Chapter 192: True Name Seal...Release!

Backtracking a few minutes earlier, Jamie had just been pulled into Laird’s Bounded Field, and Dar had his focus on the Void barrier around Tiris.

In the end, fighting Jamie and Miranda was not their goal here. They were here to kidnap Tiris; Jamie and Miranda were simply in the way.

From Dar’s point of view, there was nothing that Miranda could do, so he left some of the traitor mercs to watch her while the others fought against the Argeryan guards trying to get to Tiris.

Dar held out his hand and reached out towards the barrier, intending to break it with his law energy. However, his law energy was completely devoured by Jamie’s void power.

He frowned, conjuring a broadsword of earthen divinity and swung it at the barrier, but the sword also disintegrated on contact.

’What sort of spatial barrier is this?’

While Dar racked his brain, Miranda struggled desperately to force her body to move.

Despite being only in the Inferior Stage, Laird was still a Half-Deity, and Dar’s words about his Bounded Field left her deeply unsettled. She couldn’t stand the thought of letting Jamie face such an opponent alone, even if he was immortal.

The more she strained against the paralysis gripping her limbs, the more black blood spilt from her orifices. The whites of her eyes turned black, and she coughed and sneezed out blood along with pieces of her internal organs that had been melted by the poisons coursing through her.

"Oy, she’s still conscious after all that?"

"And she’s trying to move?"

Two of the traitor mercs exclaimed, eyes wide with disbelief as they backed away out of fear.

"She’s tougher than we thought."

Their leader muttered with a frown and was about to step forward when Miranda ceased her attempts to move.

She knew.

There was nothing she could do against the wolfsbane in her body. The cocktail of poisons afflicting her had melted parts of her internal organs. She couldn’t channel her energy properly, nor could she move her arms or legs.

Even if she could, she wouldn’t be able to fight at all.

Miranda knew this, and it filled her with frustration.

"..."

Grinding her teeth, she bit her lips so hard that she tore the skin, drawing blood.

She really didn’t want to.

But she had no other choice.

She also knew that once she did this, Jamie would ensure she couldn’t reseal it, even if it meant using his compulsion on her.

A tear slipped from her eyelids, mingling with the black blood on her face as it fell to the ground.

With immense effort, Miranda parted her lips and forced out three words.

[True...Name...Seal...]

The Mercenary Leader who was watching her closely, narrowed his eyes when he saw her lips move. However, despite his superhuman hearing, he somehow couldn’t hear the words she spoke.

[Release...Clause...]

Although he detected no energy activity, his suspicions were aroused. He moved closer and grabbed her by the shoulders.

[Violet...Inferno...]

"What are you sa—!" |LET GO OF HER, YOU FOOL!!!|

Dar’s true voice buffeted his ears and soul in that second, but before he could act on the warning of the Half-Deity who had sensed something wrong—

***KAABOOOMMMM!!!!!

—A massive explosion of violet-hued flames erupted from Miranda, consuming everything within a 500-meter radius. The air itself seemed to ignite as the inferno spread with ferocious speed and intensity.

Cars in the convoy were instantly caught up in the blast, their metal frames twisting and exploding into fragments in seconds. Flames engulfed the vehicles, transforming them into blazing wrecks.

But within Jamie’s void barrier, Tiris remained unscathed, shielded from the fiery chaos.

Both sides of the ongoing battle—traitorous mercenaries and Argeryan Guards—were caught up in the blast.

They were blown away by the force of the explosion, some suffering injuries. As Transcendents, however, they were resilient; this inferno wasn’t enough to kill them outright.

Nevertheless, the sheer knockback and power of the blast ensured that nothing remained within 200 meters of Miranda on all sides.

The violet flames roared, consuming everything in their path, before gradually dissipating, leaving a scorched, empty wasteland around Miranda.

The young woman remained at the epicentre, still down on her knees while biting her lips.

She could feel it.

Her Hybrid nature reasserted itself, burning away the wolfsbane in her bloodstream while forcing out the poisons in her body through the pores on her skin.

Crimson red blood replaced the blackened blood spilling from her orifices, and in a moment, even that disappeared.

The last of the wolfsbane and poison mixture was ejected from her body in a spurt through the stab wound in her torso, and then the flesh knitted itself together instantly.

Slowly, Miranda got to her feet.

Her body was 100% fine. Returned to Prime condition.

She heaved a deep breath, releasing magic power from her body in the form of hot steam.

The magic flowed towards her hand and swirled into her palm, before reshaping into a long spear that ignited with purple flames.

’I hate this!’

Miranda was still filled with hate, but her rational mind pierced through that cloud of hatred and reminded her of the sense in Jamie’s earlier words.

It didn’t matter how she got her powers. What mattered was that she had them forever. She could limit them all she wanted, but they were never gonna go away.

So, she had no choice but to embrace them.

Embrace them, and use them for her benefit.

Just as she thought that, a giant drill of earth, spinning hypersonically with powerful divinity swirling around it tore through the air and reached her position in an instant.

However, her body vanished just before it struck, causing the drill to pass harmlessly by and continue, eventually pulverizing a distant mountain.

But before that happened, Miranda had already moved towards the attacker, with bursts of flames rocketing from under her feet to enhance her speed.

She hurled the spear in her hand at Dar, forcing him to conjure an earthen barrier to block it. He was preparing a follow-up attack when the spear melted through his barrier and pierced the hand he had raised.

The spear struck the centre of his palm, destroying the Tier 7 circle that was forming there, and within seconds, his upper arm was engulfed in violet-coloured fire.

Dar roused his divinity and tried to use ambient water laws to quench the flames, but instead of quenching, the flame spread past his elbow and nearly reached his shoulder!

The damage they dealt wasn’t much relative to his Health values, but over time, that wouldn’t be the case anymore.

Dar was about to try to bring something out from his subspace when Miranda’s wolf claws coated in flames swiped down from above, tearing five new marks over his face.

|GARR!!|

His hands reflexively went to try and grab Miranda’s, but she pulled back faster than he could, before using her flames as boosters to change her body’s direction and spun to deliver a kick to the side of his head.

The force threw the man to the side but he flipped around and unleashed a barrage of earthen projectiles at her, only for Miranda to tune up the heat and release a wave of flames that melted the projectiles.

When the flames died down, Miranda was nowhere to be seen.

Dar’s pupils darted around searching for her when he heard a scream coming from one of the mercs and looked in that direction just in time to see Miranda flinging the man into another.

Miranda used the leg of the first one she caught as a handle to swing the man’s body like a weapon, using him to bash someone else into the ground.

She then tossed her makeshift weapon aside and jumped the one on the ground, grabbing his left arm which he tried to conjure a magic circle on and ripping it off his shoulder.

Her fist encased in flames followed, crashing on the man’s skull and driving his head deep into the ground.

Dar dashed towards her to attack her, but she jumped away to another merc and delivered a high kick to the side of that one’s head.

The force disoriented him and Miranda took advantage of that to send her clawed hands into his body, before ripping out whatever internal organ she could grab in a second.

Sadly, for this guy, what she took were his intestines and a good chunk of his left lung.

The man was already dead before Dar’s attack aimed at Miranda arrived, but the woman ducked to avoid it, before sliding under the dead merc’s legs and dashing onto her next target.

This one still hadn’t recovered from being blown away earlier, so she easily stomped her foot on his spine and then pulled on his both arms from behind, ripping them out. She then used the broken bones on his arms to stab the sides of his head and end the poor dude’s life.
