Sebastian’s POV
When I finished talking to Stella on the phone, I immediately called the detective.
"Hello, detective?"
"Hello, Mr. Sebastian? Why were you called? Is there a problem?"
"Louis called already on the telephone I had in my condo but Stella was the one who answered the call. "
"Oh, did she talk to Mr. Louis? "
"Stella didn’t talk to Louis much, but she heard him asking for help. I am worried about the condition of my brother, detective. "
"Okay, don’t worry, I’m going to your condo to talk to Ms. Stella regarding this. "
"Thank you, detective, could you go to the condo tomorrow?"
"All right, Mr. Sebastian. I will go tomorrow. "
"Thank you, detective. I have to go now. I still have work to take care of. "
"All right, Mr. Sebastian. Thank you very much for the information. Bye. "
When we finished talking, I called Geisel to come to my office.
"Geisel, you proceed to my office," I said
"Okay, Mr. Sebastian. "
Moments later Geisel entered my office, carrying a brown folder.
"I want to know what Louis’s pending works," I asked Geisel.
Geisel lists Louis’ pending works, including his business trip to the states. I have to tell Stella about the business trip as well.
"How many days is that business trip?" I asked Geisel.
"1-2 weeks, Mr. Sebastian," Geisel replied.
"Okay, what else should I need to do today? Is there anything else?"
"There are papers that Mr. Louis needed to sign and the clients are looking for that already, " Geisel said.
"I see, give it to me then, I will sign it, and before I forget, can you call dad because Mr. Van emailed me earlier, one of dad’s business partners. He wanted to talk to dad but he couldn’t reach him so he decided to send me an email, " I said.
"Alright, Mr. Sebastian," Geisel respond.
"And please, as long as possible no one will know about Louis’s disappearance."
"Don’t worry Mr. Sebastian. I understand. By the way, you have a short meeting with Mr. Lawrence after 20 minutes, " Geisel said.
"Okay, is this a new investor?" I asked.
"Yes, Mr. Sebastian, he wants to invest in our company," Geisel replied.
"Okay, just send him to my office."
"Okay, Mr. Sebastian. I have to go now, " Geisel said.
When Geisel came out of my office I took a deep breath and leaned back in my chair. I don’t think I’d be this pressured to work if Louis is here...I wish he is here because he is the type of person who is very diligent and he can manage everything, even if it is difficult. I looked at the bottle of wine on my table; I poured wine into my glass. As I drink, I almost fall asleep, maybe because I am tired and it is evening already and I remembered that I hadn’t eaten dinner yet. I forgot to eat because of work. I’m sure by the time Stella finds out I haven’t eaten dinner yet that will make her angry. I couldn’t help but smile as I thought about her reaction.
A few minutes later there was a knock on my door.
"Come in," I said.
When he entered I saw Mr., Lawrence. So, I stand up in my seat and shake hands with him.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Sebastian," he smiled at me.
"Nice to know you as well, Mr. Lawrence. Please seat, "I said.
"Thank you," he simply said.
"You want some wine or alcohol?" I ask.
"Wine, please. Looks like you’ve been drinking for a while, Mr. Sebastian, " he asked.
"Not really, just to relieve stress," I replied.
"So, are you stressed right now, Mr. Sebastian? I am hoping that I am not the cause of the stress you having right now. "
"No... no... no, you are not the cause of my stress right now. Don’t worry Mr. Lawrence. "
"It’s good then."
"So, my secretary said, you want to invest in our company." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Yes, supposedly."
"Why did you choose our company if you don’t mind me asking you?"
"Sure, no problem. We know that your company is well known and famous. So, I thought of investing here. I know the money that I will invest in this company will be safe. Am I right, Mr. Sebastian? "
"Of course, the money that you will invest in our company will be safe."
"So that’s it. My answer is simple; I have enough trust in this company. "
"Thank you for trusting our company, Mr. Lawrence. I will ask my secretary to prepare the papers that needed to be signed. Maybe it will take a few days for everything to be done. "
"Sure, no problem. By the way, where is your dad and your brother, his name is Louis, right? "
Suddenly, I stopped what I was going to say because of his question. "Dad has another business thing to take care of while Louis is on vacation right now."
"Oh, I see. I thought I would meet them today as well. "
"Unfortunately, you won’t meet them today, but soon you will meet them. "
"Okay, no problem. So, I have to go now because it’s getting late. Again, nice meeting you Mr. Sebastian, thank you for your time and for the wine, " he smiled.
"No problem. Nice meeting you as well, Mr. Lawrence. "
When Mr. Lawrence went out of my office, Geisel suddenly hurriedly got into my office as if she is nervous.
"What’s wrong?" I asked Geisel.
"Your dad..."
"What happened to him, Geisel?"
"She is in the hospital now, Mr. Sebastian. "
"What! Wait! Who said that? " I asked.
"Your doctor at the hospital, he is the one who answered my call."
"Why didn’t I find out in advance?"
"Because your dad told the doctor not to tell you."
"How’s his condition, then?"
"He had a minor accident... he was drunk while driving, fortunately, he only got a few scars and no other car hit him. "
"Okay, you take care of here first. I’ll go to dad at the hospital. "
"All right, Mr. Sebastian. "
"Just call me if there’s something important to take care of here, don’t worry I’ll be back."
Geisel nodded and I left the office. When I left the office, I immediately got in my car. It was dark already because it is 8 p.m in the evening.
When I arrived at the hospital, I parked in their parking area and went inside. I went to the front desk and ask where dad’s room was, they immediately gave me the room number. When I got to dad’s room I knocked on the door. I saw a nurse who opens the door for me.
"I’m Sebastian Miller. I am his youngest son. By the way, how is dad right now? " I spoke to the nurse.
"Hello, Mr. Sebastian. So far, Mr. Miller’s condition is fine, he only sustained a few scars from hitting a tree, and fortunately, his car had an airbag so he was safe. Right now, he was resting."
"Okay, thank you so much for taking care of my dad. Can I stay here in his room for a while? "
"No problem, Mr. Sebastian. I’ll leave you two here. If you need anything from me, just call me," said the nurse.
"Sure, thank you."
The nurse came out of the room while I approached dad and sat next to him. He seems to be sleeping soundly. I just looked at him as I sat down. It’s good and nothing bad happened to him because I can’t forgive myself when something bad happens. I quietly held dad’s hand, just a moment later I saw his fingers move, and it looked like I woke him up.
"Sebastian, is that you?"
"Yes, it’s me, dad. How are you feeling right now?"
" I’m just a little dizzy," Dad replied.
"Okay, why are you driving drunk?"
"I’m not drunk, just tipsy."
"Tipsy? That’s why you crashed into a tree. Fortunately, you did not collide with a car and it may have happened worse to you. "
"Are you here to visit me or preach to me?"
"Both, dad. Next time, don’t drive while drunk or even say you’re tipsy. If Geisel hadn’t called your phone, I wouldn’t have known that you had an accident, you even forbade the doctor to contact me. "
"Because I know you’ll be worried and I know you’re thinking a lot right now, especially about Louis and the company."
"Even though, that is not enough reason. You’re still my dad; I have a right to know. So, please, let me know, next time."
"Okay, son. Don’t worry, by the time I will dis-charged here, I’ll go back to the company. I’ll help you with Louis’s work. "
"Thank you, dad, but for now, get well here at the hospital. And don’t worry about the company, Edward, Nicholas, and Andrew are helping me. "
"It’s good that they are helping you. Do they already know about Louis’s situation? "
"Yes, dad, they already know. I already told them. "
