Chapter 510: Chapter 439: Has There Been a Precedent Before? (Second Update)

Colin saluted Tong Airui, "I’ll follow the captain’s orders."

Tong Airui raised his hand, signaling him to sit down, then turned to Sheng Duheng, "Captain Sheng, make sure the logistical support is fully prepared."

"Yes!"

Sheng Duheng was about to stand up when Tong Airui quickly pressed him back down.

"Second Uncle, my aunt said she wants to stay on Laiwang Island for a few more days. She asked me to let you know."

Sheng Duheng smiled, "Our childhoods were spent there. Your aunt never wants to leave every time she visits. Let her stay as long as she wants."

"I’ll make a call. If anything comes up here, I’ll handle it when I return." Tong Airui strode out of the command hall.

Colin chuckled, "Who wants to bet ten bucks? I guarantee the captain’s calling Yi Can."

Squad Leader Zhong gave him a disdainful look, "Tch~ Everyone with half a brain knows that. Bet on that crap? Come on, focus on the combat plan. If the captain comes back and asks us questions, you’re dragging us all into the scolding."

Colin huffed, then sat down.

The Chief of Staff, seated beside him, spoke up with a smile, "Deputy Captain Colin, just a reminder, from now on, don’t call Yi Can ’Engineer Yi’ anymore. You must address him as Staff Yi."

Colin blinked. "Has the appointment come through? Just a staff role—way too underutilized for him."

"That’s the captain’s intention—he wants Staff Yi to start from the grassroots level."

Colin glanced at him. "You’ll be Staff Yi’s direct superior in the future. Keep a close eye on him; Yi Can is an absolute talent!"

The Chief of Staff nodded repeatedly, "Rest assured, Deputy Captain Colin. I’ll make sure that the gold shines."

Sheng Duheng gave Colin a firm pat on the shoulder, "You’d better draft the plan quickly. Don’t wait until Airui comes back to chew us out."

Tong Airui wasn’t in the mood to scold anyone right now—he was getting an earful from his wife!

The moment Yi Luowa answered the phone, she started berating him. At first, Tong Airui was completely baffled, but as she continued, he finally began to grasp the situation.

"Darling, I did it entirely for your own good. I heard that after breastfeeding, you might... sag."

Yi Luowa angrily shouted, "Shut up! If I sag, that’s my choice!"

"Alright, alright, I won’t say another word. Next time something like this happens, I’ll definitely discuss it with you. Let’s not stay mad—it’s bad for your health."

"Hmph! When are you coming back? I’ve already bought durian."

Tong Airui chuckled, "I’m technically back already. But I won’t be home for a while. Keep the durian for me; I’ll kneel to it when I return."

Yi Luowa’s tone turned serious, "What happened?"

"War is imminent."

Yi Luowa instinctively gripped the phone tightly, "Are you heading to the front lines?"

"No, but I need to stay at Shen Eagle around the clock to deal with emergencies."

"Will the training classes still continue as usual?"

"The training won’t be affected."

"Then I’ll wait until Mom and Dad are back, and I’ll come over too. If things really kick off, it’s a rare opportunity for practical experience. I want to watch and learn."

"That works—you’re welcome anytime." Tong Airui glanced at the time, "Darling, I have to return to the command room now."

"Go ahead, get back to work." Yi Luowa put down the phone, still feeling uneasy.

That evening, Long Che and Tong Yao returned, and early next morning, Yi Luowa took one last look at her two children before heading out from Duke’s estate.

Just as the car reached the highway entrance, its path was blocked by a white Ferrari sports car.

The driver, Xiao Gao, firmly honked the horn.

A tall young man stepped out of the Ferrari.

Yi Luowa froze for a second. This slightly androgynous young man bore a resemblance to an actor from a popular drama.

"Hello." The young man approached the car and politely greeted Xiao Gao, who had already stepped out.

"What’s going on? Why are you blocking the only entrance?"

"Sorry, the car broke down suddenly. I already called roadside assistance, but they haven’t arrived yet."

Xiao Gao glanced at the white Ferrari, then waved over several more bodyguards.

"Move the car out of the way."

With Xiao Gao’s order, several bodyguards rushed over and pushed the Ferrari to the side in just a few seconds.

The young man shrugged helplessly, "I think I’ve run into a group of savages."

Yi Luowa lowered her window and looked up at him.

Only then did the young man notice the passenger within the car. When he saw Yi Luowa, his eyes lit up unmistakably, "OMG!"

"OMG doesn’t help!" Yi Luowa pursed her lips. "Could you move aside? I’m in a hurry."

"Even if you’re rushing, a few moments wouldn’t hurt." The young man smiled and pulled a business card out from the shredded jeans he wore. "Beautiful lady, it’s an honor to meet you. Here’s my card—it has my name, QQ, WeChat, Weibo, and phone number."

Yi Luowa’s lips twitched slightly as she took the card without even looking at it. "If there’s nothing else, please move. I really don’t have time."

"Where are you headed, Miss? Any chance you could give me a ride?"

Yi Luowa furrowed her brows slightly. Could this guy be even clingier than Silly Xuan?

"Not a chance!" Xiao Gao walked over, "Mr. Park Shunyan, not everyone is someone you can casually hit on, and not every car is one you can randomly hop into."

Park Shunyan turned to Xiao Gao, "Do you know me?"

Xiao Gao nodded calmly, "I do. So please pay more attention to your public image."

"Thanks for the reminder." Park Shunyan instantly put on his signature smile, "Just tell me who this beautiful lady is, and I’ll leave. OK?"

Xiao Gao’s lips twitched, and he turned to Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa signaled him with her eyes.

Understanding her cue, Xiao Gao quickly waved over two bodyguards. Without a word, they grabbed Park Shunyan by his arms and pulled him aside.

Xiao Gao opened the car door and drove toward the toll station.

"I thought he looked like a celebrity from H country, and it turns out he actually is. But he’s so different from his on-screen persona." Yi Luowa muttered from inside the car.

Xiao Gao sighed in disappointment, "Madam Luowa, I used to be a diehard fan of his. Always loved that domineering CEO vibe he gives off in dramas. But now his image in my mind is totally shattered."

"Haha... Who knew? A chance encounter actually cost him a fan."

"The guy’s rich and famous, doesn’t need me as a fan anyway. From now on, I’ll stick to idolizing our Third Master from the family."

Yi Luowa nodded in agreement, "Makes sense—Third Brother is indeed reliable, authentic both on and off screen."

Xiao Gao laughed, "Madam Luowa, I remember our Third Master once posted a photo interacting with you on Weibo. At the time, everyone in the comments was unanimously shipping you two—that he’d finally found true love. But later we found out, you’re Fourth Master’s true love. Haha..."

"Haha..." Yi Luowa laughed as well, "Come to think of it, it’s pretty amusing. Back then I’d call your Third Master ’idol’ every day; who would’ve thought I’d end up part of the family."

Chatting and laughing, they soon arrived at Shen Eagle. Xiao Gao produced the access pass and drove into the compound, while the following convoy of bodyguard vehicles parked outside.

Yi Luowa headed straight upstairs, where Sheng Duheng was waiting at the stairway. Seeing her arrive, he smiled, "Airui is in a meeting. He asked me to come and escort you."

Yi Luowa smiled, "Second Uncle, you’re an elder. You don’t need to escort me."

Sheng Duheng chuckled lovingly, "Consider it me asking a favor from you."

"If you have any requests, just tell me directly," Yi Luowa replied cheerfully with a laugh.

Sheng Duheng opened his office door, "Let’s talk inside."

Yi Luowa entered the office with a smile, "Second Uncle, just let me know. If it’s something I can do, I’ll definitely help."

"Chen Shuo reached out to me a while ago, wanting to send a few actors here to experience military life. I agreed without much thought at the time, but when I mentioned it to Airui this morning, he didn’t say yes or no. That’s when I realized I might have made a mistake."

"Have there been any prior instances like this?"

"No."

Yi Luowa pondered for a moment before her dark eyes lit up. "Second Uncle, I have an idea. Aren’t we recruiting new team members soon? Why not ask my Third Brother to shoot a promotional video for us? Use his star power to encourage active participation. That way, Tong Airui won’t object."

"That’s a great idea. But you’ll still need to smooth things over with Airui on my behalf."

"No problem," Yi Luowa readily agreed.

Sheng Duheng smiled, "Your new uniform is in Airui’s office. Go put it on, and I’ll take you to the command room."

"Yes, sir!" Yi Luowa playfully replied and headed to Tong Airui’s office.

The uniform was lying on the sofa. Yi Luowa picked it up, stepped into the adjoining room, and started changing. Just as she was putting it on, she noticed the shoulder insignia had three additional colors.

"Squad leader now—pretty good!" Yi Luowa happily changed into her uniform and followed Sheng Duheng to the operations command room.

The command room was packed with people, all attentively listening to Colin analyze the current battle situation.

Tong Airui was seated in the first row, his eyes fixed on the large screen on the wall. As the corner of his eye caught sight of his wife entering, he let a subtle smile tug at his lips.
