Billionaire's Pleasure-Chapter 144: New Character-Photograph
Sharon Clerk spent most of her time outside. She adored photography and was in awe of the natural world. Despite the fact that she was working on her portfolio to make ends meet, she longed to spend time outside. foliage, trees, and streams, as well as the presence of birds and other wildlife She had never felt more at ease than when she was deep in the woods, photographing vistas that few others had ever seen.
A number of magazines had commissioned her to write articles to accompany them. Despite the fact that she didn’t enjoy writing, she was improving her skills at generating descriptive pieces that helped readers picture the topics she was writing about.
What she learned today left her in a state of astonishment. A body was discovered face down in a field in the middle of nowhere. Her toe poked at it cautiously as she approached. When she felt the tremors in his body, she knew he was still alive. She bent down to help him roll over and saw a handsome man in a navy uniform. He was at least two hours away from the nearest naval port or coast. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"What are you doing all the way out in the wilderness?" He looked at her, one eye open, and asked, "What’s going on?" As he sat up, he whispered something and raised his head.
"I’m sure you had a good time celebrating all the way out here."
"No, it was only a short walk away in the town. The stripper took me back to my hotel. The woman stole my wallet as soon as she dropped me off and fled."
"You let a stripper take advantage of you?" Before she cracked a smile, Sharon gave him a long, thoughtful gaze. "You’re kidding, right?"
"You remind me of hot chocolate because of your cinnamon and vanilla scent." He took a deep breath, ashamed, and said, "I’m sorry. Let me take your cell phone so I may summon help from a fellow comrade."
" I’m really sorry."
"I am Charles Dickens. But you can call me Charles if you like."
"My name is Sharon." When she lifted him, he towered above her. Her age didn’t matter; he still made her feel small and helpless since she could feel his muscles through his clothing. He didn’t even know she wasn’t a child.
"Are you aware that your skin is a dark mocha? Your eyes have a whiskey-like quality to them, too." While staring down at her, she heard him say, "I totally am not hitting on you," as he peered down." Despite this, I think you’re stunning. I’m grateful for your help." Sharon wasn’t sure if she should laugh or feel ashamed.
"Is there anyone who is missing you?" She asked him a few pointed questions, all the while diverting the conversation to something else.
"Do you know what kind of job I have? I’m a private investigator, and I’m here to help you. I’m on vacation at the moment. For a short time, I was an enlisted man in the navy. It didn’t take me long to discover that investigations and undercover operations were more my speed. Because I’m talking too much, please tell me what a beautiful woman like you is doing outdoors."
"I am a photographer. I’m here to finish a project. Actually, don’t move; the lighting here is fantastic." While stepping back from him, she snapped a few photos of him in his puzzled state as the sun rose above the trees.
"Perfect!"
"That’s fine with me if that’s what you want."
"I have a consent form in my safe. If you don’t mind, I’d like to use and sell these images with your permission." Sharon asked him with her teeth showing through her lips as she grinned at him.
"Only when you agree to go out with me."
She paused for a moment. Even though she found his past fascinating, she had no idea who he was and could sense he could be a bit of a troublemaker. She’d never been out on a date with a guy who was in the military before. She dated a lot of professors and bankers.
When she first saw him, he reminded her of Hercules because of his overwhelming might. Possibly, a shift in the kind of man we attract would be advantageous. At the very least, she deserves some amusement.
She handed him a release form and a pen after saying yes. "My choice of time and location is included in the deal."
"As long as it’s within the next week, otherwise I get to pick," he remarked as he finished and returned the paper to her. "Would you mind lending me your phone number?"
"If it doesn’t work, how about I give you a lift?" Sharon offered before she could say no. Inexplicably, she felt obliged to help him. For some reason, she was drawn to him. Despite his stature and obvious military training, she was unfazed by him. Even though he portrays himself as a bad guy, he often acts foolishly rather than terrifyingly.
"I’d offer to cover your gas expenses, but I don’t have my money with me." When he gave her that odd grin, she laughed.
"I think I can afford the gas to help you out as long as you pay for dinner." She let him know before igniting her car. As he slid into the seat next to her, his blue eyes sparkled.
"I expected nothing less than this." He mused, winking, and replied, "Lunch is traditionally paid for by a gentleman when he sees an attractive woman."
While driving him out of the park’s parking lot Sharon said, "Somehow, you don’t impress me as much of a gentleman."
Even though Sharon didn’t want to get too close to her rogue naval guy, she found herself saying yes to another date after a particular evening.
A picnic would be an ideal location for their next date because of her love of the outdoors, he told her as they left the restaurant. Despite the fact that it was merely a brief kiss on the cheek, her stomach began to rumble. Despite his cautious demeanor around her, she had imagined he was a more outgoing man.
Irritated or flattered, she wasn’t sure which emotion she should have felt. Regardless of how she felt about it, she beamed at him. In addition, they set a day and time.
