Chapter 91: Jamie’s Past Invention

Now then, how about we backtrack a few days so we can understand exactly why Jamie was tied up in a straitjacket and being watched closely by six enemy transcendents.

Starting from his and Miranda’s discussion with Dornik and the First-Class Commanders.

Their target continent was one named Bliteon.

It was two continents away from Alenlet and was one of the Larger continents on Zotov.

And in a way, it was a continent that could be called the ’Power Source’ behind the invasion of the dragons.

It was also the place where the dragons mined the highest amounts of Ruindeum on the planet.

Dornik decided to target Bliteon next, simply because of how special it was.

The Dragons had obviously found out that the Liberation Front had taken Oyend since Brambus’ presence suddenly disappeared the day before.

So, they knew the Liberation Front was up to something, making an attempt to take back the continents.

In such a situation, the dragons predicted the next target to be either the continent after Oyend, or the continent on the other side of Alenlet.

Explaining it better, if the continents of Zotov were arranged next to each other, then on Alenlet’s right(east) was Oyend, with a different continent on the left (west); Ladoa.

The dragons’ prediction was that the Liberation Fron was going to attack either Ladoa to their west or the continent that was east of Oyend, so they moved to fortify those two in preparation for defence and a counter-offensive

However, Dornik predicted they’d make such an assumption and decided to attack none of the predicted ones but a Continent some distance away.

Now this wasn’t a recent decision by Dornik, as he had thought about this for a while and had already begun laying the groundwork to send only the necessary troops over to Bliteon.

The only reason he had not publicised the plan yet was because of Bliteon’s special circumstances which he had not found a way to deal with...until Jamie came along.

His secretary generated a projection of light atop the conference table with a magic projector, displaying multiple screens with images of certain items and people on them.

Maximizing one screen, the image of a device was shown.

Calling it a ’device’ seemed like an understatement, however, as it was an imposing behemoth of machinery.

It had a towering frame constructed from metals, massive interconnected limbs resembling skeletal appendages, and articulated arms equipped with an array of specialised tools that extended with precision.

The whole thing resembled a giant mechanical spider, illuminated by an array of powerful lights resembling the spider’s eyes.

"This is a machine called the E-"

"ERE-34R9..B2E...no, this is a B2W. 34R9B2W."

Jamie cut the man’s words off, causing the eyes of all those present besides Miranda to turn to him with light surprise

"Why so surprised? Of course, I know what these are."

They remembered that Jamie was also Estean, so it made sense that he knew about Estean machinery, however, his next words delivered their greatest shocks of the day.

"I designed them."

Dornik’s eyes widened greatly, and his gaze alternated between the projection and Jamie multiple times.

’He’s the one responsible for the creation of these glorified leeches!!’

Regardless of whether Jamie sensed the anger bubbling up inside Dornik or not, the man continued his words.

"I created it when we created the new ’Interstellar Operations Management Board’.

As a means for us to safely extract high purity resources from colonized planets without permanently damaging or terraforming them as a side effect."

The ’ERE’ in the machine’s name stood for ’Estean Resource Extractor’, and it was one of the machines that Estea marketed to many other planets, earning them quintillions of money which they then refunneled into their interstellar operations.

Miranda who was typing something on her phone felt the gaze of one of the Commanders on her and looked up with a raised brow.

"Don’t look at me, I wasn’t there when he made that.

I was in Argent."

She paused for a moment, thinking back to the exact time period before continuing.

"Oh wait, Argent didn’t exist then. I was in Orilan."

"I created it because of Estea’s request. Our colonization of other planets and extraction of certain resources was causing permanent damage to the planets.

And it was quite serious, given we were doing the same to Prime Worlds as well."

When they heard Jamie say ’Prime Worlds’, the expressions of the commanders darkened a bit as the reality dawned on them once more.

At the fact that they, a mere Mid-Level world, even had a chance at resisting an Estean Race King who colonized and controlled Prime Worlds.

Prime Worlds were vastly different in many aspects, from resources to gravity, energy concentration and most importantly, the power of its inhabitants.

A Prime World was strong enough to have multiple Race Kings walking on the street with all their power on display, unlike Zotov that would be blown to bits if a Race King was to kick the ground ’too hard’.

Let’s say one needed over 200 million trillion trillion joules of energy to blow up one normal mid-level planet, something any random Race Lord could easily generate; then to do the same to a Prime World, you had to bring at least 5 times that amount of energy.

Heck, some Prime World were more durable than young stars!

You’d need more energy to destroy a Prime World than you’d need to destroy Zotov’s Sun.

Anyway, the existence of Prime Worlds was important to the universe as a whole, and the Esteans’ actions that damaged these worlds incurred repercussions from the universe and its laws.

So together with a Hermit, Drifter, and some Arachne Race Kings, Jamie had the EREs created.

But when he remembered the ’spatial gates’ that he saw when he was in Swuyle, Jamie sighed as he felt that what he was trying to avoid happened either way.

’Estea Colonized too much, and the universe is trying to keep the planet in check’

He put those thoughts at the back of his mind and returned his focus to the current discussion.

"I’m guessing that there are a bunch of these on Bliteon, and you want them deactivated.

I created them, and I know how best to dismantle them without causing any damage, and from how your faces darkened when this image was pulled up, it’s because you know what happens if you recklessly destroy one of these, huh?"

Jamie now understood why Miranda had said he was going to be crucial in liberating Bliteon.

Being the nasty person he was, and left to his devices along with similarly nasty people with no stopper present to prevent them from going overboard, Jamie had added a little ’failsafe’; one that made the people of the worlds where the EREs were used, to have no choice but to let them be.

If the ones in Bliteon were created using his original blueprints, then destroying them was going to cause localized gravitational singularities.

Fancy words aside, they generated something similar to ’mini black holes’ that devoured everyone and everything within a certain radius, permanently erasing whatever existed there...damaging the planet’s fabric of space.

To the planet, it feels as if someone violently rips a pound of flesh off their body, and then poured a bucket of salt on the wound.

It hurt like hell and took a helluva a long time to heal.

As Jamie had said, Dornik had once ordered for an extractor to be destroyed, ignorant of the consequences.

And on that day, Zotov lost 7 Superior Stage Transcendents; a big blow to the planet that was barely defending itself.

"If they are the way I created them, then disabling them should be just as easy.

Worst case scenario, I may just spatially displace it outside the planet’s atmosphere."

He shrugged like it did not matter even if he failed to safely deactivate the EREs without the command keys from the control centres built into the machines.

Normally, even Sovereigns with Pseudo Authorities would be hard-pressed to spatially displace something out of their planet’s atmosphere, but this was Jamie we were talking about.

’Normal’, did not apply.

With the knowledge that Jamie could disarm these things draining their planet’s Ruindeum reserves, they moved on to the next major part of the plan; the location of the EREs.

Though they were on Bliteon, the situation was a bit tricky.

"Overlapping Third Dimensional Coordinates.

Or so it appears at first glance, but there’s just a single shift in a coordinate.

That .1 shift makes these two dimensions completely different spaces from each other."

A 3D map of the Bliteon continent was shown, and deep under the continent’s ocean, was the location of the EREs.

A naturally occurring...pocket dimension-like alternate space, with dimensional walls that even Race Lords would sweat trying to break.

The huge density of the universal law of destruction in the area, courtesy of the high Ruindeum concentration mutated that space.

To balance out the destruction law energy, a certain primordial energy, along with the energies of many other universal laws were drawn to that area as well.
