Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 270 - 256: The Young Rich Lady (Third Update)
The master of ceremonies glanced at the gift list and, after a slight pause, loudly announced, "Mr. Yi is gifting the newlyweds 30% of the shares in PCW International Group as a wedding present."
The crowd erupted instantly, and the elders on the stage exchanged uncertain glances.
Yi Luowa stared at her second uncle in shock. What was he trying to do?
Tong Airui also looked up at Yi Weiyang. The PCW Group was no longer what it used to be. It had acquired both the Yi Corporation and Kai Bin Group. The 30% of its shares, if liquidated, would be worth at least 20 billion.
Seeing Yi Weiyang’s affectionate smile, Tong Airui instantly understood his intentions. Luowa lacked a noble family background, and her second uncle wanted to silence public criticism with money, while also securing her position in the Alderich family.
Yi Luowa was just about to speak when Yi Weiyang bent down, helped her up, and gently shook his head, signaling for her not to speak in such a setting.
"Huo Li also has a gift for you," Yi Weiyang said with a smile, looking at the servant standing next to him.
The servant handed a pink note to the master of ceremonies, who picked up the microphone and read aloud: "Dear Piggy Bao, today is your big day. As your best sister, even though I can’t witness it in person, my heart is always with you. Ever since we were young, we’ve shared blessings and burdens together. I’m currently suffocating under the weight of money, so I’ve decided to let you help me out by giving you 50% of my shares in Uncle’s company. No refusals allowed! If you dare to refuse, I’ll take a page out of your ancients’ playbook and sever ties with you!"
As soon as the master of ceremonies finished reading, the stage and the audience burst into laughter.
Yi Luowa sniffled. Even Huo Li was so generous. However, she was adamant that she wouldn’t accept either her second uncle’s or Huo Li’s shares.
Resolving herself to follow her second uncle’s hint, Yi Luowa didn’t reject the gift on the spot but went along with Tong Airui to serve tea to King Muta and the other relatives present.
King Muta’s gift was not small either, as he directly gave Yi Luowa two estates.
Meanwhile, along with transferring one billion and ten billion back and forth, Long Che and Tong Yao gifted Yi Luowa 10% of Zhuoyuan Group’s shares each. Together, Tong Airui and Yi Luowa now held 20% of Zhuoyuan Group’s shares as a couple.
Prince Charles and Lady Jing Ya were just as generous, offering ten chests of jewelry, five luxury villas, and an additional one billion in cash.
Teng Tianxiang gifted five villas in different countries and added another billion for Yi Luowa.
Although Tong Jiaqi wasn’t as wealthy, having received no small contribution over the years from Tong Yao and Long Che, he presented the couple with a property in Xiawu and ten million in cash for their two children.
Yan Zi wasn’t to be outdone and gifted not only a large cash sum but also 10% ownership in MZ Pictures.
Ning Mingxi certainly wouldn’t lag behind either, giving a large sum of cash and a luxury property in Xiawu. In her words, it was all just money Long Che had given her anyway, so she had to make an impression with it.
The master of ceremonies then proceeded down the gift list, announcing gifts from Lance, Little Raindrop, Mi Chenshuo, Tong Aino, Connie, Teng Aini, You Jia, Mike Dekai, and Mi Chenxuan, as well as their siblings.
By the end of this round, the attendees below the stage were starting to feel uneasy, with some even regretting how insufficient their own gifts seemed in comparison.
But this wasn’t the end. Next came gifts from the ambassadors representing various countries in Xiawu.
After this wave, it was the royal family’s turn to present their gifts. Although Ni Lu couldn’t attend in person, she too sent a grand present.
By this point, Yi Luowa could no longer remember who had given what. However, some sharp-minded individuals roughly calculated on her behalf: in just one hour, Yi Luowa’s newly accumulated wealth had risen to nearly seventy billion.
In Xiawu, aside from Zhuoyuan and PCW, she was now the third wealthiest individual. Who cared if she wasn’t born into royalty or aristocracy? The Alderich family had given her a noble status and wealth that others could only dream of.
As the crowd continued to marvel at Yi Luowa’s good fortune, an announcement from the doorway reverberated through the hall: "Duke Teng Qian and Princess Angelina have arrived—Duke Teng Kailun and Princess Wei Yuhan have arrived—"
Tong Yao breathed a long sigh of relief upon hearing the announcement. Last night, her brother and sister-in-law’s plane had been forced to make an emergency landing due to bad weather. They’d been out of contact all morning, but thankfully they’d arrived safely.
"It’s Uncle and Aunt!" Tong Airui said indulgently to the dazed Yi Luowa.
Yi Luowa blinked, finally snapping out of her reverie, and walked hand in hand with Tong Airui to welcome them.
"Just in time," Teng Qian said with an apologetic smile as he looked at the two. "Airui, Luowa, congratulations!"
"Thank you, Uncle!" Yi Luowa replied sweetly with a smile.
Teng Kailun stepped forward and gave Tong Airui a hearty clap on the shoulder. "A happy man indeed, looking so radiant you’re almost blinding me, nephew!"
Tong Airui chuckled and escorted his two uncles and aunts inside.
When Teng Tianxiang saw his son and daughter-in-law had arrived, his previously tense face finally softened into a smile.
After greeting everyone, Teng Qian approached Teng Tianxiang and quietly asked, "Dad, did you give our gift for Luowa and Rui’er on our behalf?"
Teng Tianxiang shot a glare at his eldest son. "Of course not! I knew you’d make it in time. If you hadn’t shown up today, I’d break your legs when we got home!"
With no other choice, Teng Qian smiled helplessly and, along with Teng Kailun, personally handed their gift lists to the master of ceremonies.
The two uncles were astoundingly generous, gifting the young couple 5% of their personal shares each, along with five extravagant villas apiece.
The four Teng family cousins also instructed their fathers to bring additional gifts for their elder cousin and his wife.
Extravagance upon extravagance—thus the birth of a new little billionaire.
All the attendees could do was marvel with unabashed envy. This was simply a blessing none could contend with; it was all thanks to having an abundance of generous relatives.
At 12:30 sharp, the palace banquet commenced in the grand hall.
After lunch, it was time for the ball. Amid applause, Tong Airui and Yi Luowa opened the dance.
The two dazzling figures glided elegantly across the dance floor, their vibrant outfits accentuating their striking features, heralding a brilliant and prosperous future.
As the music ended, Tong Airui guided Yi Luowa to a quieter corner where they could rest.
"Just hold on a little longer, and then we can finally go home," he whispered.
Yi Luowa watched the young couples twirling on the dance floor and asked curiously, "Didn’t King Muta say this banquet would last until evening?"
"King Muta has a hobby of hosting several such palace banquets every year to help young people find connections. Haven’t you heard him say that the royal garden has witnessed countless fairy tales?"
"So, what does that mean?" Yi Luowa probed, staring into his eyes.
"It means this part is for the young singles. It has nothing to do with us anymore."
"Just because we’re no longer single?" Yi Luowa teased with a playful smile.
"Exactly. We’re taken now." Tong Airui smiled and squeezed her hand. "Wife, now you can finally rest easy, right? We’re legally married now. Second Uncle will no longer scold you."
Yi Luowa gazed at him, her expression serious. "So all of this was because of a complaint I made that day?"
"Yes. I won’t let you follow me without status or title. Whatever others have, you’ll have, too. And what others don’t have, I’ll give you as well. I still owe you a wedding, and once you graduate, we’ll have an official ceremony."
"Thank you, Shi Ge!"
"Still calling me ’Shi Ge’?"
"Hehe... Give me some time to adjust. I can’t say it just yet."
Tong Airui affectionately pinched her nose. "You better call me tonight."
Yi Luowa blushed, lowering her voice to ask, "Aini handed me the marriage certificate earlier. I took a quick look, and... how am I suddenly twenty years old now?"
"If you weren’t listed as twenty, how could we have gotten the certificate? Luckily, your registration is in Z Country. I had Young Master Kang help me adjust it."
"But my age on my passport and ID doesn’t match. How can I compete in car races abroad?"
"Always thinking about your racing!" Tong Airui snorted in mild dissatisfaction. "Once your Z Country ID was done, I had new IDs and a passport made for you here in Xiawu, along with changing your last name."
"Changed my last name? So now my name is Luowa Alderich?"
Tong Airui grinned and nodded.
Yi Luowa giggled foolishly. "I totally love this surname."
"And so do I!" They simultaneously pinched each other’s cheeks.
"I don’t know how to dance!" came Tong Aino’s impatient voice from not far away.
The girl who had invited him to dance pouted and walked away.
As the girl left, a gentleman approached Connie, bowing slightly. "Beautiful princess, would you give me the honor of a dance?"
Tong Aino shot him a glare. "Tang Liang, do you think you’re that handsome? Don’t put on airs in front of me! Whether or not the princess can dance, even if she could, she wouldn’t dance with you!"
Tang Liang quirked his lips in a slight smile. "Are you Connie’s spokesperson now?"
"I’m speaking on her behalf. What are you gonna do about it?" Tong Aino dropped his crossed leg and appeared ready for a fight.
Connie glanced at him and then said to Tang Liang, "Of course, I’d be honored!"
Tong Aino nearly fainted from sheer frustration. He grabbed her hand and pulled her up. "You’re my dance partner. If you’re dancing, it’ll only be with me."
"You’re at it again!" Connie frowned.
"It’s my brother and sister-in-law’s big day. Let’s not cause trouble for them," Tong Aino said, frowning as he pulled her onto the dance floor.
Just as things settled down there, Yi Luowa noticed Lan Ji approaching Mi Chenshuo.
She lightly tugged at Tong Airui’s sleeve. "Lan Ji is making a move on Third Brother!"
"Third Brother doesn’t like her. It won’t matter," Tong Airui replied confidently.
Lan Ji, dressed in a long moss-green gown, stood in front of Mi Chenshuo with a frosty expression. "Viscount Mi Chenshuo, may I have the honor of a dance?"
Mi Chenshuo looked at her coldly. "Did you leave your eyes at home? Can’t you see the dance partner sitting next to me?"
