Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 468 - 404 Details Indescribable! (First Update)
Tong Airui smiled and gently squeezed her hand, "Let’s not overthink it. As long as you and the baby are healthy, that’s all that matters."
Yi Luowa pouted, "How am I going to explain this to Dad?"
"There’s still a one-quarter chance." Tong Airui grabbed a tissue to wipe the ultrasound gel off her belly, then helped her put on her pants. "If the two turn out the same, I’ll take them both with me to protect the homeland."
Yi Luowa sighed, swinging her little feet while sitting on the edge of the bed. She didn’t dare go out.
Tong Airui squatted down and lightly tapped her small foot, "Don’t wiggle around. Let’s get your shoes on."
Yi Luowa reached out and rubbed his head, "You go out first. After you’ve talked to Dad, I’ll come out."
Tong Airui smiled helplessly, "Alright—I’ll head out first. Hand me that foot." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Yi Luowa obediently extended her foot.
The ultrasound technician looked at Tong Airui in shock; it was the first time she’d seen the captain acting so tenderly.
Tong Airui lifted his gaze to the technician, "Give me the ultrasound photo."
"Oh, oh, sure!" The technician hurriedly handed him the photo.
Tong Airui glanced at the photo and smiled adoringly, "You little rascal, can’t you at least give us a peek? Look at how you scared your mom!"
"Go show it to Dad and Mom." Yi Luowa urged him.
Tong Airui chuckled and walked out the door.
Tong Yao saw her son come out and quickly asked, "How are the babies?"
"They’re healthy."
"Boys or girls?" Long Che walked over.
Tong Airui held up the photo and pointed at the two tiny figures on it, "This one’s a boy, and this one won’t show us their front."
Long Che burst into laughter, "That one’s definitely a girl! She’s hiding her front because she’s shy!"
Yi Luowa peeked through the gap in the door to observe the situation outside. Only when she saw Long Che laughing did she slowly walk out.
"Dad says the little one’s shy," Tong Airui said with a grin.
Yi Luowa smiled lightly, "Let’s head home. I made something delicious for Mom and Dad."
"What did you make? Did you make it yourself?" Long Che asked with a smile.
Yi Luowa scratched the back of her head and laughed awkwardly, "An ugly cake. But it actually tastes pretty good. I... I really tried my best."
"Then we have to try it." Long Che said with a laugh, "Last time we picked names for girls. This time, let’s discuss a name for the boy when we get home."
Yi Luowa nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, once we’ve picked both names, let everyone vote on them."
The family laughed and chatted as they headed back home. Yi Luowa took out her ugly cake.
Long Che and Tong Yao almost burst out laughing when they saw the cake.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips, "I knew you’d have that reaction!"
"If you knew, why didn’t you try harder?" Long Che wasn’t big on sweets, but since his daughter-in-law made it, he took a bite to show appreciation. "It actually tastes quite good."
Tong Yao also tried a bite and said, "The flavor’s good. Clearly, you used all the right ingredients. Luowa, do you know why the cake turned out looking like this?"
Yi Luowa pouted, "I’m waiting for you to tell me why the cake turned out this way."
"The heat was too high..."
Long Che watched his wife teaching their daughter-in-law cake-making and gave his son a knowing look. The father and son slipped into the study one after the other.
Inside the study, Long Che chuckled as he said, "I heard your uncles haven’t been fishing lately?"
Tong Airui nodded, "That’s right. I hadn’t mentioned this to you yet, but I was planning to show you the results once it was all done. Since you’re asking, I’ll fill you in now."
Long Che laughed heartily, "Your third uncle already told me. Kid, you’re not bad! You’ve got more determination than your old man!"
"Dad, I bet if you weren’t trying to give me a good reputation, you would’ve done this ten years ago."
Long Che widened his eyes, "Who told you that?"
Tong Airui grinned, "Your daughter-in-law said so. To be honest, I have to admit she’s more forward-thinking than I am. The idea was hers, and the money was hers too."
"Regardless of whose idea it was between the two of you, I’m completely confident in handing the House Soldiers over to you!" Long Che clapped his son’s shoulder firmly. "Luowa is a smart, loyal, and resourceful person. You better treat her well."
"I will!" Tong Airui nodded with a smile.
Long Che furrowed his brows slightly, "Rui’er, I have a not-so-great feeling..."
Tong Airui froze, "Dad, what are you trying to say?"
Long Che paused for a moment and then said gravely, "I keep feeling that Luowa isn’t from an ordinary family. She has sharp political instincts and handles matters with the big-picture mindset of someone in power."
"Dad, you might be overthinking it. Luowa was swapped at birth and never spent a day with her biological parents. She wouldn’t have learned any of that from them." Tong Airui shook his head. "The hospital she was born in was quite basic. If she were from a prominent family, I doubt she’d have been born there."
