Chapter 676: Chapter 573: Honey, I’ve Caused You More Trouble Again (Third Update)

"I said: I’ll go back with you." Yi Luowa looked at him miserably, "Hubby, stop joking around. I have a fear of heights, please put me down."

Tong Airui looked at her in amusement, "Since when did you develop a fear of heights?"

Yi Luowa replied earnestly, "Ever since I met you on that cliff, I’ve been afraid of heights."

"Liar! I saw you climbing up and down at the car factory like a nimble little monkey! Luowa Montbatten, be honest with me—are you regretting marrying me?"

Yi Luowa pouted angrily and kicked him. "What nonsense are you saying! I’m secretly delighted; why would I regret it?"

Tong Airui laughed, setting her down and pinching her nose lightly. "Even if you regret it, it’s too late! If you say something like that again, I’ll keep you grounded for a whole month!"

Yi Luowa pursed her lips, "Aren’t you afraid of overexerting yourself?"

"No matter how worn-out I am, taking care of you is light work!" Tong Airui laughed and bumped his forehead lightly against hers.

Yi Luowa rubbed her forehead and looked outside. She could hear her mother questioning Xiang Zuo about who told him about the child.

Xiang Zuo chuckled bitterly, "I only talked to Katyusha about it, and Joel told me. He said you suspect the child is his and that he doesn’t want to take the blame for me."

Queen Haotian chuckled helplessly, "That guy is so gullible. I was just joking with him." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Seeing her mother looking visibly exasperated, Yi Luowa quietly took Tong Airui’s hand and returned to the bedroom.

"Aren’t you staying with your mom?"

"I can’t be by her side forever. Besides, she did just fine without me before." Yi Luowa opened the closet wistfully, glanced at the clothes her mother had prepared for her, sighed, and closed it again.

Tong Airui approached her. "Children grow up and leave their parents eventually. Fortunately, Xiawu and Haotian are neighboring countries, so you can visit them anytime."

Yi Luowa puffed her cheeks. "But you didn’t have to leave your family."

"I did leave them—at fifteen, I moved away. It’s only been a few years since I came back."

"Hubby, when the time comes, let’s find a live-in son-in-law for Sangyu, shall we? Living like this is too unbearable."

"Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Remember when we were guarding against You Jia as if she were a thief, only for Ai Ni to end up falling for her tricks?"

Yi Luowa pouted, pointing at the wardrobe. "I don’t want to pack these clothes; it’s too sentimental. You pack them later. Leave the outfits Mom gave; I want to wear them when I come back."

"There are still several days before we leave." Tong Airui smiled and ruffled her hair. "When the time comes, I’ll pack everything—no need for you to worry."

Yi Luowa sniffled and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Wife, don’t be like this—we haven’t even left yet, and you’re already moody. Dad and Mom will get affected if you keep this up."

Yi Luowa blinked, then suddenly flopped onto the bed with a thud.

Tong Airui walked over and lightly ruffled her hair.

Yi Luowa, slightly annoyed, moved his hand away.

"Luowa..."

From outside, Tong Yao’s voice called out, "Mom, is everything alright?"

"Sangyu’s awake and crying, looking for Luowa." Tong Yao’s voice hadn’t finished before Sangyu’s sniffles echoed from outside.

"Coming!" Yi Luowa quickly got out of bed and ran out barefoot without putting on shoes.

Tong Airui helplessly carried her shoes to the door. "Put these on first."

Yi Luowa opened the bedroom door and finally put her shoes on.

Sangyu saw her mother and stretched out her chubby arms to hug her.

Yi Luowa caught her quickly. "How did you sleep so long? Did you wake your brother up with your crying?"

Sangyu kicked her tiny feet and pouted, saying hesitantly, "Brother! Kick!"

Yi Luowa looked at her and chuckled. "Your brother kicked you awake?"

Sangyu rubbed her eyes and rested her head on her mother’s shoulder.

"Ziyan sleeps just like you—not very honest!" Tong Airui laughed and patted his daughter’s chubby little cheek.

Sangyu snorted and dodged her father’s hand. "Sleep!"

Tong Yao chuckled, patting her little bottom. "She’s not very rested. Keep coaxing her; she’ll fall asleep again."

Yi Luowa nodded. "Mom, please come in and sit for a while."

"I won’t. I noticed the guests have left, so I’ll chat with your mom instead."

Tong Yao headed toward the main hall, leaving Yi Luowa holding her daughter and pacing back and forth in the room.

Sangyu’s eyelids began drooping in no time.

Tong Airui sighed slightly at the sight of their daughter, then arranged a small nest on the bed for her. He asked softly, "Wife, is this pillow okay?"

Yi Luowa glanced over. "Good enough—she won’t sleep long anyway."

Tong Airui finished preparing the bed for their daughter, then pulled out his phone and started reading a file that had recently come through. He hadn’t finished reading when his expression darkened.

Yi Luowa came over, carrying her daughter. She asked softly, "What happened?"

"Nothing, you focus on putting Sangyu to sleep." Tong Airui turned his phone off and opened his laptop.

Yi Luowa glanced at him suspiciously. Once her daughter was sleeping soundly, she placed her down and approached him.

With a furrowed brow, Tong Airui said, "Someone’s uploaded a bunch of pictures of Nancy with various men online. The title is: The Scandalous Life of the Princess Haotian (Summer Witch Audric Family’s Lady-in-Chief)."

"Let me see,"

Yi Luowa extended her hand to take his phone, but Tong Airui pressed her hand back.

"Don’t let it disgust you."

Yi Luowa smiled faintly. "Hubby, aren’t you even asking me whether I was involved? You’re that sure it wasn’t me?"

"I can recognize my own wife, can’t I?" Tong Airui typed away on his keyboard, quickly shutting his computer after a while. "The IP is traced to R Country. If they want to mess with me, I’ll gladly play along."

"Old Eight and Youyou just returned, yet they’re stirring trouble again?"

"Back then, even if they stirred trouble, nobody knew you. Your face has monopolized almost all Fang Yao Continent’s television screens these past few days."

"So you’re saying there’s still some connection between Nancy and R Country?"

"Yeah, but she’s impossible to track—hidden too deeply. Is she tunneling underground again?"

Yi Luowa scoffed lightly. "She’s like a rat!"

"Good thing I had Little Mule monitoring them. The photos got deleted as soon as they were uploaded. The more I think about it, the more disgusting it is—I must find that wretched woman!" Tong Airui picked up the phone to call his subordinates still stationed in R Country.

Yi Luowa pursed her lips and turned to look at her sleeping daughter. Why can’t people live peacefully? Why do some always scheme to disrupt others’ lives?

Shiqing is one, Katyusha is another, and this Nancy and her accomplices too! So many bad people have faced terrible consequences—don’t they fear ending up the same?

Yi Luowa curled her lips slightly. She gently stroked her daughter’s little bear-shaped hairclip. Once the kids grow older, she’d educate them well, teaching them to be kind people.

Tong Airui made four or five calls in succession. He deployed most of his elite team members to R Country.

Yi Luowa overheard him mention names like Phantom and Ling as targets for the mission. He truly stressed himself out over her issues.

Flushed with guilt, Yi Luowa walked up to him and hugged him tightly around the waist.

Tong Airui lowered his head and kissed her atop her hair, continuing the call with the person on the other end. "The areas I specified are key zones; focus your efforts there. Notify me immediately if there’s any news."

"Understood!" After hearing the reply, Tong Airui pressed his lips tightly and hung up.

"Hubby, I’ve caused you trouble again."

"This trouble might not necessarily be your fault." Tong Airui narrowed his eyes. "For the photos to be posted now—they must be trying to provoke me. What are they planning?"

"To distract you? Weaken your forces?" Yi Luowa instantly grew anxious. "Will Grandma and the others be alright?!"

"They’ll be fine! I’ve arranged escort planes—not just one. They won’t dare act rashly." Tong Airui thought for a moment and added, "Wife, your words reminded me. This might truly be a distraction effort, suggesting something has either happened or is about to happen."

"Something happened... Katyusha’s situation was resolved here, so it must be something imminent! What could it be? Hubby, we need to think carefully—we can’t let them find an opening."

"The Summit Meeting! It’s attended by various top leaders and influential business elites... Wife, keep an eye on Sangyu. I’m going to discuss this with Mom."
