Bigshot's Sweetie Is a Cat!-Chapter 1026: Taking a Few Down With Me

A figure stumbled desperately through the pitch-black night, his stamina nearly exhausted, his steps heavy and erratic.
Where he passed, a few drops of blood were inevitably left behind, making it all too easy for those behind to track him.
Xiaobai clutched his constantly bleeding left arm with the hand holding the gun.
Blood seeped through his fingers, dyeing his entire hand and the gun red, while his injured left arm was completely soaked in blood, which continuously flowed to his palm, quickly pooling at his fingertips before finally dripping to the ground, a ghastly sight.
After fleeing for an unknown amount of time, a few abandoned warehouses appeared before him, a timely refuge for Xiaobai who had been on the run for almost two hours.
Xiaobai glanced back, saw they hadn’t caught up, and ducked into one of the warehouses.
The interior of the warehouse was extremely dark, the dust covering the ground making it hard to breathe.
Xiaobai collapsed to the ground, clutching his arm and gasping for air, the blood-stained gun tossed aside.
After considerable blood loss, he was near shock, his brain felt overwhelmed as if deprived of oxygen, his entire chest heavy and in pain.
The pursuers seemed determined to kill him, and they would find him soon, so he planned to rest a few minutes to regain some strength before moving on.
Even if luck was on his side and they didn’t find him, he couldn’t stay long; if he fainted here, by the time someone found him, his body would probably be rotting.
He pulled a folding knife from his jacket pocket and cut a long strip of cloth from his shirt.
Xiaobai had just finished bandaging his unceasingly bleeding arm when he heard the sound of footsteps and the flash of flashlights.
His entire body tensed up instantly, even his breathing subconsciously became lighter.
Once he listened carefully and confirmed it was that group, Xiaobai immediately grabbed his gun, supporting himself against a wooden crate behind him to stand up with difficulty...
"Boss, over here."
The group tracked Xiaobai by the blood trail to the place where he had rested.
However, Xiaobai’s figure was nowhere in sight, only a pool of blood remained, and the maliciously disturbed dust on the ground revealed footprints marking Xiaobai’s departure.
"The blood’s still wet; he just left. Quick, if he doesn’t die, we will."
"Yes."
At the leader’s command, everyone rushed in the direction of Xiaobai’s footprints.
His vision became increasingly blurred, Xiaobai, losing too much blood, could no longer see the path in front of him.
A piercing cold wind dried multiple traces of blood on his body, sticking half-dry to his skin, an indescribable discomfort.
If Xiaobai saw himself like this, he’d definitely be disgusted beyond words.
As consciousness faded, this thought surfaced in Xiaobai’s mind.
"Bang."
With a gunshot shattering the night sky, Xiaobai fell to the ground with a thud.
Sharp, searing pain shot from his calf, jolting him into a harsher reality.
He turned around, gripping his gun, aimed at the two pursuers behind him, and fired.
As they scrambled to dodge, Xiaobai gritted his teeth, struggled to his feet, and dragged his injured leg into a filthy, foul-smelling alley.
He leaned against a moss-covered wall, sitting down at the edge of the alley’s exit.
Xiaobai loaded the last few bullets from his pocket into the magazine, then firmly gripped his gun, waiting for his pursuers to arrive.
There’s no escape left; he no longer had the strength to run.
Even if he were to die, he would take some of them down with him.
