Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 352 - 314: Go Ahead and Be Sarcastic! (First Update)
"Miss Yi..."
"Mrs. Audrey!" Tong Airui frowned and walked over.
The older man smiled apologetically, "Sorry, it was my mistake. Duke Airui, hello."
"Prime Minister Qin Sen, hello." Tong Airui shook hands with him courteously, then, as if declaring ownership, he gently wrapped his arm around Yi Luowa. "My wife, Luowa Audrey."
"Mrs. Audrey, hello! I am Qin Sen, the Prime Minister of Beidi. The Beidi King and Queen have long wanted to thank you in person, but the Queen’s health does not permit her to travel long distances. The matter of expressing gratitude has been postponed time and again."
Yi Luowa smiled, "The Beidi King is too kind; I didn’t do anything significant. Any person with a conscience would lend a helping hand." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"What you call a trivial matter, the Queen has always kept in mind." Qin Sen smiled and accepted a gift box from his subordinate. "The Queen said, knowing you would be here, she asked me to deliver this to you."
"This..." Yi Luowa hesitated and didn’t reach out to take it.
"The Queen insists that you must accept it." Qin Sen held the gift box closer to Yi Luowa. "It’s nothing valuable. She said Princess Yina has always caused you trouble, and this is simply a token of gratitude."
"Since it’s nothing valuable, I’ll accept it then." Yi Luowa smiled and took the box.
"Princess Yina loves lively gatherings. Why didn’t she come along?" Qin Sen inquired further.
Yi Luowa froze for a moment and then smiled, "She’s busy with work and couldn’t get away."
Qin Sen smiled silently.
Yi Luowa’s smile stiffened slightly. She hadn’t been truthful just now. The day before they departed, Joyina was still torn about whether to accompany them to S Country. In the end, she decided not to come. She said she was afraid of encountering people from Beidi, afraid they would bring up her mother, and that she would be unable to resist the urge to return. She also said that she would establish a successful career first before going back, determined to make her father see her in a new light.
Having completed his task, Qin Sen bid farewell to Yi Luowa and Tong Airui before turning to leave.
He had observed all of Yi Luowa’s reactions. It seemed Princess Yina would not be returning to Beidi anytime soon.
As Qin Sen pondered this, someone walked towards him—a man who appeared to be in his fifties or sixties. As he approached Qin Sen, he extended his hand warmly, "Prime Minister Qin Sen, hello!"
"Hello!" Even though he didn’t recognize the man, Qin Sen maintained his polite demeanor.
The man smiled and said, "Just now, you were speaking with Duke Airui and his wife, weren’t you?"
Qin Sen smiled and nodded.
The man chuckled, "I’ll go greet them as well."
Qin Sen gave a polite nod, and after the man walked away, he quietly asked his subordinate, "Who was that?"
The subordinate shook his head, "Doesn’t ring a bell."
Qin Sen glanced back at Tong Airui and Yi Luowa. The two still stood in place, chatting and laughing, but the earlier stranger was nowhere to be seen.
After hesitating briefly, Qin Sen turned and left with his subordinate.
After lunch, the guests gradually departed from the palace. Yi Luowa had mentioned wanting to join in the wedding festivities, but when it came to the actual event, she was instead keeping Ni Lu company.
With the coronation ceremony finishing tomorrow, they would need to leave soon, and Yi Luowa felt somewhat uneasy about Ni Lu.
Ni Lu’s emotions had become much steadier compared to the previous day. However, upon hearing that Yi Luowa was leaving, tears instantly rolled down her cheeks. "Can’t you stay a few more days?"
Yi Luowa looked at Ni Lu with great concern. "Mom, I only took two days off, and I extended it slightly by overlapping with the weekend."
At the time, she had no idea such events would unfold. Had she known, she would have certainly requested additional leave.
Ni Lu sniffled, "We’ve only just reunited, and now you’re leaving..."
Yi Luowa hugged Ni Lu’s shoulders and smiled, "Mom, I’ll visit you every time I have a vacation."
"Who knows when your next vacation will be." Ni Lu said, tears flowing again.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips, "Seeing you cry like this makes me want to cry too. My mother-in-law always said you were a strong, independent woman who gave business negotiations your all, even when you were heavily pregnant. But from what I see, you’re just a little crybaby."
"I am a little crybaby!" Ni Lu said sheepishly, wiping her tears with her hand, "Don’t make fun of me, remember, I’m your mom!"
"Of course, of course! I won’t make fun of you; you’re my mom after all." Yi Luowa laughed and hugged Ni Lu tightly.
Ni Lu said regretfully, "If I hadn’t been so dedicated to my work back then, I wouldn’t have lost you."
"Mom, let’s not talk about that anymore."
Ni Lu shook her head, "Sigh... I really don’t know what I was thinking back then! I was so obsessed with making money that I ended up losing my daughter for so many years. You have no idea how terrified I was when I gave birth to you—I was afraid that if anything happened to you, I wouldn’t be able to face your father."
