Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 448 - 389: I Don’t Feel Sorry for Him at All! (First Update)_2
After everyone sat down, Yi Luowa held Yan Zi’s hand and said with a smile, "Auntie, thank goodness for You taking care of me these past few days. You has been so well-behaved lately!"
Yan Zi glanced at You and replied with a smile, "You didn’t leave for many days this time, but I see quite a bit of change after she came back. It seems she’s made more progress by your side than with me. Luowa, I heard from You that you weren’t feeling well a few days ago. How are you now? Feeling better?"
Yi Luowa nodded with a smile, "If I wasn’t feeling better, I wouldn’t have dared come back. I wouldn’t want everyone worrying about me for nothing."
Yan Zi shot a disapproving glance at Tong Airui, "You two really have a knack for keeping secrets! Don’t keep things from us in the future. After all, we’ve lived a few more years and have some experience."
"Auntie, I promise this will be the last time!" Tong Airui agreed wholeheartedly.
Long Che heard a noise from outside and pushed the door open to come out.
Yan Zi said with a smile, "Brother, congratulations! You’re finally going to be a grandfather!"
Long Che’s smile grew several times wider, "Luowa is the hero of this family! Yan Zi, I asked you to call Ning Mingxi, did you call her?"
Yan Zi glanced sheepishly at her sister-in-law and said with a smile, "Not yet. I hurried over to see Luowa..."
Long Che interrupted his sister unhappily, "Call her now."
"Kaikai and Shanshan can’t tell her? Why are you making Yan Zi act as the messenger?" Tong Yao frowned, snatching the paper from his hand. "The names are already decided?"
"Yes. After you read through them, show them to Luowa." His wife’s interruption stopped Long Che from continuing.
Tong Yao skimmed the paper and handed it to Yi Luowa.
"Zhong Yuan, Xiang Yi, Yi Cheng, Yan Yu, Meng Li, Lin Han... There are so many. I think they’re all quite good." Yi Luowa tilted her head to look at Tong Airui. "Husband, which one do you think sounds best?"
Tong Airui chuckled and ruffled her hair, "If you can’t decide, let’s wait until everyone in the family is here and take a vote."
"Sounds good to me!" Yi Luowa smiled as she folded the paper and put it into her pocket. "Dad, I’ll keep this paper for now and ask everyone their opinions later."
Long Che responded with a smile and a nod.
Soon enough, Tong Jiaqi and the others arrived.
Jimo Shanshan’s belly already had some noticeable changes. Yi Luowa looked at her stomach curiously and remarked with a smile, "Shanshan, I’ve only been away for a few days, and now your baby bump is showing."
"Yours will be soon. Around the three-month mark, the growth speeds up." Jimo Shanshan smiled and gently stroked her belly. "Fourth Sister-in-law, I’m going to the hospital tomorrow for a visit—why don’t you come along? I’ll ask them to give you a thorough check-up too."
"Sure, I’ll go with you."
The next day, Tong Airui accompanied Yi Luowa to the hospital with Jimo Shanshan. As soon as they entered the hospital lobby, Yi Luowa started gagging.
Tong Airui was alarmed, "Honey, what’s wrong?"
Jimo Shanshan shook her head helplessly, "She probably can’t stand the smell of disinfectants."
Yi Luowa nodded quickly and hurried outside, afraid she might throw up.
Tong Airui rushed after her.
Yi Luowa covered her nose and said, "Husband, I can’t stand the smell here... ugh..."
"Then we won’t stay here." Tong Airui bent down and picked her up.
In the car, Yi Luowa leaned motionlessly against the seat. "Let me rest for a while before I go back in."
Tong Airui shook his head. "Don’t go back in. Look how uncomfortable you are."
"But if I don’t go in, I won’t get examined. I want to know if the baby is healthy."
"Our baby will definitely be fine!" Tong Airui pulled her into his arms. "Let’s go home."
Yi Luowa weakly leaned against his chest, "Let Shanshan know."
"Okay." Tong Airui pulled out his phone to call Jimo Shanshan.
Once Tong Airui ended the call, Yuan Hang drove the car out of the hospital at 40 kilometers per hour.
After the hospital visit, not only did Yi Luowa not get her check-up, but she ended up feeling sick. Now, she couldn’t tolerate even the slightest smells.
To avoid disrupting the household routine, Yi Luowa decided to stay in her bedroom, spending her days curled up alone.
As she idly flipped through her pregnancy guidebook in bed, Tong Yao pushed the door open and walked in.
"Mom..." Yi Luowa lifted the covers, intending to get out of bed.
Tong Yao quickly pressed her back down. "Don’t get up yet. Your aunt and I bought you a few maternity outfits earlier. I asked the servants to wash them first in case there’s any smell you can’t stand."
"Thanks, Mom." Yi Luowa rubbed her head helplessly. "Mom, I think I’m just someone who doesn’t handle pampering well. I was fine in the backyard, but now that I’m home and everyone’s fussing over me, I’ve somehow gotten worse."
Tong Yao sat down at the bedside and patted her hand. "Don’t talk nonsense—you’re just at the stage where these symptoms are normal. Once it passes, you’ll be fine."
Yi Luowa pouted slightly. "Mom, back when you were pregnant with three at once, it must have been so hard. Tong Airui saw me like this today and kept telling me how much trouble he and his siblings put you through."
"Ah... I don’t even know how I got through it." Tong Yao chuckled lightly. "No matter how tough it was, seeing them all grow up and become accomplished, I no longer think about the hardships."
"You never understand a parent’s love until you have children of your own." Yi Luowa hugged Tong Yao’s shoulders and said with a cheerful smile, "Mom, Tong Airui and I will make sure to take good care of you."
Tong Yao smiled affectionately, patting her on the head. "I know you two are good kids. I don’t ask for much—to live quietly and happily and raise your children is the best gift you could give me."
"Yaoyao, the in-laws are here." Jing Ya walked in, calling out softly.
Tong Yao didn’t immediately catch on. When Yi Weiyang entered the room, she burst into laughter. "I’ve got so many in-laws now. I didn’t catch right away which one was visiting. Turns out it’s my dear in-law! Come, have a seat!"
Yi Luowa saw her second uncle’s smiling face and nearly burst into tears, her lips trembling. "Second Uncle, why are you here?!"
"Your second uncle didn’t sleep all night yesterday. If he hadn’t had meetings today, he would’ve come this morning!" Huo Li spoke up even before she entered the room.
Yi Luowa reached for her second uncle’s hand and held it tightly. Glancing toward the door, she asked, "Why isn’t Huo Li coming in?"
"She sprayed on perfume and didn’t want to trigger your nausea." Yi Weiyang looked at her lovingly. "Are you still feeling unwell?"
"Not anymore." Yi Luowa shook her head with a smile, then called to Huo Li outside the door, "Go to my old bedroom and change into my clothes. I really can’t handle the smell of perfume."
"OK. I’ll just take a shower—it’ll be a complete fix." Huo Li laughed.
Yi Luowa shouted after her, "Don’t use any body wash."
"Little ancestor, you sure are particular!" Huo Li said as she trotted upstairs.
Tong Yao and Jing Ya sat with Yi Weiyang, while Yi Luowa leaned against the headboard, grinning goofily at her second uncle.
"You silly girl, what’s so funny!" Yi Weiyang scolded her playfully.
"Second Uncle, I’m laughing because you’re looking younger and younger!"
"Don’t be ridiculous! I haven’t even chastised you yet. Pregnancy is such a big deal, why didn’t you tell me sooner?" Yi Weiyang sounded frustrated as he brought this up.
Yi Luowa pouted. "Back then, it wasn’t stable yet. We didn’t even know if the baby could be kept, so I didn’t want everyone worrying unnecessarily—I didn’t tell anyone."
Tong Yao quickly stepped in to defend her daughter-in-law. "Her dad and I only found out a few hours before you, and it wasn’t even because they told us—it was because we overheard them talking. These two really came up with some harebrained plans!"
Yi Weiyang sighed helplessly and shook his head. "Children grow up and stop listening to their parents, huh!"
