Chapter 417: Chapter 367: Stop Dilly-dallying! (Sixth Release)

"Nine months?!" Lady Jing Ya looked at Jimo Shanshan excitedly. "Shanshan, are you pregnant?!"

"It’s still too early to tell. I haven’t confirmed it yet, but, um..." Jimo Shanshan noticed everyone was eating and quickly stopped herself.

"This is wonderful!" Lady Jing Ya laughed. "Your grandparents would be even happier than I am if they found out!"

"Grandma, let’s not tell them just yet. If it’s not true, it might disappoint everyone," Jimo Shanshan smiled and said softly. "On the way here, I told Seventh Brother not to mention it, but he went ahead and spilled the beans anyway."

Tong Yao chuckled. "That’s the right move. If your mom knew, with her personality, she’d rush over here in a fit of excitement."

As everyone talked and laughed, Long Che silently got up and left the dining hall.

Tong Airui picked up a napkin from the table, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it straight at Maize Kai’s face. "Why are you making such pointless comments about something uncertain?"

Maize Kai pouted and said, "I’m a doctor. If I say it’s there, it’s there. What’s ’uncertain’ about it? Just wait five days, and I’ll bring you the test results."

Tong Airui snorted, "The child isn’t even mine. Why would I care about the test results?"

"You’re just jealous," Maize Kai said smugly, giving him a side glance.

Tong Airui was about to retort when Yi Luowa quickly grabbed his arm. "He already eats slowly as it is, don’t provoke him."

Tong Airui said grumpily, "He does everything slowly, except for this—he’s quite proactive."

Maize Kai inhaled deeply through his nose. "Do you all smell that sourness in the air?"

Jimo Shanshan smiled lightly and bumped his arm. "Stop talking, eat your food."

Lady Jing Ya grinned lovingly. "You all are just like when you were kids—always teasing each other when together and missing each other when apart."

"Forever little kids!" Tong Yao smiled and picked up her chopsticks. "Shanshan, if you want to eat something specific in the future, just tell me or your grandma. I’ll have someone prepare it for you."

"Thank you, Auntie."

"We’re family, no need for thanks!" Tong Yao smiled softly. "You’re all still children in my eyes. Now, before we know it, you’re having children of your own."

"Hehe... Yaoyao Auntie, Aunt Yan Zi ate all the food again." As Tong Yao was reflecting, Youyou giggled as she came running in. Seeing two new faces at the table, she greeted them cheerfully, "Hello, Seventh Brother! Hello, Seventh Sister-in-law!"

Maize Kai looked at Youyou and chuckled. "Whenever you act normal, I get nervous. I think you’re better as your usual self."

"What do you all want from me anyway?" Youyou pouted.

"Don’t listen to him. You’re perfect just as you are now," Yi Luowa said, pulling Youyou down to sit next to her. "Youyou’s nothing short of amazing—it takes skill to get your Aunt to eat."

Youyou puffed out her chest proudly. "I hand-fed her every bite."

"Yan Zi sure is lucky." Tong Yao chuckled and then turned her head toward Yi Luowa. "Luowa, which day did your Uncle choose out of the ones I gave him?"

"He chose August 28th, and then on September 1st, Tong Airui and I will go to Shen Ying." Yi Luowa smiled lightly. "I can’t wait for that day—it makes me so excited just thinking about it."

"It’s coming up soon. You should start preparing for your trip to S Country," Tong Yao said as she glanced at Youyou eating.

Yi Luowa also looked at Youyou. "Youyou, want to come with me to S Country for some fun?"

Youyou tilted her head and asked, "Is it fun there?"

"Of course! Ai Ni Sis, You Jia Brother, they’re both there. Oh, and two super cute little brothers—they’ll keep you company."

"Then I’ll ask Aunt Yan Zi later. If she lets me go, I’ll go." Youyou hesitated for a moment. "If I leave, what if Mi Chenxuan suddenly comes back and doesn’t find me?"

Tong Airui said firmly, "This time, let Eighth Brother accompany you to S Country. Stay there for two or three days, then come back."

Yi Luowa shot him a suspicious look and immediately understood. The Blue family’s matter and the issue with Haotian weren’t resolved yet—he needed to stay here to keep an eye on things.

"Is Mi Chenxuan coming back?" Youyou perked up with a smile.

"In three days."

Yi Luowa calculated silently. Three days later, they’d only be able to stay in S Country for three days.

"Luowa, you’ll have to wait three more days to leave. In the meantime, why don’t you go visit your Uncle at the manor? There’s not much going on at home."

"Okay."

After dinner, everyone chatted for a while, and Yi Luowa followed Tong Airui back to their room.

As soon as they entered, Tong Airui switched to his nagging mode.

"I can’t go with you to your Uncle’s tomorrow, so don’t stay overnight there, got it?"

"Okay!"

"The trip to S Country—two nights, three days—and that includes the travel time."

"Okay!"

"When you’re there, don’t wander around. It’s not safe right now."

"Okay."

"No, this isn’t working. Just Eighth Brother alone doesn’t make me comfortable."

"Okay!"

Tong Airui frowned slightly. "Yi Luowa, what’s with all the ’okay’s?"

"Huh? Oh... um..."

Before long, she was pressed down onto the bed. Yi Luowa pouted and looked up at him. "What’s gotten into you again? You even bit my lip earlier—it hurts."

Tong Airui frowned and said, "The moment you’re not in front of me, I can’t stop worrying. You haven’t even left yet, and I’m already missing you. What am I supposed to do?"

"I’ll hurry back," Yi Luowa said softly as she reached up to smooth the crease on his brow.

"No, I need to call and check on Haotian’s situation. If nothing happens, I’ll go to S Country with you."

Tong Airui climbed off Yi Luowa and grabbed the phone to call Yuan Hang.

Yi Luowa rested her head against his thigh, listening to him talk to Yuan Hang.

"Yuan Hang, what did Emperor Haotian say after reviewing those documents?"

"Nothing much. All he said was: ’Send people to the island immediately and bring Kai Di back to the country!’"

"Let me know no matter when you hear anything."

"Got it."

Tong Airui hung up the phone and rubbed Yi Luowa’s head. "Looks like we’ll get Emperor Haotian’s decision soon. Let’s hope it doesn’t escalate."

"My instincts say it won’t escalate."

"Then do your instincts tell you what I’m about to do next?"

"Whatever it is you love doing!" Yi Luowa giggled.

"Smart girl!" Tong Airui reached out to unbutton Yi Luowa’s shirt, but he didn’t get far before the phone rang.

Tong Airui glanced at the phone. "Why’s Fifth Brother calling at this hour?"

"Pick up," Yi Luowa suggested, smiling as she burrowed into the blankets.

Tong Airui accepted the call, undressing as he asked, "Ai Nuo, what’s going on?"

"Who’s pissed off Dad again?"

"What’s wrong?" Tong Airui stripped completely, lifted the blanket, and slipped inside.

"Dad called me just now, yelled at me about this and that, then dropped this bombshell: ’Come home soon and give me a grandson.’ What does that even mean?"

Tong Airui burst into laughter. "You know who you need to blame—Seventh Brother came over tonight all smug, boasting about Shanshan being pregnant. Whether it’s true or not, we still don’t know! But I could tell Dad was upset by then."

"Seriously? He picked someone far across the ocean to scold and didn’t even give seventh any grief?"

"Quit whining! Hurry back home. Uncle’s been working overtime without a break till now. Don’t you feel bad?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Tong Airui didn’t wait for Tong Aino to respond and hung up the phone.
