Chapter 309: Chapter 282: A Family of Villains (Second Update)

The phones produced by Zhuoyuan really are of excellent quality. Even after being thrown so far by Connie, it didn’t affect its normal functionality. Hearing the sounds coming through from it, Connie just wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole.

Tong Aino reluctantly stood up and bent down to pick up the phone.

"Don’t look!" Connie shouted, her face turning red.

Tong Aino feigned ignorance and said, "I’m really curious now. What did you see that scared you so much?"

Seeing him lower his gaze toward the phone, Connie quickly ran over and snatched it back, pressing the power button to turn it off.

Tong Aino looked at her with amusement. "What’s there to be embarrassed about? You really shouldn’t have attended an all-girls school..."

"Stop talking! Just stop talking!" Connie’s face was growing increasingly red. This sort of thing was something she had never encountered before, and she was struggling to process it.

With a chuckle, Tong Aino pulled her into his arms. "Alright, I’ll stop."

Connie pushed against him with all her strength. "Can you please just go out?"

"If I go out, you’ll only let your imagination run wild. I could stay here and chat with you, or we can watch something on TV." Tong Aino held her while sitting down, grabbed the remote, and turned on the TV.

Connie was completely out of it, her heartbeat racing, and her eyes darting around nervously. To make matters worse, what was now showing on TV was exactly the kind of thing she had just seen.

Embarrassed beyond words, Connie buried her head into Tong Aino’s chest.

Amused, Tong Aino patted her head. "I’ll change the channel!"

He truly intended to switch the channel, but every single channel was showing the same program.

Hearing the sound, Connie peeked with one eye. She had been in Xiayu for quite a while now and had watched plenty of TV, but she had never seen this type of content before.

Tong Aino tried flipping through a few more channels, but it was all the same storyline.

Tong Aino’s breathing grew heavier as he lowered his gaze to the girl curled up in his arms.

Connie looked up at him like a startled fawn, her big, innocent eyes blinking at Tong Aino.

His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly before he lowered himself and kissed her lips...

Yi Luowa was sitting on the couch, tilting her head to look at Tong Airui, who was fiddling with his computer.

"Did they watch TV?"

Tong Airui chuckled and nodded. "They did. Just now, they flipped through several channels but stopped after a bit."

Yi Luowa glanced at the monitor and pursed her lips with a sly grin. "You’re so mean!"

"If we don’t give them a little push, they’ll just keep wandering in circles." Tong Airui shut his laptop and turned to her. "By the way, don’t you think it’s about time for us to rest too?"

Yi Luowa’s face lit up with a mischievous smile as she nodded.

Ten minutes later, both Tong Airui and Tong Aino left their respective rooms at almost the exact same time.

The two brothers glanced at each other and then, like withered eggplants after a frost, trudged dejectedly downstairs.

Hearing Tong Airui’s footsteps grow distant, Yi Luowa clutched her stomach and burst into laughter. "Hahaha..."

She cheerfully skipped into the bathroom, adjusted her hair that Tong Airui had just messed up, and was about to leave when Tong Airui stormed back in, puffed up with annoyance.

"What’s your deal?!" Yi Luowa stared at him, baffled, as he dragged her back into the bathroom.

Tong Airui fixed his gaze on her. "You little liar. You almost fooled me back there. You got your period during the car race last week, and you thought I wouldn’t remember? Do you take me for an idiot?"

"You *are* an idiot!" Yi Luowa laughed and shoved him away before hopping merrily out of the room.

"Just you wait! Tonight, I’m going to teach you a lesson!" Tong Airui narrowed his eyes dangerously.

"Tonight, I’m sleeping with Ai Ni." Yi Luowa turned back, sticking out her tongue at him.

Tong Airui was so furious that he stomped his foot, ready to chase after her, but as if she had predicted his move, she had already dashed off before he could even step out of the bathroom.

Yi Luowa clasped her hands behind her back and peered downstairs, immediately noticing Tong Aino sitting on the couch. Wasn’t he supposed to still be in Connie’s room?

She tilted her head and glanced at Connie’s door, debating whether or not she should go snoop. But before she could decide, Tong Airui came chasing after her.

That was that—no time for hesitation! She bolted, shouting as she ran, "Connie, save me!"

Her voice arrived first, closely followed by her figure.

Connie saw her running in and quickly tidied up her clothes, standing up nervously.

"What happened?"

"Tong Airui wants to hit me!" Yi Luowa initially tried to act scared, but after glancing at Connie’s current state, she couldn’t keep her composure and burst into laughter. "Pfft. Connie, hahaha..."

Connie adjusted her clothes hurriedly. "Stop making things up! There’s nothing happening between us!"

Yi Luowa looked skeptical.

Connie pointed toward the bed. "If you don’t believe me, look—it hasn’t even been touched."

Stifling her laughter, Yi Luowa said, "Oh, come on. You don’t have to be on the bed, you know."

Instinctively, Connie’s eyes flicked to the couch. Just now, right there—they had almost gone too far. If she hadn’t burst into tears out of panic, Tong Aino definitely wouldn’t have let her off the hook.

Following her gaze, Yi Luowa glanced at the couch and snickered. "Alright, alright, I believe you. Hurry and change your clothes. If Ai Ni sees you like this, she’ll never let it go."

Seeing that Yi Luowa finally believed her, Connie gratefully ran off to grab some clothes.

Yi Luowa clasped her hands behind her back and followed. "See how good I am to you? From now on, you’re not allowed to laugh at me. In this family, everyone else has the surname Aldrich. Only you and I have different last names. If the two of us don’t stick together, we won’t survive in this house. Got it?"

Connie nodded repeatedly.

"Good student!" Yi Luowa patted her on the shoulder in a mock scholarly manner. "I’ll wait for you. Hurry up and get changed, and then we’ll head down together."

Connie took her clothes into the dressing room, while Yi Luowa happily strolled around the room, feeling smug. She was determined to stay here just to see how Tong Airui would manage to deal with her.

While basking in self-satisfaction, Ai Ni popped her head through the door. "Sis, the cake’s done! Why aren’t you and Connie downstairs yet?"

Yi Luowa grinned conspiratorially and pointed at the dressing room door. "Connie’s clothes got ripped by our fifth brother, so she’s changing now. I’m waiting for her."

Ai Ni’s curiosity was piqued, and she leaned in closer. "Really?"

"Mhm!" Yi Luowa nodded firmly.

"Looks like what I said earlier really worked, hahaha..."

Yi Luowa squinted at her suspiciously. "What exactly did you say?"

Ai Ni leaned in to whisper what she had said to their fifth brother earlier.

Yi Luowa shot her an incredulous look. "Ai Ni, you’re so wicked! Hahaha...but I like it!"

Yi Luowa wiped her brow in mock disbelief. With everyone in this family being so devious, poor Connie—the little clueless bunny—surely wouldn’t have much longer to stay uneaten!
