Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 233: And on the Seventh Day… VI
Here in the Crimson Court, however, the bloodlines of the Founding Houses possessed knowledge that eclipsed even that of Emperors. Their ancestors had stood alongside Jamie and had fought and bled during that conflict.
They had experienced first-hand the unparalleled horror that was the Extinction Legion, and over the millennia, they passed down those memories within their families.
"It seems that even though I completely shattered that thing to pieces, certain remnants had come together and reforged itself."
One of the Tepes Kings had his eyes widen at Jamie’s words. Cold sweat dripped down their brow and they couldn’t help but ask.
"L-Lord Jamie, you’re not suggesting...the An-anni—"
"Yes. That’s what I mean."
Jamie cut the stammering man off and the Vampires felt fear grip their chests.
Thankfully, they had Miranda to bail them out before they spiralled down the whirlpool of fear threatening to consume them.
"Don’t be too scared. Due to the circumstances of its revival, it cannot be used as before.
It’s now more of a normal sentient existence. But if it’s to reach the level of power its master had reached, then it may regain the Authority to annihilate all sentient life beneath its user’s Realm."
After Miranda spoke, Jamie nodded for a moment before continuing his words.
"Moving on, the Extinction Legion has been revived and just like before, certain idiots are siding with them for various reasons.
I have proof to believe that amongst those siding with this new Extinction Legion, there are Estean Race Rulers.
We have only confirmed to the level of Race Kings, and we haven’t verified any Emperors—yet."
A mixture of shock and bitter disappointment swept through the room, the Vampires’ expressions darkening as they absorbed the news.
Murmurs of disgust rippled through the crowd. To side with the Legion was an unforgivable betrayal, one that struck at the very heart of Estea’s integrity.
It was a stain on the honour of the Esteans who had died fighting the Legion 500 Cosmic Cycles ago.
"Rationalizing why they joined is irrelevant. The issue is that, even though we’ve confirmed the existence of these turncoats, we can’t expose them—yet."
Following up after Jamie was Miranda who explained why none of the Vampires present were targets for the Extinction Legion.
"As of now, the new Extinction Legions has not and for the foreseeable future, would not approach any Estean Vampires or Werewolves because they’re aware of my existence and are trying to stay off my radar.
It’s aggravating, really, since it makes it that much harder to trace their movements..."
Miranda muttered the latter half of her statement under her breath, though this hall filled with Superhumans heard her clearly.
After a moment of silence, she placed a hand on her chin and thought.
"I think I get what you’re up to Jay. Although they aren’t going to approach any Estean Vampires or Werewolves, they’d be less on guard against them than they are against me.
We can actually use this..."
She then turned to the Race Rulers and spoke.
"You understand, right?"
And they all nodded in silent understanding of Miranda’s intentions. While the Legion was busy sidestepping Miranda, they were leaving themselves vulnerable to those they least suspect.
Miranda intended to use that complacency to their advantage. Have them gather intel and keep tabs on the turncoats.
"Remember, though—you need to be careful. They may not suspect you, but that doesn’t mean they won’t catch on if you’re too direct. Subtlety is your weapon here."
Jamie warned them and they nodded once more in understanding. Right after, Waldron spoke, trying to get a narrowed-down view of their targets.
"They wouldn’t approach us or the wolves, but other races are fair game, right?"
On Estea, there were 12 Major ’Races’.
Vampires, Werewolves, Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Dragons, Beastkin, Spirits, Giants, Flugels, Angels and Demons.
"I don’t think they’d go near Angels and Demons though."
Seren spoke up after Waldron, and when he looked at her to question her reasoning, she continued.
"If they’re smart enough to be wary of Lady Miranda, then they’re smart enough to avoid Angels and Demons due to Lady Sarina as well."
Her words reminded them all about the Sixth of the Hybrids. Sarina Aster—the Nephalem.
She was the most Lowkey of them all, but she was not a force to be trifled with in any way.
Her lowkey nature was simply a by-product of a singular focus on her own elusive goals, rendering most other matters insignificant.
Seren had encountered Sarina before and knew all too well that, in terms of sheer fury, an enraged Miranda would look ’cute’ beside an angry Sarina.
When it came to Power, despite being the ’Sixth’ of the Hybrids, she was the ’Third’ strongest.
The power gap between her and Miranda was so miniscule that any fight between them would be decided by skill and condition rather than raw power.
The environment wasn’t really an issue since beings on their level could simply change the environment to whatever one suited them best.
Just like Jamie using his Domain Declaration.
"None of you should breathe a word about Seren’s ascendance to Monarchy. Keep it under wraps."
Jamie spoke suddenly, then retrieved an item from his subspace and tossed it towards Seren who hurriedly caught it.
"Use that to conceal yourself from the Main Entities. You would be a wildcard in our plans."
When Jamie said that, Miranda raised a brow in light surprise. But she understood Jamie’s intentions without him having to speak.
"Seren, you’re following me when I’m going back to Argent."
Miranda made that declaration and Seren didn’t exactly have a choice to refuse.
After this, Jamie turned to her and asked.
"We might have to go see Yugnot. So, we can properly equip them with armaments to resist the power of Extinction."
Miranda nodded in agreement and said she’d send people to go meet the Dwarf King in question—the same one who made the Anti-Dragon weapons that the Zotovians used to fight against Ikerth.
With that settled, Jamie moved on to the final item on his list.
"You guys may misunderstand, so let’s get one thing straight. Our goal is NOT to fight a war. Our goal is to crush them before things can get to that level."
His words echoed in the hall, and a few of the Vampires frowned. One-sidedly crushing an overwhelming force was never easy, especially with their limited knowledge of the enemy’s numbers and capabilities.
"I heard you guys had a little war some few thousand years ago, but know that whatever that was, it can never come close to the war against the Destruction Supreme.
I do NOT want a repeat of that."
Estea had suffered so many losses during that war. Not just Estea, but many other planets and galaxies had lost powerhouses upon powerhouses.
However, Estea had taken the most damage since they were the ones spearheading the counterattack.
"But...! On the chance that the plan to crush them before does not turn out well.
If it comes to the worst-case scenario—if we’re forced into a battle that makes intergalactic wars look trivial—then hear me clearly: No Estean is to lift a finger."
"...wait, what?"
The room went still, a ripple of shock crossing the faces of the Vampire Rulers. Miranda herself turned to Jamie, eyebrows raised in surprise, but the man’s expression remained serious.
"Estea is not to assist the rest of the Universe.
Last time, Estea did all the heavy lifting. The rest of the Universe may have conveniently forgotten, but I haven’t.
We suffered the most damage last time, so this time, they’ll take their turn to carry the mantle. We are not the only ones in this Universe, and we won’t be the only ones making sacrifices.
Until then, you will only act under two circumstances: When things have reached a breaking point, or when we have an overwhelming advantage that we need to press.
Beyond that, we stay our hand."
As silence thickened in the hall, Jamie leaned back in his seat and continued speaking.
"Remember, this is only in the Worst-Case Scenario of war. Other than that, you’d cooperate with other planets’ forces—but do make them do most of the work.
I’d be relaying the same to the Howl Council."
The Howl Council was the Werewolves’ ruling council, just like the Crimson Court of the Vampires.
"Be vigilant. Just because the Extinction Legion hasn’t made moves toward you doesn’t mean they won’t try to eliminate you if you cross their path."
With that, Jamie rose to his feet and a cosmic gate broke open before him. Miranda also got up and was about to step into the gate when Jamie stopped in his tracks.
"Ah, last thing."
Jamie turned back to the Vampires, and a chill ran through the room as they met his gaze.
The familiar blue of Jamie’s eyes had bled into a deep crimson red, his sclera gleaming with an iridescent hue. When he spoke, it was in his true voice, resonating with a power that held no room for misunderstanding.
|Don’t be stupid. Any of you.
Stray, and I’ll personally ensure you join the Destruction Supreme... in nonexistence. |
With that final warning hanging in the air, Jamie turned back and stepped into the Cosmic Gate, vanishing from the Bloodrealm.
