Chapter 526: Chapter 451: Letting You Take a Bite (Second Release)

"What did I promise to tell you about?" Tong Airui feigned ignorance.

Yi Luowa shot him a glance. "Then let me remind you again. Why are there suddenly so many bodyguards at home? Did something happen?"

"With me and Dad around, what could possibly happen? Adding more bodyguards is just a precaution because of that unsolved dismemberment case. We need to remain vigilant at all times."

Yi Luowa stroked her son’s chubby cheek thoughtfully and raised her gaze toward Tong Airui again.

Tong Airui spotted the sharp glint in her eyes and immediately turned to leave.

"Stop right there!" Yi Luowa sat up straight. "If you dare step out, don’t even think about coming back through these doors tonight!"

Tong Airui grinned sheepishly. "I’ll go bring Sang Yu to you."

Yi Luowa let out a cold laugh. "Who’s buying that? If you could bring Sang Yu over, you wouldn’t have started with Ziyan."

"Wifey~"

"Is telling the truth so hard for you?" Yi Luowa glared at him in frustration. "If you won’t say it, I’ll say it for you. Has someone been threatening you and Dad recently?"

"Anyone who dares threaten me and Dad hasn’t been born yet." Tong Airui walked over and gently ruffled her hair. "Don’t overthink it. Get out of bed soon and have breakfast. Then we’ll head to work. That document you were handling needs to be revised today—I’ll need it tomorrow."

"..." Yi Luowa tightly pursed her lips as she stared at him.

Tong Airui chuckled. "Wifey, even if the sky falls, your husband will hold it up for you. Does that answer suit you?"

Yi Luowa pouted. "I don’t mean anything else—it’s just, you seemed absent-minded yesterday, so I wanted to share some of the burden."

"I always share happy things with you, just like yesterday night..." Tong Airui curled his lips into a wicked smile. "Let’s continue tonight. I need to hand over all my stockpile from this past year."

Yi Luowa instinctively covered her son’s ears. "Go do what you need to do and stop saying such things in front of the child."

"He’s a boy—it’s important to educate him early," Tong Airui responded, looking at their son with a chuckle. "Son, once you understand words, Daddy will teach you how to be a good man!"

Ziyan blinked his eyes innocently, then flailed his little fists excitedly a moment later.

Tong Airui reached out to pinch his chubby cheek. "Men just understand men better!"

Yi Luowa saw him pinching their son’s cheek and quickly swatted his hand away. "Your hands are too heavy. Don’t hurt him."

"Then I’ll pinch you instead!" Tong Airui zeroed in on his target and gave her cheek—a plump steamed bun—a firm pinch.

Yi Luowa let out a pained squeal. "You’re crazy!"

"Haha... Don’t be mad. Here, bite me instead." Tong Airui laughed and held his hand up to her mouth.

Yi Luowa bit down hard, feeling slightly appeased afterward.

"Hehe..." Blissfully unaware of the situation, little Ziyan burst into laughter.

"Mommy’s being bullied, and you’re still laughing so happily!" Yi Luowa pouted as she sat up. "I’m getting up now. I’m not coming back to see you the entire day."

Little Ziyan froze, his chubby hands left hanging mid-air.

Yi Luowa tilted her head at her son, puzzled. "What’s wrong with you?"

"Waaah..." Ziyan cried out aggrievedly.

Yi Luowa panicked immediately.

Tong Airui didn’t understand what was going on either, so he opened the door and shouted, "Sister Li, Ziyan’s crying—come take a look."

The nanny came running in, saw Ziyan’s little face turning red from holding it in, and laughed. "Duke Airui, it’s time for the little master to poop, but with his diaper on, he refuses to go."

"Good grief, what a hassle!" Tong Airui exclaimed in exasperated amusement.

Yi Luowa chuckled too. "Sister Li, please help him out quickly. Let’s not keep him holding it in."

The nanny scooped up Ziyan with a laugh and walked briskly back to the nursery.

Tong Yao emerged from her daughter’s room after hearing her son’s shout. "Airui, what’s wrong with Ziyan?"

"He needs to poop."

Tong Yao promptly returned to her daughter’s room and called out to Long Che, "Quick, bring Sang Yu out—it’s time. Otherwise, if Ni’er catches the smell later, she’ll throw up."

Long Che hurriedly carried Sang Yu out of the room.

Yi Luowa stood in the middle of her bedroom, letting out a helpless laugh. This whole morning felt like a stage play—it was lively, to say the least!

After breakfast, Yi Luowa and Tong Airui headed out. Just as they got into the car, Tong Airui’s phone rang.

Tong Airui hesitated before answering the call.

"Fourth Brother, Park Shunyan has arrived at Xiawu."

"Mm."

"He’s at the gate of the Shenying team, saying he wants to meet Fourth Sister-in-law."

"Mm. Mm?"

"He’s sitting at the gate, refusing to leave unless he gets to meet her."

"I’ll be there shortly." Tong Airui finally gave a proper response and hung up after saying that.

Yi Luowa pouted and turned her face to look out the window. He clearly didn’t want her to know what was going on, which is why he kept responding so dismissively with "Mm" and "Mm." Tong Airui reached out to pull Yi Luowa into his embrace and directed Mi Chenxuan, who was driving, "Chenxuan, go around and enter through the west gate."

"Alright." Mi Chenxuan turned the car toward the side road. "Fourth Brother, who are you trying to avoid?"

"Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t be asking!" Tong Airui kneaded his forehead. "Yuan Hang talks a lot too, but compared to you guys, he’s much better."

"Missing Yuan Hang, huh?" Mi Chenxuan teased with a laugh. "Is Yuan Hang coming back soon?"

"Half a month."

"Phew—I’m finally about to be freed." Mi Chenxuan, overjoyed, even started humming a little tune.

Tong Airui’s lips twitched slightly. "Drive the car. Sorry to trouble you."

Mi Chenxuan chuckled. "At least you acknowledge it! I’m a squad leader, after all... wait, Fourth Brother, does this mean I’ll keep driving for a while, even after Yuan Hang returns? Shouldn’t I get a promotion? He’s older and should step up."

"Yuan Hang told me before he left that he was worried someone might replace him. He enjoys driving for me more than you do." Tong Airui smiled. "I’m used to having him as the driver—switching to someone else, especially you, just feels awkward."

Yi Luowa fluttered her fan-like eyelashes and joked, "Use me instead—I’ll be your chauffeur. After all, I did win several racing championships. Typing away at a computer daily has worn me out."

"Fourth Sister-in-law, are you crazy? My Fourth Brother would never let you be his chauffeur."

Yi Luowa asked in confusion, "Why not?"

"Imagine if one day my Fourth Brother wanted to pick up a girl; he’d have to say ’Honey, drive me to the hotel,’ and you’d sit in the car waiting while he’s inside busy putting in work."

Tong Airui smacked Mi Chenxuan before he could finish his sentence.

Yi Luowa grabbed hold of Tong Airui’s hand, using hers to massage his temple as she laughed. "Chenxuan, have you taken my Fourth Brother to a hotel before?"

"Often." Having already been smacked, Mi Chenxuan gave up and pouted. "Fourth Sister-in-law, if you don’t see me tomorrow, it means your Fourth Brother has killed me to silence me. You better avenge me!"

"He wouldn’t dare! Tell me, how many times has he gone to hotels?"

"Let me count... nine times!"

Tong Airui rolled his eyes at both of them. These two were just killing time with idle chatter. He let them talk—the truth can stand the test of shadowy accusations anyway.

When the car reached the west gate, the chattering duo fell silent. They weren’t talking now because there was a commotion outside the gate.

Tong Airui glanced ahead and saw two team members struggling to drag a man away, yet the man seemed glued to the ground, utterly immovable.

When Tong Airui finally got a good look at the man, his previously handsome and composed face immediately turned icy. He’d miscalculated! He thought this guy would be waiting at the main entrance—but who could’ve guessed he’d come to the west gate instead?

Yi Luowa found it amusing and remarked, "To keep me in the dark, you didn’t even bother checking first—you made us detour to the west gate, only to find him sitting here. You’ve just served yourself up on a silver platter! Haha... how’s the taste of eating crow now?"

"I’ll eat you!" Tong Airui grabbed her head and pressed her into his lap. "Chenxuan, drive straight in."

Her head pinned by his large hand, Yi Luowa couldn’t lift it—and, in her frustration, she chomped down.

Tong Airui let out a muffled grunt of pain. "Silly wife, do you dare bite anywhere?"

"Haha... where did she bite? Where!?" Mi Chenxuan laughed as he honked to signal the gate to open.

Yi Luowa’s cheeks slightly flushed as she let go of her bite.

The sentry saw the captain’s car approaching and quickly pressed the button to open the gate.

Park Shunyan spotted Tong Airui’s car and broke free from the two team members holding him, running straight toward the car.

Mi Chenxuan clicked his tongue. "This guy has a death wish, huh? I really don’t like killing—what am I supposed to do about this?"

"See what he wants—avoiding him won’t solve anything," Yi Luowa said, patting Tong Airui’s leg.

"That man’s clearly unhinged! Stop the car and lock the doors and windows!" Tong Airui’s brows furrowed tightly as he pulled out his phone to call the bodyguards trailing behind.

"Take that lunatic into your car, search him, then bring him to my office."

"Understood!"

A few burly men quickly hopped out of the escort vehicle. Their leader approached Park Shunyan and whispered something in his ear. Park Shunyan nodded repeatedly before following them into their vehicle.

Only when Park Shunyan got into the car did Tong Airui release his wife.

As soon as Yi Luowa sat back up, Mi Chenxuan turned his head to look at them. "Haha... let me take a look, where was the bite?"

Tong Airui raised his hand, ready to smack him.

Mi Chenxuan quickly ducked his head. "Judging by your reaction, it wasn’t in a good place."

Tong Airui glared at him. "Just drive! I still have to deal with that lunatic."
