete with such companies was also at fault, Maessen made it sound like that was a result of the lack of support from the city-state.

After Maessen's speech, Altimo went next right away. Despite being from the Mertens family and the fact that the family was also a significant sponsor of the Seven Stars Spring Dealership, Altimo's speech didn't touch upon any of those facts nor did it involve the Mertens family. Rather, Altimo played his role as the MD of the dealership, focusing only on the company's goals, performance and achievements.

However, as the Seven Stars Springs Dealership was only a new company that basically existed in name until now, there were no achievements or performances to speak much of. On the contrary, the dealership had only been stocking up on products.

However, there was a good reason why Russell had recommended Altimo for this position and he proved that with his speech. For a company that hadn't been in operation in the market, Altimo was able to give an amazing speech that touched on the company's projects, even though none of those had been pronounced in the industry.

Once the duo had concluded their speeches, the exhibition hall was opened to the guests.
