Biohuman-Chapter 66 A Pair Of Foxes
The medical staff members fled the arena shortly after Olivia left. Lee Seng watched Olivia be quickly wheeled out towards the hospital wing. He sighed as he scanned for his bow. He wandered over to where Jason stood and found his bow knocked away from where he originally stood before Jason punched him.
The scene replayed in his head. Olivia was barraged with four fireballs. Two of them were used to create impaired vision while the other two where directly aimed at her. Jason may have fought aggressively and for revenge, but he wasn't stupid. Jae, on the other hand, didn't try as hard. Lee Seng never understood why the brothers looked identical yet acted the opposite of each other.
Lee Seng sighed as he reached for the bow. The last thing that replayed in his head was Jason's sudden teleportation. Jason couldn't have literally disappeared from the opposite of the arena and appear right next to him.
'A flame that can snuff itself out and reignite itself further away.' Lee Seng smirked. 'They never showed me all of their tricks then.' Lee Seng's eyes went to the bow and he slowly inspected it. The bow surprisingly didn't sustain any fire damage.
"This has to be at least A-rank. Something with a low enchant would've gotten burned with that amount of firepower." Lee Seng whispered.
"So, what now?" Keng trotted over. Lee Seng looked up has he strapped the bow onto his shoulder. He looked at his watch.
#26 vs #2 --- GYMANSIUM A -- STARTS IN 1 HOUR, 48 MINUTES
"I got almost two hours to blow." Lee Seng looked up at Keng. "You and I should talk about what you did with that fireball." ƒ𝒓e𝐞we𝚋𝙣o𝚟𝚎𝘭.co𝙢
"Oh, that?" Keng began to walk with Lee Seng. The two of them casually started out of the gymnasium. Many of the students and staff members were staring at him and the huge white fox. Lee Seng didn't think much about it. He had a lot more on his mind and honestly, a talking white fox that came out of his tail didn't rank high on the list of things he was thinking about.
"Yeah, what was that? You literally used the wisps to suck up all of the fireball."
"It's one of the Fox skills we start out with." Keng started. "The white wisp aura form you take is the beginning of our connection. Through hard work, practice and more souls, you and I can gain more abilities. The white wisp aura form with the fox mask is the completion of our pact. You did that with Father. You realized, in that form, you can heal non-lethal and heavily reduce your negative effects. The white wisp aura form is the basis for all of the Fox moves."
"It's the basis for everything that you and I will learn then?" Lee Seng summarized. Keng nodded.
"Mmm."
"So, do you have a name for it or are we just going to continue calling it 'the white wisp aura form with the fox mask?'"
"We never named it because we never had to explain it to others. If you want to explain it easier to others, you can name it as you see fit." Keng answered. The two had rounded the corner to the opposite side of the arena.
"Hmmm, name it?" Lee Seng scratched his chin. He had assumed a lot of things based on Keng's existence. Keng's Father, the man in the fox mask, must've known all of these things existed thus Keng would've known the names of these things. But Lee Seng did have to remember Keng was planted into Lee Seng's soul as part of the pact to get his powers. He had assumed Keng would have some profound knowledge on these types of things because Keng had hinted he had knowledge about the man in the fox mask.
The two turned the corner as students entered. Their stares went directly to the huge white fox standing next to Lee Seng and then to Lee Seng. It was a first for Lee Seng.
"Woah, that's a huge fox." A female student said. She bent down to look closer and noticed the fox had the same exact eye colors as Lee Seng. "Is this part of your power?" She glanced up at Lee Seng. Lee Seng nodded.
"Yeah, it's complicated. You could say he's apart of me." Lee Seng answered.
"Oh, so the tail wasn't for show then!" Another female student spoke excitedly. The group of girls all nodded and began to crowd around Lee Seng and Keng.
"Can we pet him?" A female student asked.
"Uhh... Actually, I don't think--" Lee Seng couldn't even finish his sentence. Keng began to get pets and the girls all swooned over the cute fox. They happily gushed over Keng who awkwardly took the pats. Lee Seng sighed and reached down and touched Keng. In an instant, Keng disappeared into Lee Seng and the girls all looked up, sad.
"Sorry, but we gotta go." Lee Seng said as his tail grew to full length again. He waved and squeezed his way through the crowd of girls. He exited the gym and pulled his phone out. He unlocked it and saw that Carter had an Academy app downloaded. He hit it and realized it had a map function, so he mapped his way to the First Year's hospital wing.
A couple minutes later, Lee Seng found himself standing in the familiar hospital wing. He passed the sick room he stayed in and wandered into a hospital. It mimicked the hospitals he had been to in the past. He wandered over to an empty seat and sat down. It looked like their were people who were waiting around.
'I think you're going to be a chick magnet.' Lee Seng told Keng.
'Aren't you glad they don't pay attention to you?' Keng asked. Lee Seng chuckled at that response. He nodded his head.
'Yeah, I am, but I wanted you to wander around with me. I guess that'll be impossible.'
'Didn't you want to keep me a secret from the others? Especially the Numbers?'
'Mmm, I guess you're right. I should keep you a secret, but since I already let you out...'
Lee Seng groaned. He ran his fingers through his hair, pulling it back. It flopped back into its original place and he rubbed his temples. He had thought about hiding Keng's existence from everyone. If many people knew about it, it wouldn't be an advantage for him. He leaned forward and rested his head into his hands.
"I already showed you, so I guess that's out of the box." Lee Seng whispered. He corrected his posture and leaned back into the chair. His foot tapped away as he thought about his next steps. "Hiding your existence wouldn't be hard. It's just that I should practice using you so I know what you're capable of and can use you in a bind. I just wonder if that's the right call."
Lee Seng's phone rang loudly. He grabbed the phone from the next chair and looked at the caller ID.
Dr. Valentin is calling...
Lee Seng swiped and put the phone to his ear.
"Hello, Lee? Is this the right number?" Dr. Valentin asked.
"Mmm, what's up, Dr. Valentin?" Lee Seng answered. Dr. Valentin cleared his throat.
"We got your partner all figured out. She seems to be recovering from her negative. She's resting in Room 301 if you want to stay with her for a bit."
"Alright, I could come up to see her--"
"Lee Seng, don't worry about me!" Olivia shouted. Lee Seng heard shuffling followed by Dr. Valentin mumbling something.
"My dear, you should rest before you last match." Dr. Valentin spoke. "Lee Seng just wants to make sure you're okay, Miss Olivia."
"It's fine, doctor. I'm fine. I just need rest. My negative doesn't impact my head that hard. I just used a lot more Dark Matter than I'm used to so my negative hit me harder than normal. I'm fine, Lee Seng. If you need to practice, go ahead. You don't have to see me."
"I'll go grab some lunch for us. I'm hungry and I know you could use something in your system to get better." Lee Seng spoke.
"That sounds like a good idea, Lee. Hurry back." Dr. Valentin said.
"You don't have to--"
The phone clicked off and Lee Seng pulled the phone away from his ear. A text message pinged instantly. ƒ𝐫𝒆𝐞w𝗲𝚋𝗻૦𝘷e𝙡.c𝑜𝙢
Dr. Valentin
Olivia's room number is 301. Come if you want.
Lee Seng stood up and stretched. He clicked on the Academy app and mapped his way to the food court. He started off as many people coming and going stared at him. He ignored the usual stares and comments about him.
'Maybe I am getting used to it.' Lee Seng thought. 'Eh, that's not the problem right now. I'm hungry and I'm pretty sure Olivia could use some food.'
'Make sure to thank her for stopping Jason.' Keng chimed.
'Mmm, that too.'
