Chapter 838: Chapter 698: Like Nothing Happened? Not a Chance!

Long Che looked up at Yi Luowa and said with a smile, "Your dad and I played a few games, all ended in a draw. It gets kind of boring."

"So, do you want me to win or lose?" Yi Luowa sat down with a smile.

"It’s three against one, just show your real skills." The Grand Emperor of Haotian sat next to Long Che, and Tong Airui stood behind his dad.

"Playing against three masters, I must bring out the real skills!" Yi Luowa chuckled, "Let’s start."

The group of them sat in the study for three hours, and with a three-against-one setup, Yi Luowa still won three out of five games. If it weren’t for the kids coming in to look for their mom, Long Che and the Grand Emperor of Haotian would’ve wanted to play a few more rounds.

"I haven’t had this much fun in a while!" The Grand Emperor of Haotian stood up with a laugh, "Luowa, take them out to play."

Yi Luowa chuckled, then led Tong Airui and the three kids out the door.

As soon as she stepped out, Yi Luowa laughed, "Were you afraid Dad might notice you were helping me?"

"How could someone as skilled as me be found out by them?" Tong Airui laughed, patting her shoulder, "However, your skills are not to be underestimated. Even without my help, you could still win one or two games."

"It’s been a long time since I’ve played chess. I’m a bit rusty."

"And you haven’t touched racing in ages too, it’s all my fault. After marrying me, you have no time for yourself."

Yi Luowa pursed her lips and smiled, "When the kids grow up, I’ll have time. By then, we can travel the world like Mom and Dad."

Zi Yan, walking ahead, turned back to glance at his mom.

Yi Luowa smiled, "Don’t worry, I’ll only go when you don’t need us anymore."

"We always need mom!" the three little ones chimed in unison.

Yi Luowa smiled helplessly, "When you grow up, you won’t need us like you do now."

"Who said that? We don’t believe it!" Sang Yu pouted and said, "Even though Mom and Dad are so grown-up, they still can’t do without Grandma, Grandpa, and the other grandparents."

Yi Luowa laughed, "That pout could tether a donkey."

Sang Yu waved at Zi Xi, "Come over here, let’s tether it to Sis’s mouth."

Zi Xi picked up on her sister’s meaning, puffed up angrily, and looked at Mom, "Mama, Sis called me a donkey!"

"Your sister’s just playing with you, don’t be mad. Let’s go see the animals in the garden."

"I want to ride the alpaca." Zi Xi laughed and ran off.

Yi Luowa turned her head towards Tong Airui, "Can you ride an alpaca?"

"If your son says he can ride, then he can. I’ll take them over first. You grab a hat and a long-sleeved shirt."

"It’s fine, big sis has natural beauty and isn’t afraid of the sun."

"Haha... Mom’s already become Dad’s big sister." With that, Sang Yu took her brother and ran off too.

Tong Airui smiled helplessly, grabbed his wife’s hand, and followed the kids out the door.

The family played in the garden until dinner time before they returned. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

The next day, Tong Airui got busy with work. Three days later, Long Che and Tong Yao took the three kids to Country S, and Yi Luowa and Tong Airui returned to Xia Wu.

Youyou heard Yi Luowa was back, and together with Joyina and Connie, they greeted her at the gate early.

Seeing them, Yi Luowa quickly got out of the car, and they all hugged and laughed.

Youyou said with a smile, "Sis, you finally returned. If you delayed any longer, we were going to go crazy."

"Joyina came back saying you were skinny, and now hugging you, you’re really all bones." Connie said, sizing up Yi Luowa, "I had the kitchen prepare some supplements for you. Eat more in the next few days."

"You’re trying to fatten me up into a little piglet!" Yi Luowa laughed, holding Connie’s hand, "Come on, let’s go inside and chat. I have so much to tell you."

Youyou and Connie followed Yi Luowa into the hall, and Joyina rather reluctantly trailed behind them.

Yi Luowa turned to her, "Joyina, hurry up... huh? What’s up with you, pouting so much?"

Youyou huffed, "Ignore her. It’s her own fault. She got a script recently and got itchy to shoot it, but her usual leading man is missing."

Yi Luowa was surprised, "Her usual leading man? Ke Jingran?"

"Who else could it be! I’m so mad. Didn’t even leave a word then left." Joyina gave a kick to the stone path, "I can’t find a proper replacement; how am I supposed to shoot this?"

"Did he go back to his hometown? I remember it’s around his brother’s death anniversary these days."

Joyina frowned thoughtfully, "I hope it’s just as you said."

Just as Joyina was thinking about Ke Jingran, Ke Jingran’s call came through.

Seeing his number, Joyina quickly answered the call, "Ke Jingran, where did you go?!"

"I’m at my hometown, came back to pay respects to my parents and brother."

Joyina’s brows knitted slightly, "Stay a few days then come back, don’t be too sad, and take care of yourself."

"Mm, I saw your text, and I’ll be back in a day or two... I just saw the news that Airui has returned."

"Yes, just arrived home."

"That’s good, safe return." Ke Jingran chuckled, "Won’t bother you anymore, bye."

"Bye." After the call with Ke Jingran, Joyina immediately perked up, with a smile, catching up to Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa glanced back, seeing Yuan Hang handing Si Ming to Kou’er, chatting with Tong Airui and said with a smile, "It’s hot out here, don’t let the kids get sunburned, discuss indoors."

Yuan Hang responded with a smile, telling Kou’er, "Take the kid inside, I’ll chat with Grandpa for a bit."

Kou’er nodded, holding her son, and entered the hall.

"What are they murmuring about?" Yi Luowa touched Si Ming’s little face and asked.

Kou’er pursed her lips, "Bu..."

Connie shook her head at Kou’er.

Kou’er got the hint, quickly corrected herself, "Business."

Yi Luowa looked skeptically at both of them, "And where are the men of the house? Knowing we’re back today, none of them have shown up. Planning a rebellion!"

Youyou pouted, "Sis, Mi Chenxuan has been at the grassroots level for days without coming home."

"And your people?" Yi Luowa turned to Connie.

"Went to the company, should be back soon."

"Joyina, what about my third brother?"

"He went to the company, too. I called him; he said he’s coming home with old five."

Watching them, Yi Luowa couldn’t shake the feeling something was off, "Did my second uncle also go to the company?"

Connie replied ambiguously, "Possibly. After Zi Yan and the other two left with Mom and Dad, the second uncle and Huo Li moved back home. Haven’t seen them in a while."

Yi Luowa slightly frowned, "Where have all the little monks of the house gone?"

"Playing upstairs, I’ll call them down." Youyou hurried upstairs as if escaping.

"Joyina, do you have anything to say to me?" Yi Luowa gestured at the stairs, "Or, should you also go upstairs to call the kids down?"

"Oh, oh, you reminded me. I should go up." Joyina chuckled awkwardly and quickly went upstairs.

Yi Luowa side-eyed Connie, "Alright, tell me, what’s happened?"

Connie shook her head with a smile, "Nothing’s happened."

"That’s hard to believe! You’re the worst liar. And Kou’er, I can tell what you’re thinking with just one look!"

Kou’er forced a smile, "Luowa, I’ve been with you this whole month, even if something happened at home, I wouldn’t know."

Yi Luowa sighed, "Alright, I won’t make it hard for you. Once Tong Airui comes in, I’ll know what’s up."
