Billionaire's Pleasure-Chapter 147: Telling The Truth
"Is there anything further to say?" Charles’s head was cocked inquisitively, he stood back, and he cleared the back of his throat before asking Sharon a question. After he’d gotten his bearings, he joined her in the kitchen for some dinner. He sat down and ordered some bread and pasta to go with his meal. Sharon raised an eyebrow at him before grinning as he passed on the salad. A few weeks of not feeling hungry had finally caught up to her.
"Cider?" Holding out the bottle, she questioned him as she poured herself a drink. "Let me know if you’d want to join me for a beer."
"Cider is delicious," Charles started eating. He closed his eyes and sighed blissfully as the food struck his tongue. It was a good meal because he had a taste for fine cuisine.
"I wanted to talk to you" got stuck in Sharon’s throat and she had to stop. She didn’t know how to bring it up or express it.
In order for her to finish her thoughts, Charles shook his head and waited. After picking up his cider, he drank a sip of it before going back to work.
"I’m going to have a baby," Sharon merely uttered the words out of remorse. As he began to sputter and choke on his cider, she leaped up from the table and beat on his back. She felt bad about telling people what was going on because she knew it wasn’t the best thing to do.
"That’s not what I expected to come out of your mouth," Charles said to her when he finished coughing. He gave her a start as his eyes widened and dropped to her stomach. It suddenly dawned on him when he thought back to the first time they had met. He had strayed from his customary level of prudence, and now he was paying the price.
"Initially, this was not the method through which I wanted to reveal my true feelings to you," Sharon informed him before returning to her seat and eating. She waited for the news to sink in since she didn’t want to stress him out further.
The food was fully chewed by Charles. He appeared to be thinking things over. He turned to face her when he’d finished his dinner.
"What’s your plan of action?" He asked her a few probing questions behind her back. Charles didn’t make any accusations or sound angry.
Before responding, Sharon had to force a swallow.
He said, "I’m going to hold on to it. Charles, I hope you’ll decide to get involved in this. This baby is already a part of my life, even though it wasn’t supposed to be. Let me know if that’s what you want to do. As long as we can move forward and at the very least maintain our friendship, I’m all for it."
"Friends?" After her astonishing glance, Charlesstumbled. "You can’t just be friends with me because of how I feel about you, Sharon."
My head is spinning. As she blinked and tried to decipher what he was saying, she asked him a series of questions.
"Friends. I’m not just going to be your friend. I’m attracted to you and believe that we can figure this out together. I suppose I’m offended by what you said. I’m curious to know what I meant to you." Charles wondered. His feelings for her were completely unexpected till this particular moment.
"I didn’t mean it like that," she said.
"So, exactly how did you mean it?" Charles questioned her.
"I do mean that... I was referring to the fact that as an adult, I can assume full responsibility for my actions and decisions. I like you a lot and I care a lot about you. Also, I don’t expect you to agree with my feelings, nor do I expect you to want to help out if something unexpected happens. All I wanted to do was provide you with a few more possibilities. If you think you’re confined, I don’t want you to believe it. If that’s the case, I’d appreciate it if you could make it." As Sharon was about to touch him, she informed him of this. "I’d appreciate it if you could join us today. Personally, I think it’s a good idea. This is not to say that you have no options or choices in this situation. We should be able to come to an agreement on this as adults."
"What took you so long to say that?" Charles looked her in the eye.
"So, what’s next?" After questioning her, he simply chose to carry on.
"I go to the doctor, find out the due date, and, I suppose, decide what I want to do next. There are so many options for birth and pregnancy that it might be a little overwhelming," Sharon added. "Choosing a birthing center may be necessary if my preference is for water delivery but because this is my first child, I’d like to give birth at a hospital."
Charles nodded, despite the fact that he didn’t quite grasp what she was saying. At this point in time, his thoughts were wandering over how they were going to handle raising a child without cohabitating and whether or not he could help financially to support the pregnancy’s costs.
"I think we should consider moving in together," he says. Let’s see if we can handle being a family before the baby arrives.
Sharon could only nod rather than speak for fear of her personal space being invaded, even by a man she admired. She was desperate to get back to her room and take a breather.
For a while, Charles thinking about Sharon, their unplanned child, he was also attempting to figure out how he might be a great partner to her.
After a few years of screwing about with ladies, he was fortunate and extremely cautious in his approach to women. Before she came into my life. Nothing about her could explain his inability to maintain his cool under pressure and avoid making costly errors, as well as his tendency to drift off into bodily sensations.
She was a one-of-a-kind person. She was so important to him? When they first met, he didn’t know anything about her. When it comes to love, it can’t just happen. It wasn’t that he didn’t care about chemicals and animal lust, but that he always avoided getting emotionally involved.
An old cranky man named Geo was his co-conspirator on a stake-out, and the two were sleeping next to each other. They were awaiting the arrival of a naval officer from the ship before making the arrest. They didn’t want to make a disturbance, so the best course of action was to approach him as soon as he left the boat. Naval Intelligence obtained images of the person selling goods and weapons off the ship in numerous ports. He had to answer for what he’d done, and the evidence pointed in that direction. As a result, all that was left to do was raise him.
In his mind, he was mentally ticking off the men and women who had disembarked from the ship until he found the man they were looking for. He fired up his vehicle, roused his companion, and set out to pursue the sailor.
Inquiring about the man’s activity, he kept an eye on him. He drove into an alleyway, parked outside, and then stepped out, pointing his revolver at the hoodie-clad robber. It took him by surprise when he entered the passageway after giving his partner the nod and heard him enter an adjacent building and hear the back door close. After him, he went to the door and tried the knob. The entrance was free, so he walked right in.
There were so many boxes and bins crammed into such a little space that it seemed like a maze. By tracking the flashes of the man’s white outfit, he determined that the man had stopped to open a box and bring out a revolver. When Charles approached him, he was in the middle of putting it together.
"We need to talk, so please lay down your firearm." Charles approached the man cautiously.
Despite the sailor’s horrified gaze and tightening hold on the barrel, Charles moved his gun a step higher.
" I need you to join me because we have some questions for you. In an effort to remain calm and defuse the situation," Charles made an effort. When the man’s eyes widened and he began firing, he had no idea what was going to happen to him. To avoid being shot, the man shot back and the man fell to the ground as the man kept shooting at him. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
While hiding behind some of the boxes and bins, Charles gave the guy one last warning by saying, put the gun. When he could see his friend coming up behind him, he spoke up to distract everyone’s attention. To him, the only thing that mattered was that they made it out of there with their lives reasonably unharmed and intact.
