Billionaire's Contracted & Unloved Wife-Chapter 228
"Put him down!" Jess ordered as she rushed into the room and saw Moon hugging Jace to herself.
"Ne quiet, Jess," Moon shushed.
"You!" Jess tried to move over to her, but Ken drew her into his arms.
"Calm down, Jess, we both can see that she is not hurting him... the boy is a little bit confused and needs someone to hold him, she's helping," Ken whispered beside her face.
Jess had a big frown on her face as she stared at Moon holding Jace as if she was one big saint.
"Mummy..." Jace whispered and slowly turned to look over at his mother.
Everyone was quiet.
They didn't know what to tell the little boy.
"Hi, Jace. I'm Moon, your mother's friend," Moon smiled down at the boy.
Jace stares at Moon; he doesn't recognize her, "She is," He points his weak hand to Jess.
"Yee, baby, I am," Jess went closer and held Jace's hand.
"Why is Mummy in a hospital bed? Are my twins sick?" Jace asked.
"Mummy is going to be alright, Jace, she's just a little tired and needs a little sleep," Moon whispered to Jace.
"Really," He looked up at her, hope shining in his eyes.
"Yes," Moon nodded.
Jace warmed everyone's heart by hugging Moon tightly; they'd never seen anyone express such a true relationship with her, and only someone as innocent and pure as Jace would trust Moon.
It was a refreshing sight to witness; Moon seemed to be really trying to change; the way she held and looked at the boy showed everyone that everyone does have good in them.
"I'll go get Aiden," Viktor quietly said, removing his eyes from Moon.
He didn't like that she was really trying to change; he wanted her to stay evil so that he could have reasons to hate her, but she was asking hard for him to hate her.
Ever since the day they kissed each other in his living room, Moon had made herself distant from him, only doing what she was supposed to do with Candy and minding her business, but damn, these last few days had been the most tempting for him.
He tried, he really tried, but he just found himself observing her every action and it only made him realize that those feelings he thought were dead and buried were never dead; they were still alive in vigor.
He was about to open the door when it was pushed from outside, and in came Aiden; his eyes immediately went to his son.
"Daddy," Jace called the moment he saw his father enter the room.
Aiden quickly walked over and hugged Jace, his whole arms engulfing the boy.
"How are you feeling, buddy?" He whispered, trying his best to hide his tears.
He was so relieved, he thought he'd lost his son.
"I'm fine, Daddy, but why do I have an IV in my hand? Am sick?" Jace questioned.
"Mummy has one too, But Moon said it's because Mummy is tired and resting. Was I tired and resting too?" Jace stared at his father, hoping for an answer.
Aiden glanced at Moon for the first time since he walked in, "Thank you," He said to her.
Moon smiled, nodding her head.
"It's alright, Jace, You're going to be alright, Mummy is going to be alright. Can you help me get Carla, please?" Aiden asked Moon.
"Sure," Moon nodded and stood from Jace's bed.
"Excuse me," Moon said politely to Viktor as she slid her body past him by the door.
He stared at her for a second longer before removing his eyes to catch Ken staring at him with suspicious eyes.
"You see, I told you he'd be fine," Jess went closer and placed a hand on Aiden's shoulder.
Aiden smiled slightly, he had to, for his son, "Yeah, he's alright," he chuckled.
"I want to hoover to Mummy," Jace said.
Aiden nodded, "I know, buddy, that's why I asked for Carla, she's gonna take this IV off your hand," He patted Jace's head.
"Did someone call my name?" Carla walked into the room, a bright smile on her face as she stared at Jace.
Jace smiled brightly too, "Yes, Daddy did," He pointed to his father.
"Oh? What was he talking about, young Doc?" She questioned, glancing at Aiden.
"He said you're going take the IV off so I can lay with Mummy," Jace raised his wrist that had the IV attached to it.
Carla chuckled, "Yes, I would, but after it's finished dropping, young Doc., but you can still go to Mummy, okay?" Carla quietly asked.
Jace hesitated for a second before nodding his head, "Okay,"
Carla smiled, "Awesome, I'll drag the stand over while Daddy carries you," She said, looking at Aiden.
They gently transferred Jace to Ariel's bed, watching the boy lay next to his mother, his hand was slowly patting Ariel's tummy, his eyes watching her face quietly.
"Let's go," Carla waved everyone outside.
Aiden raised his brow at her questioningly.
She sighed and held his hand, "I need to speak to you, about your babies," She whispered.
Siden immediately got interested, he glanced at Ariel and Hace before following his friends out of the room.
Moon had resumed her position on the bench she was previously occupying with Viktor; she watched everyone walk out of the room.
She saw Carla take Aiden to a corner, saying something to him.
"How are the twins? Are they okay? Have I lost them? Tell me the truth?" Aiden blinked away his tears. It was hard for him to say those words, but he had to get it over with once and for all; as long he got his wife back, then they could both heal together.
Carla sighed, "Aiden..." She paused.
"Talk to me, Carla!" Aiden grabbed her shoulder, glaring at her.
"Calm down, Aiden, calm down," Jess ran over and held Aiden's arm, pulling him away from Carla.

"Please, just tell me, Carla, I can handle it," Aiden let his tears fall; his eyes were shut, his hands clenched.
"Speak already, Carla; let the man know what is going on!" Jess barked at Carla.
"Everyone, calm down; whatever the result is, it isn't Carla's fault; she's just a doctor who is trying her best to salvage the whole situation; please, let's all be calm," Moon stepped forward and held Carla's hand, smiling at her.
"This is the part where you speak," She whispered to Carla, who still looked shaken from Aiden's outburst.
Carla took a shaky breath, "I'm sorry, Aiden. I'm trying to stop her from bleeding, but it's not stopping, as we speak, your babies are still in there, but I don't know for how long... they might leave, Aiden." Her bright smile was gone now; there was no need to pretend as if everything was alright; she knew that Ariel was on her way to losing her pregnancy.
Aiden chuckled bitterly, "How long, Carla? How long before they're gone?" He questioned, his face hardening.
"An hour. If she bleeds for another hour she would lose them," Carla answered directly.
"Will she be fine?" Aiden balled his fists.
His heart was wrenched; he was hurting so bad, but he had to be strong for Ariel and for Jace; he had to.
"Hopefully, Aiden. She's out of harm's way, we just have to be patient and wait for her to come back to us. We have done our best as doctors, friends, and family; it's left for her to choose her final part, Aiden... I'm sorry," Carla looked away from Aiden when she saw the pain in his eyes, she couldn't bear it.
This was the hard part of her profession, getting to be the bearer of bad news to people over their loved ones, especially to people who were like family to her.
"Okay," Aiden nodded.
He removed Jess' hand from his arm and approached the door again, "You all can leave; I need some time alone with my family," He said before he went into the room and closed the door.
Jess sighed, she looked around, noticing how everyone seemed worried; she felt bad for Aiden, her cousin, and she felt bad for Ariel, her best friend.
She wanted to leave; the place was so depressing at the moment, and everyone needed to go through separate ways to think of everything. Ariel might die; that was Carla's hidden message.
They were all scared for her, for Jace, and for Aiden; their lives would be meaningless without Ariel even extending to them. Ariel had come to be the only thing that made everyone get back together. Without trying, she held the family and friendship together; losing her would be devastating, and they would be losing a part of them.
Carla gave them a curt nod and walked away, hiding her tears.
Moon raised her face, watching everyone, "She's going to be okay." She said before turning around and walking down the stairs.
Jess chuckled amidst her tears, "For the first time, I trust her words," She sniffed, wiping her tears with the back of her hand
