Chapter 798: Chapter 664 How is your investigation going, Uncle? (Second Update)

"Bargen, there are some things you’re better off not knowing. Go back now. No matter who asks you, just tell them you haven’t seen me or my sister."

Bargen nodded heavily and quickly left the tent.

As Tong Airui was about to enter the tent, Yi Luowa came out carrying a suitcase. "Honey, we can’t stay here any longer. I hope they haven’t found our plane yet."

"Hard to say, but my phone hasn’t issued any alerts yet, which means they haven’t tampered with the plane." Tong Airui took the suitcase and, holding Yi Luowa close, they quickly walked toward the landing site.

Yi Luowa reached for the handgun at her waist. Tong Airui patted her on the shoulder with a smile. "Don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to you."

Yi Luowa pouted. "I’m not worried. I just want to protect you."

Tong Airui chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Thanks, dear! I’ve just gone over Bargen’s words again. They probably know our general location, but they haven’t found us yet."

Yi Luowa blinked. "Who do you think these people are?"

"No idea. But one thing’s for sure—they’re not on our side." Tong Airui scanned the area warily, then walked ahead quickly with Yi Luowa.

As they got closer to the plane, a voice emerged from the shadows in the grass. "Master!"

"Yuan Hang, how are you here?" Tong Airui was briefly stunned.

Yuan Hang emerged from the grass with a dozen men. "Get on the plane first—we’ll explain later. Group A, board the master’s plane. Group B, board the plane we came on."

"Yes!"

The dozen men responded in unison and swiftly boarded the planes.

Once on the plane, Yuan Hang explained, "Someone posted a series of lakeside photos online. In those photos, we spotted you and Luowa. I figured if we could find you, others could too. I was worried about your safety, so we came."

"You didn’t run around showing those photos to find me, did you?"

"No, we just arrived. When we spotted your plane here and heard footsteps, we set up an ambush," Yuan Hang paused. "Someone else beat us to it and got here first?"

"Yeah."

The plane slowly ascended into the sky, and the grass below swayed wildly in the wind. Yi Luowa glanced down through the window and noticed several dark figures running toward the temporary airstrip.

Yi Luowa tapped Tong Airui’s arm.

Tong Airui glanced over and said in a deep voice, "Yuan Hang, eliminate them."

"Yes!" Yuan Hang picked up the phone and called his brothers on the other plane.

After a few gunshots, the running figures collapsed to the ground.

"Master, should we head to Xiawu or Haotian?"

"Haotian. Where’s the family now?"

"When we came, the family had already gone to Haotian."

Yi Luowa turned her head to Yuan Hang. "The kids aren’t causing trouble, are they?"

"Not causing trouble, but they’ve been missing you two every day."

Yi Luowa looked down guiltily. "We didn’t even call them when we left. They must feel terrible."

"Make it up to them properly when we get back." Tong Airui gently touched her head. "Yuan Hang, who took those photos? That’s on me—I got too carried away and wasn’t careful."

"It’s a renowned photographer from H Country. If it were an ordinary person, we wouldn’t have noticed the photos. Since we couldn’t reach you, I’ve already instructed the lawyer to send him a legal notice."

Yi Luowa sighed. "Don’t be too hard on the guy."

"Alright." Yuan Hang nodded, then turned to Tong Airui and asked, "Master, should we notify the family to send reinforcements?"

"No need. We’ll just stay alert ourselves."

As Tong Airui was speaking, Mi Chenxuan called Yuan Hang’s phone.

Yuan Hang acknowledged briefly, then handed the phone to Tong Airui.

"Fourth Brother, I’ve already sent people to intercept you. You’ll meet them in half an hour."

"Any activity on the ground?"

"The ML faction is stirring. Ever since we bombed Wuming Island, they’ve been restless. But for some reason, they didn’t mobilize troops to support. The day after the island was destroyed, the ML King sent a private request to my uncle, asking for Sato Shoko’s body."

"And what did my dad say?"

"Uncle said if they want the body, they should go to the island and look for it themselves. He’s only responsible for destruction, not cleanup."

Tong Airui chuckled. "My dad wants to provoke them into action. Did you find Sato Shoko’s body?"

"We did. It was blown to pieces. We had to do a DNA test to confirm the identity."

"What about Baili Zijin’s group? How did you handle them?"

"Didn’t you say to throw them into the sea as shark bait? Our Youyou slashed their arms and dragged them off the boat into the water. In no time, a dozen sharks showed up..."

Yi Luowa shuddered. "Youyou is ruthless!"

Mi Chenxuan laughed. "Sister-in-law, we had to do it. It’s not just punishment for them; it’s also a warning to others. Let’s see who else dares to mess with our family."

Tong Airui seemed satisfied and said with a smile, "It’s done, so let’s not dwell on it."

"Were there any survivors on the island?" Yi Luowa asked.

"None. The few who managed to escape were blown into the sea by our airstrikes shortly after."

Tong Airui checked the time. "Eighth Brother, you did well this time! We’ll discuss the details when I get back."

"Alright, Fourth Brother. Keep your phone on. It’s too hard to get in touch with you otherwise."

"I’ll turn it on when I get to Haotian. For now, if you need me, call Yuan Hang’s phone."

Mi Chenxuan immediately understood and agreed before hanging up.

Tong Airui handed the phone back to Yuan Hang. "How’s that uncle investigation coming along?"

"Sato Shoko’s uncles and cousins—thirty in total. I’ve compiled the list. Would you like to look now?"

"Yes."

Yuan Hang handed over a stack of files.

Tong Airui scanned through a few and tossed aside the ones that didn’t fit.

"How should I filter them? I’ll help you," Yi Luowa offered, leaning in to take a look.

Tong Airui handed her half. "Eliminate anyone without financial resources."

Yi Luowa understood and quickly discarded half the names. "There aren’t many wealthy siblings in the Sato family."

"Sato Hara was naturally distrustful. He suppressed many of his wealthy and powerful relatives—they posed a threat to him or could seize control of R Country’s economy."

"Someone like that deserves no sympathy for losing his nation." Yi Luowa handed the selected files back to Tong Airui.

After glancing at them, Tong Airui passed the files to Yuan Hang. "Send people to secretly investigate these individuals and see if you can find anything."

"Yes!"

"Honestly, it’s probably a waste of time. These people don’t seem like the type. Tell me, what kind of brothers could Sato Hara have?"

"An illegitimate child of his father, or maybe someone his mother had with another man. Haha..." Yi Luowa burst into laughter after speaking.

Tong Airui gave her a blank stare.

Yi Luowa quickly stopped laughing. "I’ll behave. Go handle your proper business."

Tong Airui reached out to pinch her nose. "Your joke actually gave me an idea. Yuan Hang, once we’re back, continue looking into whether there are illegitimate children in the Sato family."

"For a royal family, scandals like that are hardly rare. I’ll start investigating as soon as we return."

"Good."

Yuan Hang hesitated briefly and said in a low voice, "Master, Qiu Hong called me the other day. He said he wants to come back."
